  • Those men who grabed the babys should have been awarded x

  • wow i wouldent have had the guts to do that

  • @holiviaroxursoxoff Lol my throughts exactly!

  • 8 babies! gezzzz....in my state only 4 kids to 1 caregiver

  • God Bless that woman and those men for saving those kids. I would have been terrified.

  • theres a fire!!! that means you need the fire department to come, right? 2:21 no she needs the sesame street gang

  • God bless the baby's did not miss the people and get hurt

  • what Firetruck # is the one that is almost always used for next segments that are fire related, i'm talking about that familiar capitol building firetruck?

  • I just love that bouncy ball sound effect in this segment because there are blacks in this segment and few whites.

  • Thank GOD for the people who saved them!!! Bless ya!!!

  • this fire could explain why the newer fire alarm systems are connected to the fire dept.

  • And the men

  • God bless that woman

  • Okay, did anyone else get teary-eyed at the end there?

  • How could she not smell that? You can smell smoke long before it's visible.

  • That sign that reads "Parklands" looks like it says "Punklands" haha.

  • my GOD!! babies will have a trauma !!

  • She put herself last, after those babies, she put herself last.

That makes her a hero in my books.

  • I would hate to be 1 of those babies

  • GOD bless the babies and bless her heart ;)

  • look at how fat that dispatcher is! Too many Twinkies buddy!

  • lol big bird chair!

  • god bless them and those babies are probably 20 now or just finished college

  • @Ornithologygirl there 22 because my big bro was born in 1990 and hes 21

  • What an awesome community coming together like that! God bless them all..

  • That's why modern building codes require at least two stairways or other egress routes.

  • omg them babies must have been scared as heck i know i would o_O

  • This is also in the 1st pilot.

  • the first baby cried the hardest! thumbs up if u agree :)

  • i have 3 babies

  • What dollies!

  • Those kids are so cute.

  • I work in an emergency room, and I recently had a very similar story. It was a dad with 2 kids, one which was under a year. the house was full of flames when he was able to reach his infant, and his only way out was his back door balcony. He screamed for help and a next door neighbor responded with drop the baby. Thanks to that heroic neighbor baby suffered minimal second degree burns, dad on the other hand wasn't so lucky. They all made it though.

  • shes awsome brave babies

  • tht is one brave women. very proud!

  • The REAL heroes were the apartment janitors. Just like the boy scout handbook said if you see a building on fire the 1st thing to do is GET THE PEOPLE OUT and if the building has an alarm SET IT OFF! They did just that!

  • Why didn't the building have a fire alarm! That woman is a real hero cause that takes alot of courage for what she did. All the men outside also deserve alot of credit.

  • dang, am I glad i live in a house

  • I assume they used dummies for the actual dropping shots. You'll notice they never actually show her putting the kid, out the window; just picking them up in her apartment. The next time the camera actually shows a kid is after it was caught. Pretty simple videography trick.

  • @clmillerbunny Actually they did.

  • I hope when they reenacted this that they didn't actually drop babies from a window! :( Poor babies!

  • Tomorrow is Feb 9! I live in a DC suburb. Notice that the fire truck going up the street with the Captiol behind is used in the begging of the show.

  • WHAT A WAY TO GO WITH ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO WERE THERE

    THE DAY OF THE FIRE

HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE COMMUNITY THOSE PPL AND THOSE LITTLE IN FANTS WOULD HAVE DIED

  • ahh i can,t watch it whyyyyyyyyyy

  • Wow, that is one awesome woman, taking care of all of those kids.

  • @StefanoFan27 Mother of the year

  • @micboy23 fucking NAZI those blacks should KILL you for that comment

  • @Paramedic18791 actually probably a big blob of chocolate moose....

  • @xfire336 Well how would you feel if you were a baby and just been thrown 40 feet down out of a window?

  • @xfire336 smh

  • Throw a sheet out so they have something to catch the kids with. I would have been terrified especially since they were not my kids. She had a lot of courage to even attempt to save those kids.

  • @mangoliouskiwi yeah I was thinking the same thing. and they said it was freezing out..i wouldve thrown all the blankets out there so they could wrap the kids up too.

  • @mangoliouskiwi if they threw a sheet out, the sheet might have ripped from impact, or slipped from the peoples hands, or hit the ground because they couldn't hold it tight enough, so it would've have done any good.

  • notice how the fire alarm sounds like a schoolbell well nowadays the alams are much better because they electronic and loud and obnoxious so as to get your attention.

  • this reminds me on mr deeds with adam sandler climed a tree and help a old lady becuse she would not leave with out her seven cats so adam sandler drops them out the window and they are flying evrey were and the old ladys screaming

when he gets the old lady out she bounces like a basketball becouse she was so fat hahaha

  • Why have you a segment that allgood2000 has already uploaded

  • @watsyorproblum41 because this is the original CBS version and it has scenes that we viewers don't know about like the fire alarm scene.

  • Rescue 911's opening shows a firetruck in DC, which is from this story

  • I believe this was posted by allgood2000. I live in a suburb just outside DC, so I was here when it happened

  • @davinp The version I posted was the edited FAM version, this is the CBS version. My version doesn't have the scene where the maintenance workers pull the fire alarm and radio the office, or the scene where the fire trucks are dispatched.

  • I am only taking a hunch but that fire was probably caused by bad wiring or a smoldering cigar or cigarette.

  • @NDW85 I remember when seeing this segement before it was said the cause was due to flamable materials (paint) to close to the stove

  • @davinp You may be thinking about "911 Smoke-Filled Apartment" from Episode 219.

  • if you watch the intro and this segment listen for the ringing fire alarm that's in the intro you'll know it's from this segment.

  • 2:18 audio surprise revealed from intro when you hear that ringing bell it's actually from this segment.

  • this episode didn't need that solarized fire engine LOL because it's from this segment., i think the editors who made this segment should've left out the animated version of the firetruck that's in this segment as it would ruin the viewer's surprise?

  • can barely hear it.

  • Most of the people are killed by smoke and toxic fumes.

Except when they get hit by a fireball that jets out of nowhere, in which case they burn alive.

And it's not like dying of smoke inhalation is significantly better than dying from a fireball anyway.
