  • Because I love you, Everything moves.

  • ...and poetry of the highest order.

  • énorme

  • Esta escena es indestructible.

  • c'est vraiment le film le moins chiant de Godart...

  • is this a composition of various poems by Elard? I can't find the poem ...

  • Alpha-beta-gama-delta-epsilon-zeta-eta-theta-iota-kapa-lamda-mi-ni-xi-omicron-pi-ro-sigma-taf-ypsilon-fi-hi-psi-omega ville (the alphabet of good cinema!!!)

  • QUI c'est qui dit que GODARD c'est le pire du cinéma français? T'es fan des ch'tis toi.

  • Godard , le pire du cinéma français ...

  • seergasm and eargasm

  • one of my favourie scenes, ever.

  • Fantastic Classic.

  • a remarkable question this film translates in its visual dialogue asking what is love? her beauty and sadness breaks a heart, he holds all of her cards passing each one back to her, slowly - captive, captivated, captives, captured

  • i am dying to see this film for ages,

  • sei bellissima Anna.

  • Somewhere in the sixties,

    I guess.

  • From which year was this film?

  • 1965.

  • from

  • Beautiful scene.

    Perfectly balanced.

  • c'est la poésie de Paul Eluard (Capitale de la douleur).

    ---

it's a poetry of French poet - Paul Eluard (Capital of Sorrow). My fav poet ever

  • Esta es una de las mejores escenas que vi en mi vida.

  • How'd you feel if someone said FUCK USA?

  • @TLC2287 Fuck all nations and all false collectives

  • yeah.. LIKE ME.. FUCK USA!!

  • i think this is [was] Godard at his best. don't know why this scene works, but it does. Anna's beauty certainly helps.

for me, only Alphaville and Masculin/Feminin have held up after all these years.

  • Thise scene is stunning, almost hieratic.

  • This is great poetry of the cinema.

  • "volupté" doesnt mean "sensuality" ,it's a more kind of vicious word

  • Yes, it doesn't mean "sensuality", it means something like "lust" or "voluptuous". In portuguese it means "volúpia".

  • Yes, you are right. I am french and for me voluptéé

is definitely more associated with lust.. And sensualité may be more prone to represent a wider range of states related to the senses . In fact, the word has 2 definitions in Larousse french dico 2007, 1. pleasure of the senses or sexual pleausre 2. Moral satisfaction.

I always like when someone make me learn something new,

    Thanks,

    Michel

  • Well Michel,THANK YOU for the remarkable detail you pointed out. I just did my job lol (I'm a translator). Salut Michel. Au revoir :-)

  • Thank you, I am actually studying to become a translator too!

  • Great!!! What languages do you translate from?

  • From english to french for now. And you ??

  • From english to portuguese and sometimes from french to portuguese. Cool :)

  • NICE! that shows through the acting....in fact when I read the word "sensuality" it threw me off and I "felt" the meaning "lust" come through! THIS IS GREAT ART!

  • wow!

  • he's a fucking genius greatest film ever

  • Amoureu, qu'est-ce que c'est?
