The super snake is made by Shelby, the GT500 is not. The GT500 is made by Ford.

@H8Breeder1 Shelby has never made the modern GT500, it's all Ford, they just pay royalties to Shelby to use his name. Shelby has modified the GT500 into a King of the Road and they modified a standard GT into a Shelby GT-H for Hertz. They also did a limited production of a few other vehicles, but as for manufacturing the GT500, never did it. He is making a GT350 however, but all that is, is a modified 5.0 with a FRPP blower and suspension bits, with Shelby's body kit.

@H8Breeder1 I'm a Camaro guy too, that's why I have both lol I got a 98 SS 6 speed (one of a very few hard tops without the T-top option) and I just picked up a 2011 GT 5.0 about a year ago. Love the car. I just love cars in general. From American muscle to Euro exotics and everything in between.

@H8Breeder1 LT1's are still pretty stout motors and the LT1 cars are not too far off the LS1s when it comes to performance. I learned not too long ago that even 300hp is plenty, that's why my GT only has mufflers on it with a K&N filter and a mild Ford Racing tune. I did dump quite a bit of money into the suspension, wheels, tires, and some body mods and got it to just where I like it.

@carnivalofdead The GT500 super snakes produce absolutley brutal power and torque. The stock GT500's use an Eaton supercharger, which is a roots-type supercharger, it has rotating lobes that blow/compress air into the intake manifold. The GT500 "super snakes" like seen here, use a twin-screw supercharger. The twin-screws are more efficient at blowing/compressing air than a roots-type, so there is alot more power/torque available. These super snakes will, from a stop, do 180 mph in ONE mile.
