One day I got a call "plz come back your dad is sick".. By the time I reached hospital it was too late.. He built the house before dying god knows how !! my older brother was in the army...I was6 years old and saw him once, the next year I was adopted& soon before then I found out he had died. even though I didn't know him well I knew he was a good man to fight for our country! I'm 16 now & I still miss him to this day.
And my dad us my best friend I look around at every other teenaged girls dad and he's there to scare the crap out of their boyfriends and rule with an iron fist nut my dads rarly home to do that. all I can do is hope I just wanted to say ivknow how it feels when your father leaves for months on end I get it I cry alot. But what dosent kill us makes us stronger and just remember your not the only one and dad will be home before you know it:)
My dad is being deployed to afganastan us February for 6to 10months and it hurts.it hurts not knowing if your dad is going to come back okay or if he'll come back at all.
@DustyTirts My dad also died of cancer. He had liver cancer, I was 12 years old... I stopped believeing in God and I didn't care anymore. But I've learned that every thing does happen for a reason. My dad had been sick since I was 2 and I know that he is now out of his suffering and with God. Stay strong, it'll get easier!

My Father was a decorated Veteran of WW II and flew SBD's and F6F's off the deck of the USS Hornet. He was a hero to his country and even in death, he will always remain my hero. His name is Francis Leo Anderson of Odessa, Texas and I am damn proud to be known as his son. I'm 55 years old and my Father passed away in February of 2001. Even today, I miss my Daddy. Thank God that Donnie's Father is home. I pray that he is never deployed overseas ever again.

@DustyTirts I lost my Dad to cancer 2 weeks after my 18th birthday last year(march 27, 2009) I prayed everyday just as you did, and God answered my prayers in a different way. He ended my Dad's suffering, so in my eyes he healed my Dad, I know that Dad is in heaven fishing, and hunting like he used to. Life is so short Dad passed at the age of 46.

@DustyTirts He is with Jesus. He had another plan for your daddy. I lost my Pappaw 10 years ago and believe me it never gets any easier when you think about them and miss them. A song that has helped me get through the hard times is Homesick by Mercy Me. "In Christ there are no goodbyes and in Christ there is no end so I'll hold onto Jesus with all that I have to see you again" Just put your faith in Jesus and you will see your dad again someday as long as he is in Heaven.

@DustyTirts I saw my dad suffering with cancer & I told him to fight to live while I prayed everyday too. My dad died one year ago on this day, 07/11/09. I thought God didn't answer my prayer too. When I thought about how much pain my dad must have been in then I realized that God did what He knew was best. God relieved my dad of his pain, He finished my dad's mansion in Heaven, and called him home. My dad has a new body that'll never get sick. God answered, He just answered in a different way.

i misz my dad too; am 20 yrs old. my parents split up couple months even though am 20 it hurts like ah bitch..cuz now that they split up my dad treats us like shiet..i misz him alot but i guess it aint even worth missing him nd crying for im when we talk to im he just talks shiet to us..especially me.. nd i qet blamed that it was my fault that i had 2 do w their brake up..nd i didnt have to do shiet w it!!.. it sux!! :'((

@AwsomeCuban it really does; i havent talked to my dad for couple months already he didnt even call to tell us merry xmas or happy new year nd it did really hurt!!! i didnt want to call im cuz of the reason that i was scared to get yelled at nd get hurt once again so i didnt dare to call!! i know i should of called but i didnt cuz of the my fear that he was gana hurt me again i wish my dad wasnt like that but wat can we do?? nothing at all!! :((

my older brother was in the army...I was6 years old and saw him once, the next year I was adopted& soon before then I found out he had died. even though I didn't know him well I knew he was a good man to fight for our country! I'm 16 now & I still miss him to this day.

And my dad us my best friend I look around at every other teenaged girls dad and he's there to scare the crap out of their boyfriends and rule with an iron fist nut my dads rarly home to do that. all I can do is hope I just wanted to say ivknow how it feels when your father leaves for months on end I get it I cry alot. But what dosent kill us makes us stronger and just remember your not the only one and dad will be home before you know it:)

@DustyTirts My dad also died of cancer. He had liver cancer, I was 12 years old... I stopped believeing in God and I didn't care anymore. But I've learned that every thing does happen for a reason. My dad had been sick since I was 2 and I know that he is now out of his suffering and with God. Stay strong, it'll get easier!

My Father was a decorated Veteran of WW II and flew SBD's and F6F's off the deck of the USS Hornet. He was a hero to his country and even in death, he will always remain my hero. His name is Francis Leo Anderson of Odessa, Texas and I am damn proud to be known as his son. I'm 55 years old and my Father passed away in February of 2001. Even today, I miss my Daddy. Thank God that Donnie's Father is home. I pray that he is never deployed overseas ever again.

@DustyTirts I lost my Dad to cancer 2 weeks after my 18th birthday last year(march 27, 2009) I prayed everyday just as you did, and God answered my prayers in a different way. He ended my Dad's suffering, so in my eyes he healed my Dad, I know that Dad is in heaven fishing, and hunting like he used to. Life is so short Dad passed at the age of 46.

I'm a Marine wife and my husband is currenty deployed to Afghanistan. He's been gone for a while and my son is too young to understand where daddy is so he walks around the house every night looking for him and asking me for him and crying when I tell him Daddy won't be here becaue he's busy at work.

my dads in the navy and i live with my mom they where never married he, my little brother, and my step mom are going back to washton agin and im a daddys girl so i know how this feels he gos on the submarine witch really scares me iv never been so afrade im 13 and he has been in the miltary seance i was 4. i dont get to see him that much olny in the summer if hes not on the submarine....... so i know excaly how it feels :/

My dad is currently away, but he has been to hell and back plenty of times before this. It's worse when your a kid i think. and I'm so happy to hear he came back safe. i give my best :)

@DustyTirts He is with Jesus. He had another plan for your daddy. I lost my Pappaw 10 years ago and believe me it never gets any easier when you think about them and miss them. A song that has helped me get through the hard times is Homesick by Mercy Me. "In Christ there are no goodbyes and in Christ there is no end so I'll hold onto Jesus with all that I have to see you again" Just put your faith in Jesus and you will see your dad again someday as long as he is in Heaven.

@DustyTirts a christian would say god has a plan, even though it hurts it makes sense in the end, but someone else might say it was just his time, it will hurt but will get better over time, I know you miss him but im sure he love you, I wish i knew my mother, she died before i ever really met her.

@DustyTirts I saw my dad suffering with cancer & I told him to fight to live while I prayed everyday too. My dad died one year ago on this day, 07/11/09. I thought God didn't answer my prayer too. When I thought about how much pain my dad must have been in then I realized that God did what He knew was best. God relieved my dad of his pain, He finished my dad's mansion in Heaven, and called him home. My dad has a new body that'll never get sick. God answered, He just answered in a different way.

I am a military mom. I remember what it was like when my ex deployed. leter Losing the love of my life protecting our freedom! My kids are now serving and now leaving little ones while they are defending our freedom. My grandchildren will always know how how important it if for their moms and dads to do what they do! . I was in Iraq from dec 2003-jun2003 & from dec-2004-june2004. I was a single man then, I can't imagine how hard that was for you and him. I am out now, married, older, and moved on from the military. Bless you boy for this sweet video. I shed I tear thinking of my boys who had kids. Bless your dad son and your family, may ya'll never be seperated again. Leave it the young ones like I was. I think though that you'll grow up and be agood man, just like your daddy.

I lost my dad NOV 17,2008 the last time i visit him in the hospital he said to me give me a hug very tight and i kiss him too. but i didnt know that will be the last day that i will see my father alive. he died of Kidney failure and Heart problem here in elmhurst hospital queens. god bless you. its really nice. its makes me cry
