@shango02005 yeah i have used them in one of my guitars, there only decent with a modern high gain sound, other than that i think there really muddy but im also not a fan of active pickips either
You must be doing something wrong. EMGs were made to be tight and articulate. I'm using one of their pickups that supposed to be super bassy and its still extremely tight.
@urmom102697 It's the cheap version of the pickups, no clearity whatsoever. Replace them with good ones and the guitars are pretty sweet. Although I would never do this EMG acoustic combo myself. I would go with '59's and a custom or PAF's.
81/89 is a good combo. Some of you people are nuts....the EMG 89 single coil tapped in the neck sounds awesome.....I almost like it as much as the Duncan sh-2 on my LP and that's the BEST neck pup I've ever heard, just as good as their $1000 Zephyrs imo. You listen with your ears.
I have a Schecter Hellraiser C-1 my self. With this guitar i think that Schecter have pushet the Hellraiser to fare. I still remember wen the Hellraiser came out it was just a simple stript down metal machine with standard EMG 81/85 combo. Then came the coiltab version with is ok but took some of the coolnes away from what i think was the intencien of the guitar from start. And now this? NO way... Call it something else just not a Hellraiser. The Hellraiser is not about versetileti. SIMPLECITY..
@ViktorVR my ltd vieper has emg pickups and they sound great with my rig, mesa is a great company, expensive but since i watched the mesa factory tour i appreciate it more, they sound great usually
@guerri89 Almost LTD shit comes whit EMG , and I mean it's all right for that kind of guitar that's a cheap made but expensive guitar as for the quality you must remember LTD means I can't afford an ESP.
And as for the Boogie amps never suit well to me I prefer to use Diezel or ENGL a bit more expensive but much more responsive.
The other problem is try to play analog whit digital which means EMG w/any tube amp , it's like try to get water from a rock.
@ViktorVR man, i have the EMGs and a peavey 6505, i know what i'm talkin about, they sound good for what i play, now i got a set of bare knuckles and it's another world, obviously, but emg sounds ok to me, de gustibus
@shango02005 Considering this guitar's about a grand or so this is a pretty fucking good guitar for the price. Since Schecter primarily markets itself to metal and hard rock players. Also if it's a Piezo style pick up it should be plugged into an acoustic amp. If you're going for the sounds that this guy's trying to produce earlier in the vid you should probably get a Fender or another lighter guitar. Also passive single coils...the tapped 89 has nice cleans but they're not Fender cleans.
Nice playing, but a horrible review. There was the piezo with both EMGs, but not the piezo with just the neck or just the bridge. There was no playing with the EMGs clean either. Too much video wasted on the 3 pickup combo.
I want one!!

dont wanna insult anyone, but the acoustic pickup and the hollowed body is useless in this case.....

emgs dont sound the same in every guitar. it depends on the wood of the body

I think it should be really easy to write reviews on EMG guitars. All you have to do is say, "It sounds like a guitar with EMGs."

Stop playing rock on EMGs

That first thing you played at around 4:00 gives the impression that note definition was not too high on Schecter's priority list...

@shango02005 that would be due to the shitty deffiniton of emgs
