I used to work for Ford, and they are the best U.S. automaker. GM is crap and has been for along time; they did pay back most of that money. The automakers are not American anymore, as most of the products are built in other countries, and assembled from foreign parts. Big companies went 3rd world. Many U.S. plants are in Mexico, and poor eastern Europe, even Turkey.

I've seen the mechanic guide that was distributed to Toyota factory mechanics with the fix to their issues, and I've spoken to them about it. Off the record, they all agreed the fix was BS and would do very little to solve the problem.

Not to mention that any recent car tests, reviews, etc, seem to have American makers above and beyond foreign competitors. They had to be bailed out bc of American consumers buying foreign shit. Now the domestics are outselling the foreigns in the US and the bail outs were paid back in full years before planned. Ford did not take a bail out either.

@carcrusher1 Most of the Toyota cars are assembled in America. Many of so called Japanese cars marketed in US is designed to sell in US, and they are not always done by the Japanese. Just because Toyota is Japanese brand, that doesn't mean it only benefits the Japanese. Look at Boeing, Boeing is an American company but it's made of a bunch of subcontractors from all over the world.

@brian8793 what about that huge recall on toyota trucks? the frames were rotting right out of them. a friend of mine had a toyota truck, the dealer told him his truck needed to come in for a "quick check". well, when he showed up at the dealer, they took his keys and told him he was not getting it back. most of the frame was desintigrated. they offered him book value on trade for a new one. the truck was 6 years old! dont calll ford and chevy problematic. look that up yourself.

I used to work for Ford, and they are the best U.S. automaker. GM is crap and has been for along time; they did pay back most of that money. Maybe you should. Companies like GM have helped the US grow since the early 1900's and have been a huge industry for this country. Not to mention that any recent car tests, reviews, etc, seem to have American makers above and beyond foreign competitors. They had to be bailed out bc of American consumers buying foreign shit. Now the domestics are outselling the foreigns in the US and the bail outs were paid back in full years before planned. Ford did not take a bail out either.

Just because Toyota is Japanese brand, that doesn't mean it only benefits the Japanese. Look at Boeing, Boeing is an American company but it's made of a bunch of subcontractors from all over the world.

Mt friends have Chevy's and Ford's and they have problems I have never even seen in my 15 years of owning Toyota Trucks.
Chevy used to make good vehicles back when Mitt Romney's dad ran things. Early 60's Chevy's are among the greatest and most beautiful cars ever made

@brian8793 what about that huge recall on toyota trucks? the frames were rotting right out of them. a friend of mine had a toyota truck, the dealer told him his truck needed to come in for a "quick check". well, when he showed up at the dealer, they took his keys and told him he was not getting it back. most of the frame was desintigrated. they offered him book value on trade for a new one. the truck was 6 years old! dont calll ford and chevy problematic. look that up yourself.
