Anyone what type of manual transmission they used back then? I see him reaching for a gear lever... but is it just one of those sequential ones, 'semi automatic'? that is, they just have to flip it up or down to change gear?

I believe it's a sequential gearbox, just like the ones used today apart from the flappy paddles that didn't catch on until the 90's.

it was in 1991, this McLaren had a six speed manual "H" pattern gearbox. Senna had to movie the gear stick forward or backward and left or right.

Great vid, but I don't see the need for putting in music. The engine is music enough.
