@AndrewJBoyer I can't see it being played but they do play Summer In Paradise occasionally, as well as Still Cruisin' from a few years before so that era of the band isn't entirely neglected. This track always reminds me of their Beach Boys 85 album a bit.
@AndrewJBoyer I think that songs like this, Island Girl and Somewhere Near Japan are better than Kokomo and if they'd been attached to a massive film they'd have been hits. Maybe.
@boyders16 I'm VERY excited for the new material they're coming out with. I'm a songwriter myself, and Wilson is my HERO. today's music is completely lacking the california surfer genre. So with the beach boys songwriting along with the technical advances of the studio. We have some good stuff coming are way (Pumped Up Kicks sounds like a song they couldve written)
This album got slated a lot on release but there are some gems on the album such as this with Carl and Mikes great vocals + some great guitar riffs/chord changes like @ 1.48
@KenzoSnizzle Good for him ..of course it's Al but it's Carls voice that makes the song ...love the high falsetto on this which reminds one of early /mid sixties beach boys
@gottacatchemall72 I'd only heard samples of a few of their songs and to be honest, most, if not all, of the songs from 'Summer in Paradise' are very unremarkable and forgettable; not horrendously awful (maybe apart from Summer of Love and John Stamos' cover of Forever) but grossly mediocre. I think this song, despite its tacky lyrics, is the only passible song. For the most part, the music is OK if erratically produced but the lyrics are rather poor on almost all of them. :/
@GenesisKnights This is probably the best song on the album along with Summer In Paradise. This track has better lyrics though. The problem with the album is the remakes of classic songs, horribly dated production and naff lyrics on most of the tracks. If they had maintained the standard of this song throughout then it would be regarded as an ok album I think.
They BETTER sing this on their reunion tour! :D

@luxyaltz219 It's Al Jardine on the lead vocals for the chorus. :)

@luxyaltz219 Carl's voice is not heard on this, sadly; Mike sings the verses and Al sings the chorus. :S :)

@KenzoSnizzle Carl sings the "oh-oh-ohoo" about twice. It's not much but he is there at least.

I don't understand why so many people malign this album. It's not their best, but it's not their worst either.

@gottacatchemall72 It has decent moments but I can't think of any of their albums that are worse. Such beautiful cover art though!

Is this really bad music?
I don't get it.

@GenesisKnights It's bad compared to their other releases ... at least that's what most people say.
Maybe back then it was crap, but now i rather hear this, than most shit that we hear on the radio.
