  • no gun would recoil like that, that's so unrealistic.

  • @bluesuits thx for saying games arent realistic.. ruined my life xD

  • The code put below does not work use pcgamingftw code.

  • use referral code "reapDisc20" to get a 20% discount on the novint falcon pistol grip bundle

  • does it work with Duck Hunt?

  • ha ha ha

    pathetic!

IF YOU LIKE FPS GAMES DONT BUY THIS HIT!

    it is very uncomfortable

if you play online fps game with this shit you are going to day!

hey you should buy it so i can pawn you all with my cheapest mouse!!

  • Still working promo code for 20% off Novint Falcon bundles including Pistol grip and Orange Box bundles = pqdiscount

  • They are spamming. They are basically advertising for the company.

  • hey people thats not spam, they are just advertising, it's just positive anyways :D

  • Not buying until firing a magnum wrong breaks my wrist.

  • You guys all fail. Think of a more creative way to spread your code than just spamming message boards. I have done just that and received about 10 referral purchases already and my free falcon is on its way.

  • Comment removed

  • Far Cry 2 did suck. The sort of game you pirate and are STILL disappointed in playing.

  • Get 20% off a Novint falcon Bundle with the referal code 'Bane'

  • Arma2 would benefit from this device, coupled with track IR...wow gaming joy

  • where do i go to turn up the recoil effect? i just got mine today and i already have n vent and everything can someone please help me?

  • wouldn't the recoil make it harder to aim

  • You can change the settings and recoil

  • You think so? I mean, really? DO YOU FUCKING THINK SO?

  • FUCK YEA I DO

  • Sure. But what's it matter? It's designed to be damn immersive.

  • That's the point, in real life you aren't going to have perfect accuracy in real life and they're trying to replicate that

  • so why pay 170 bucks just to replicate something that might make it harder to aim?

  • I hate competitive games on the computer so I wouldn't care, still wouldn't buy it though.

  • yeah i think thats the point

  • Aww yeah... the future will be awesome !

  • Wait so if mouse users beat Falcon users (presumably) the mouse users win free Falcons?

So if the mouse users prove that playing with a mouse is better, they win the not better technology?

    That's kind of amusing.

The peripheral is pretty cool, and I support anyone who buys it.

It's not for me though, but I wish the company the best of luck in their PC gaming endeavours.

  • better at games=/= better technology right?

  • The dude with the falcon is getting beat over and over.

  • this would probably take the Spy's backstab in TF2 to another level ;]

  • Lol this would suck in games like CS:S...

  • Only not, go research on what this thing does.

  • you can turn the recoil down to nothing.

The CEO of Novint Technologies, (Tomnovint) is proposing a contest that a few of the company's TF2 players are going to go against some mouse-users and if the mouse users win, they get free Novint Falcons.

  • Well CS:S sucks dick, so it doesn't really matter.

CS:S is one of the worst popular shooters ever.

Go play good games like Fallout 3, and Farcry 2, Gears of War, Gears of War 2, ARMA. could go on for a long time.

  • that depends, are you talking about multiplayer?

if so, Cod4 would have been a better example, considering it's basically CS:S, but awesome.

  • Yeah, another awesome example, CoD4. I also think that this device might actually make Crysis fun, considering it's not.

Also, someone with one of these, if you could upload a video of playing a racing game with one of these, that would be awesome, because I want to see how it is.

  • farcry 2 sux dick

  • >Good games like far cry 2...

    Far Cry 2 sucks cock

  • I totally agree with you FC2 just plain sucks. Its boring and gay

  • lol @ our thumbs down

  • I wish I could play Garry's mod with this.

  • Several source games just got an update that added support for this.

  • Wait, these guys have enough money to mass produce these robots but not enough to get a half-decent camera?

  • are you stupid, a consumer is recording this, and also youtube reduces the video quality to make it buffer faster

  • If I spend $200 on a mouse, I want it to be _better_ than using a regular mouse, not worse.

  • id like to play TF2 with that.

  • You can play EP2 and Portal with this, just go file>settings in your steam window, then change your beta participation to "Novint Falcon EP2/Portal Beta"

  • and tf2

  • Well you can now, Valve just released an update.

  • whats the point u just cant hit enythink 4 shit

  • I've used it, its tougher to hit stuff, but its also alot more fun

  • Its not as accurate as a mouse due to kick back but it adds an extra layer to a game. Making it harder to master but in a completely natural way.

Considering most people will still be using mice though, online play with it could be hurt since they just point and click.

  • If you want, you can put the forces down as low as you like, this is all the way up. You can turn off the recoil all together and its ready for pro gaming. I like trying it with the forces at max and firing off a gun to fuck around because man is it fun to feel it kick back onto you and hear the gun go off like its real.

  • If you die in the game, your hand dies for real.

  • I lol'd. hard.

  • @CAPSLOCKISONDAMNIT The hand cannot live without the mind. Wait...

  • what game's that

  • Half life2 and later.

  • Calebbridwell is right, it isn't that expensive. I'm pretty sure they also have a holiday pistol grip bundle for only $10 dollars more than the Falcon on its own ($199.99 for the bundle). Its available at their main site, novint (dot) com.

I have a Falcon with a pistol grip, and trust me, its awesome. With Orange Box support coming soon, I'm glad I've got one =)

  • Honestly I've been looking at this since early this year. Is the realism as close as it claims? The price to me is kinda high, and if I were to buy one I dont want something to just sit on my desk. How close is it to realism? Is it at all close? Or is it near exact?

  • Alot of these guns don't really exist in real life, especially in Half-Life 2, so its tough to compare in terms of realism. Is it the best tactile feedback on the market? I think so.

I would very confidently say that it adds a whole new dimension to your gaming experience, and is something no gamer should be without.

I hope that helps answer your questions =)

  • It answers them very well, and with over $100 off right now I may have to try to convince my parents to get me one XD

  • Glad to hear it. Good luck with the convincing ;)

  • The magnum, or the Raging Bull exists, the SMG is a MP7 with a EOTEC? site. the 9mm pistol is easily a modded USP or Glock. so some do exist in real life.

  • everyone this isnt even that expensive!!! google it and u can get the console, the controller, and the orange box game for only 189!!! thats less than a xbox 360!!!

  • If this is "ultimate realism," we need to kick that prognosticating William Gibson in his cyber-jewels.

  • Thats awesome ;)

  • ...It's cool with the feedback but I'm a FPS gamer and this looks like an extreme learning curve is required before becoming good at it. Like typing on a keyboard alphabetized.

  • looks fun, but DEFINTELY not accurate at all.

  • How do you know it's not accurate?

It seems like it does an accurate recoil in relation to the other weapons in the game - i.e. it's all been downscaled from real life, but is still the same.

  • in terms of detection of motion, I'm sure it's accurate. But in terms of using guns, it's horrible. You are essentially aiming with the gun to your side, NOT in front of you. It's a foot and a half away from your eyes. You can't line it up with your line of sight and have to 'guess' where they are. the concept is called shooting from the hip vs aiming.

And you really can't put that in front of you to improve your aim because... it'll block the screen.

  • ha, i love this explanation

  • the devise wasn't really designed for the pistol grip, it was just designed as an interface devise like a mouse. the grip addon is not the best idea IMO, just use the standard attachment.

  • looks pritty cool, but i think its just going to be like a joystick only rly used once in a while and stuff

  • looks very hard 2 use !

  • The Falcon is awesome! The pistol grip is an improvement- it does enhance games, but games aren't where this thing will shine. Imagine using it to sculpt in ZBrush, being able to feel the surface of the clay as you work it. They'll need to make a stylus grip for that, but they are coming out with a basic modeling app for the Falcon next month. Retailing some places now for less than $140. it beats a Wacom pad, and its a marvel when the nearest similar device costs tens of thousands of dollars.

  • This was cool, but I don't think it is much more than just a cool thing.. Would like to try it out though

At least it's a small step towards VR!

  • i think that if they combined this with the trimersion helment, then the looking would be much more inhanced and make it such a greater experence...

  • this would be good for simulation based games such as ARMA and OP flashpoint

  • No it wont.. because to using assault rifles or just SMGs you need to grip them with two hands, because of recoil... Also aiming system needs evolvement. But still looks good... Also im left handed and normally i shoot with a gun with my left hand... but i use mouse on right hand even on fps games... so this will change my way to play...

  • I agree that it may make an awesome realistic gaming experience, but the competitive gamers amongst us will most likely think of the force feedback as a handicap in multiplayer games.

  • You do realize that many professional gamers make like 6 figures, right? 6 figures for playing fucking games. You can laugh all you want, but when the "virgin faggot" is making more money than you for doing nothing, that's a whole different kind of funny.

  • yea but only Warcraft 3 player can get around 25k just be one tournament, so.... if an normal pro player plays 5-10 tournaments a month, s/he would at lest make some thing around of 125k... so if you compare that too the average working man/woman that make around same as you, it makes great difference. and if you ask where I get all these facts, i get them from dreamhack prize list from last year...

  • fail

  • sleepyboy is the only one on this forum with a brain. he is compleetly right. in half life, gordon is wearing a suit that keeps his aim level, but in other games your aim will , nay should, go right off after each shot. this will be a totally new game experience, i hope i can get one soon

  • Why are people complaining about the recoil and it making your aim off. I dont know what world you live in but the last time i fired a .357 revolver i had to reset myself each shot i didnt sit there and fire away. Also this thing looks like it has under powering kick to it to be honest and the fact that people are complaining about their arm getting tired is really stupid. If this thing gets you tired then you need to work out every once in a while. One last thing smidge146 is right.

  • This is a different experience than a mouse, you can't compare it. This will go nicely with my 3D VR goggles. Nice work novint

  • Mac?

  • I'm not sure if that thing will fit on my tiny desk :D

  • Hot, hope it will cost about 50 dollars, not more :(

  • Add $130 to that and you're about right.

  • and the price is well worth it, because it has other uses.

  • I don't really see the practicalities of using something the size of a toaster on my desk when the majority of percieved non gaming uses that I can see for this could be fulfilled by a 3Dconnexion 3d mouse, given its seemingly larger level of functionality (all axis of movement, tilt, position, rotate) and actually being smaller than a regular mouse, and about 1/10th of the price.

  • THat would be a strain on ur amm.

Id rather my arm be savely on my desk

  • downside to this cool gadget would be, the recoil makes your aim go way off, unless you are really good with it...so online multiplayer would be a bit more challenging.

i gotta get one...yeah right, as if i could afford :(

  • I think this is good for online fps because there's to many unrealistic fps games like counter strike and this would make css awesome.

  • it would only make CSS awesome if EVERYBODY on the server had it. for equal chances...and even then i don't think it would be as much fun

but, since valve and novint are gonna work togther you will soon get grade A support for CSS and novint. they'll even ship a custom "orange box" falcon soon

  • Im pretty sure you can change the intensity.

  • dude if glove pie's next version would support this, that would be sick, cuz then u could play n64 roms with that, jump mario!

  • 0:37 gamers face :)

  • What face?????????????????????

  • what? :|

  • Wrong video.

  • holy shit...is it compatable with any other war games such as soldier front or counter strike?

  • it will be soon

  • I have a Novint Falcon. And it is top grade.

I love half life 2 with the Novint Falcon

Half life 2 is called Haptics life 2 though because it uses haptx (yes that's how you spell it) technology.

The Novint Falcon is compatable with any game that there are drivers made for it.

    FOR EXAMPLE

Halo is not supported right now.

Let's say I make some drivers (even though I don't know how) Then I could use the Novint Falcon with Halo. I think.

Because Haptics life 2 is just a mod for Half life 2.

  • Wall of text.

    Fuck yeah.

  • OMG WAIT HE SAID HOW DOES IT "LOOK" NOW THAT YOU'VE TURNED UP :D

SHOULD HAVE SAID how does it feel now that you've turned it up.

  • ow man thats cool.

  • Wow, the feedback seems like it can really throw off your aim. Maybe it'll make HL2 actually challenging, heh heh.

  • Sweet, but how would you know how it feels like "to fire a real weapon"? Fully automatic rifles like that in those games are strictly illegal in reality...

  • well they either get people who have fired guns, go fire guns or go to a country where you can fire guns. then they take the motion and recoil and try and work out the forces and apply them through the controller.

  • In reality any US citizen, who can legally buy a firearm, can purchase a $250 permit, per weapon, that allows one to purchase fully automatic weapons.

  • In reality any US citizen, who can legally purchase a firearm, can purchase a $250 permit per weapon, to buy fully automatic weapons for home use.

  • Did you see my profile? I'm Canadian. In reality in Canada (due to gun registry legislation), fully automatic weapons are strictly illegal. Good points though, I forgot to specify in which country. Thanks again for the good points though, man, its good to see that someone else on this website knows what he's talking about.

  • Bump firing, pal.

  • is this what you say to everyone who creates something? Who built your toaster, your house, your car, your clothes... people with "too much time on their hands"?

what the hell is wrong with you

  • Read the description moron. This guy works for Novint...THE COMPANY WHO BUILT THE CONTROLLER. It's his job...I'm sure you wouldn't know much about having a job though.

  • Well considering he works for the company.. >_>

  • friggin sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
