I've cried so much over a video before. I've been thinking about grief over the lost lately and my two cats. My male was a stud, jumping from one female to another like nothing, so there had to have been some kind of connection between them other than just making babies.
I have two cats and i didn't think i would cry so much lol. big deal a dead cat and another probably not realizing its dead yet. he was just kneading but when he just sat by her copse, then tried again, i just started crying my eyes out it was so sad. its like you can tell that he knew what was about to happen. i didn't think grief could come to cats but after seeing this, i don't know why i thought so.

It's sad that a cat died, but that cat is not trying to give a 'heartmassage'. If cats have any concept of CPR I'll eat my hat. the living cat is a male and the dead one was a female. the male cat is in heat. it wants to have s.. with the dead cat, you know. well, sad it seems to be but this is just a display of animal instinct of doing the thing. the male cat is doing the stimulation and not as if the male cat is doing the CPR (can't blame the male cat).

this footage would have a different title if the tire of the car was not there. we could have seen what i'm talking about (but if you would observe closely, there's some indications of it - the attempt on the 50th sec mark and the back of the head bite- there are only 2 occassions when cat does this, 1) when a baby cat is being carried by its mom; 2) when a male cat is having some s.. with its partner).
so, cheer up! there maybe some other animal footage that truly displays affection.

Yes, this concerned cat is trying to revive the other; can sense that he/she is injured. No "heartmassage": the cat doesn't have that specific intent. This kind of massage is instinctive; a mark of affection that goes back to kittenhood, when they kneaded their mom's belly for milk. These two were probably not mates, unless raised together. More likely they were playmates, members of the same household. It does wring your heart.

I have two cats and i didn't think i would cry so much lol. big deal a dead cat and another probably not realizing its dead yet. he was just kneading but when he just sat by her copse, then tried again, i just started crying my eyes out it was so sad. its like you can tell that he knew what was about to happen. i didn't think grief could come to cats but after seeing this, i don't know why i thought so.

They can feel "instinctual" emotions such as fear, annoyance, boredom and love (which is instinctual, as anyone who has ever been in love would know). What they lack, however, is meta-emotions, which are emotions in response to an emotion. For example, they can feel anger with feeling vengeful or sorrow without feeling guilt, etc. This is due to a lack of self-awareness.

It's sad that a cat died, but that cat is not trying to give a 'heartmassage'. If cats have any concept of CPR I'll eat my hat. Does thiat mean that every time my cat does that to my legs she's really trying to help me? And when she does it to the sofa/carpet too? If you watch whole footage, at one point the cat actually humps his friend. I'm not sure what's going on, and there's probably some kind of affection present, but necrophilia is involved somewhere, disguised by the sad music.
