i grew up in the maldives, and still go back there every year. thankfully, i had the sense to get a diving license once i got a bit older, and now i go diving with sharks when and where possible when i'm back home. currently a zoology major in college, and planning to make shark conservation my field of work. money's not gonna be too good, but meh. just look at them. these fish deserve saving a lot more than most humans do.
You're angry at other divers invading a shark's 'personal space' and yet you're quite happy to whiz around in motor boats above other fish, not to mention the cost to the environment of all the aeroplanes and motor boats to get you and your crew to the sharks in the Maldives.
Engines aside, it was brilliant footage and I wish I could free dive like the lovely Tanya. I can only get down about five meters!
How can she say that about people on a whale shark snorkeling trip? OK so he shouldn't have tried to grab it but of course non free diving champions also want to swim with whale sharks. It's alright for her using everyone's television license money to fly around the Maldives landing as and when she pleases to find sharks. Would she really be in a position to preach if she wasn't handed everything on a plate, having to save for years for a trip of a lifetime to the Maldives.

She doesn't actually seem that scared of sharks (I'm scared of sharks and if I was making a program about it you wouldn't see me swimming with them in the intro). Why not just make a program about a posh surfer chick who loves swimming with sharks.
i've been lucky enough to swim and dive with 4 whale sharks and they were, quite possibly, the most amazing underwater experiences of my life ! BUT........... they're plankton feeders and harmless to humans so why she's bigging up swimming with one is beyond me.
