  • G.W.Bush couldn't even spell intel. He was the dumbest damn president ever. He had eight years to catch this guy, ignored all the real intel, and went after Saddam instead which had no ties to Bin Laden. Bin Laden even condemned Sadam and called him and infidel. G.W.Bush in his own words stated it wasn't important where Bin Laden was. Obviously, based on the large crowds, it was important to someone. I only wish the rest of you racist fucks would have been killed along with him!!!

  • @lwilliams16 It's racist bigots like the tea partly, promoting tax breaks for donald trump and women delivering babies in the street for lack of medicare and pro-life fanatacism, who have sent this country into a tailspin. It's only until these racist, fake christian antichrist pricks actually die of old age that this country will be great again. I had no idea america was so racists, but anyone who votes republican should be ashamed of themself. REPUBLICAN = ANTICHRIST, REPUBLICAN = RACIST

  • Nobel Peace Prize going to an American - What a fucking joke.... The biggest WAR MONGERS in the world getting a peace prize... that just wrong

  • You're an idiot and you're jealous.

  • Good points. I agree, "We should all be proud of him." Thanks.

  • wow she sounds diplomatic!

  • I can see the good strategy in making nice on the face of it.

But seriously. The overwhelming reaction has been ranging from bewilderment to outright disgust or ridicule.

Onama is a Marxist ... he intends to gut America. It's no more a secret any more than the fact that Al Gore faked the Global Warming Raod Show he put on and subsequently got his own nobel badge of idiocy.

  • Actually, the overwhelming reaction, here and every other place in the world, was positive. And as one State Dept spokesperson said, it's a whole lot nicer when you're trying to accomplish things diplomatically if the world is tossing awards at you instead of shoes

  • stealth63 says ..." a whole lot nicer when you're trying to accomplish things diplomatically if the world is tossing awards at you instead of shoes .."

Once ... it is only the supporters of freedom and democracy who we ought to maintain a friendly attitude. Do you suppose 'shoe tosser' represents anyone who we ought to respect and support and who is instinctively in alignment with freedom and democracy?

Appeasement is not respected and does not pay a peace dividend. It encourages violence.

  • You seem to believe that the US always supported freedom and democracy in its foreign policy. This is very naive. The US supported many oppressing regimes in South America and the Middle East. (operation ajax eg)

  • you know what also encourages violence....invading other countries. Just saying.

  • You idiot do not even know what Marxism is. So please shut up. I do not know any American that has seriously studied the "Marx Engels Werke". You are just full with stupid prejudices. You cant differ between stalinism, social democrats, Bauer/Lenin/Mao/Stalin/Poulanzas/Brandt/Mitterand. You just put the label "marxism" on different movements and then argue "marxism" = bad so "this movement" = bad.

    Silly!

  • This woman is correct, though it makes me wonder. If she was a top advisor for McCain/Palin... did they just ignore her completely or is she a terrible strategist? Their campaign was dreadful.

  • we should all be excited about our president winning the Nobel peace prize

  • Cap in trade was like NAFTA on steroids. In case you don't already know, NAFTA cost us millions of jobs in this country so corporations could move out without penalty. Why do we the people allow things like the Camin Islands with buildings that only have mailboxes? The most important change we need is a president who really changes things for all us little people. That's the one that deserves a NOBEL PRIZE. Oh yeah, we had one. His name was Kennedy. Not the Chappaquiddick kind either.

  • Trade agreements is what has made US rich i the first place. You all of the sudden going to change that?

  • Well the last one worked great. Keep it up. Are you touched?

So because he died, Obamass should get for doing nothing? You are touched.

Nice to meet this page TROLL/SHILL. Now F*ck off.

  • I have no idea what your talking about. And Obama didn't get it for nothing. You might consider it nothing. But thats you.

So let me say it again. Obama got the prize for lowering the temperature in international politics, for open up a dialog with other religions and for starting a renewed international cooperation.

Its not for not being Bush. Thats ignorant. The prize doesn't work like that. Nor is it for hope or future efforts. It is what it is. No more.

  • Let me say it again. YOUR USING A TROLL/SHILL ACCOUNT.

  • wth.. No I'm not. This is my own account and I've used it for years. I just don't post/make my own videos. I just view the clips and news articles here. And even if this somehow was a troll or shill account. Listen to my words. It doesn't change what I say at all. Did I not structure my argument properly? Was I not coherent and decent? Just because I write something doesn't make me a troll. And let me remind you that it was you who commented on my original comment. Not the other way around.

  • we should be excited about Obama's win

  • in czech republic/poland people are very happy that the aggressions against russia (rockets) have been stopped. I think your US media never really has shown an objective analysis of that. The people did not want these rockets. Only some stupid governments who wanted to please the US. thanks for stopping that sick aggression!

Why do the democrats not promote their successes? Here on youtube there are many people that say, obama hasnt achieved anything. That is wrong.

  • It is not the duty of the American President to appease other nations, good diplomacy nonewithstanding.

He exists to defend the American people and defend the US Constitution. If there is a disproportionate percentage of the world who are either under the direct governance of, or whose leadership is heavily influenced by Communits and/or Deep Socialists, would you expect the US President to acquiesce to them simply as an homage to ... tranquility perhaps?

    We know our allies.

  • nonameposter says ..."The people did not want these rockets. Only some stupid governments who wanted to please the US. ..."

Yes ... I am certain there is a great groundswell of Poles and Czechs yearning for the wonderfuls days of living under the boot heels of Soviet leadership.

    Nice try comrade.

  • We do not want your rockets. These rockets have not meant security but danger. We do not want a second cold war, but peace in Europe and between Europe and Russia. The aggressive provocations of the Bush administration towards Russia were mad and dangerous and had to be stopped. We do not need more military but less.

  • @deewillyfree How is life since I got you kicked off sodahead? HAHAHAHAHAHHAAH

  • The Nobel Committee stated that what swayed them to award Obama had to do with all that he's done so far to shift the perception of America's place in the world from one of unilateral aggression to one of multilateral diplomacy, peace, and respect. It may not seem like much to us domestically, since we're focused inward. But what he's done for our country and it's place in the world so far has been tremendous. Often those who receive this award are in the midst of their achievements.

  • Finally an American who gets it. Jagland (the committee chairman) said later on that Obama has lowered the temperature in international diplomacy and allowed for a much cooler and thoughtful interaction between the parties around the world. That is important and it goes to the heart of what the Nobel Peace Prize is about.

  • That's almost funny. Gandhi didn't even get one, and this guy who has yet to show some of the CHANGE he spouted off about gets one? Wake up. Same wars +.5, P-Act ( go to the borders and see if you can walk across -you can), corporate welfare and in our gov, still not reading bills before there signed - 1300 with 300 last min added an the CARBON TAX. And you don't know where the $ goes - hint=NOT HERE, Protest by permit!??, torture prisons,Banker bailout- HOPE in one hand, and BUSH in the other.

  • Stop watching the pundits. And find out for yourself mate.

Gandhi was actually going to be awarded the prize the year he died. But he died before the announcement, its in the will that they can't give it post morten. Its in the protocol if you want to check it out for yourself.

But its not given to him because of what he's going to do. It is what it is. For his accomplishments. You might not like that. But quite honestly. Its not about you.

  • totally agree with muthser;

    it`s their prize, their rules.

so tired of americans expecting others to react differently than they themselves have or would, the `not in my backyard` attitude only holds water if other`s backyards are honored as being as valuable to them.

  • Please tell me that Nicole Wallace is not another example of the poisonous fruit of Mike Wallace's loins? Chris Wallace was bad enough, but I figure everybody can misfire at least once.

  • It is the Norwegian Parliament who appoints the Norwegian Nobel Committee, which then selects the Laureate for the Peace Prize.

It is largely used by the Norwegian governing party (socialists) to score internal political points.

All the other Nobel Prizes (the ones that still have merit, e.g. the science ones) are awarded by various politically independent Swedish institutions.

  • funny watching all the conservatives getting their panties in a knot over this

  • Sour. Grapes.

  • Why we would care is beyond me. The committee is only taking credibility from its own honor. They want to give political prizes, that is their prerogative.

It is kind of funny though. 9 months in, no particular large accomplishments = Nobel peace prize.

  • Joem how about you fuck off and suck your thumb, Obama did alot those 9months motherfucker, than bush did... and that is why he received the Nobel prize, but who give a shit about what you think? Nobody, you are the average dumb american out there what foxshit days, and fart the nights lol

  • NoMercy--

I notice you omit warmongering monster Kissinger from your list.

    A bit biased are we?

  • Kissinger Gave him his First Job out of College. and in a Interview on the WallStreet Trading Floor, Kissinger said He Feels Obama is the Perfect Person to bring in A Quote "Real New World Order". He is much more intelligent and Possesses much more Tact than Bush and thats where the Differences Stop.

  • Jimmy was not the worst President mother. Bush your father a year ago was the worst. Obama received Nobel prize for not being a BUSh YOU STUPID MOTHERFUCKER. Can´t you get that. THe world rejected the conservative redneck retarded dumb ass like you, dig a shithole

  • So all one has to do to earn a Nobel Peace Prize is not be as bad as Bush? If that is the case, where is mine? I want one....

  • This just shows how in the tank the whole NPP organizations are , they are bleeding liberals too just like Andrea!

  • undeserved

  • Congradulations President Obama for winning the NOBLE PEACE PRIZE...

oh how this pisses off the neo cons, the far right wing nuts and republicans and the suffers of Brain Shit Syndrome Birthers the Tea Partyers....and I love it....

    ha ha ha

  • lets be fair .. i'm anything But right wing but obama havne't done anything to deserve nobel piece prize ..

  • 42 White men vs. Barack Obama....A Black man becoming president is a fucking HELL of an accomplishment. Let's cut the bullshit. Being able to forge a coalition of White voters, Black voters, Asians, Hispanics...? Look at his Grant Park rally. No one got hurt, killed and nothing bad happened. If that isn't peaceful, you tell me what is.

  • uh wtf that have to do with piece .. Sure he promise to stop iraq war but at same time he's expanding afganistan war .. Even obama agree he doesn't deserve this, maybe in future but definatly not now

  • How can you give a man a NOBEL PEACE prize on the very same day he (NASA) launched an unprovoked attack on the moon? LOL

  • Now you're just being silly.

I do feel bad for Gidney and Cloyd though.

(& wonder how a certain squirrel and moose are doing these days and if they still reside near Frostbite Falls)

  • Humor...you're doing it right.

  • man, I'm all about Obama, but its hard to mix peace with these wars that are still going on. Bring Our Troops Home!!!! And legalize it and give gays their rights and give us a public option. Oh, and reinvestigate 9/11.

  • It would be nice if the GOP would stop being "snarky" with all of the issues they take on.

  • Granted it is more than a bit hypocritical for Republicans to hold disdain for the Prize being awarded to someone so unworthy of it. After all, it's Republican Policy that Obama has carried on with in his own term.

He learned well from that other Peace Prize winner Kissinger. Promote Peace, Wage War.

  • and what about Hitler and Stallin? They also won it

  • Precisely.

How do some many documented mass murders win esteemed prizes for promoting Peace?

Perhaps this is how that era gave genesis for Huxley to coin the term "doublethink."

The ability to hold two contradictory ideas at the same time and give them equivalency.

The Brave New World is upon us. War IS Peace.

  • maskedphrogg-

You need to separate "1984", from "Brave New World" in your mind. They are very different works, even though both are dystopian visions. "Doublethink" and "war is peace" are both from Orwell's "1984", not Huxley's BNW.

When you're done distinguishing between two works of fiction, you can start noticing the not-very-subtle differences between Republicans and Democrats in the USA. BHO and most of the Dems aren't the radicals I'd prefer, but it's silly to pretend they're the same.

  • Ouch!

Yes, rather silly mistake on my part, confusing Orwell for Huxley.

What differences? (btwn the two faces of the one party) Do you seriously consider different rhetoric to be substantial differences btwn two parties with common goals?

I notice you don't take exception with the overall claim from my post which does focus on concept not caricature. Is pretending R's and D's are different and separate parties an element of your practice of doublethink?

  • "Is pretending R's and D's are different..."

Let's pretend your city just flooded. Would you rather have GW Bush's FEMA running rescue and recovery efforts, or Bill Clinton's?

Yes, the Ds are more corporation- and military-friendly than I'd prefer. But there are real differences between the parties.

  • C'mon now, you can do better than a false dichotomy if you try a bit harder.

A Federally funded (by tax dollars no less) is not the only reasonable resolution.

If it's the city I live in the disaster plan should be made at a level close to the disaster. City and perhaps State. FEMA needs to keep it's hands out. Why so close? Those are where you find the ppl with the most knowledge of the resources threatened and needed to cope with likely disaster.

Try another angle to steal from my home.

  • No they did not.

Both were nominated. Neither was awarded.

It is interesting to note that Josef Stalin was nominated in both 1945 and 1948 for his efforts to end WWII. Which comes w/some irony considering it was Hitler who was a nominee in 1939.

  • The fact that the Nobel Committee actually AWARDED the Peace Prize to Henry Kissinger and Yasir Arafat (different times) proves they'll frequently award it to influential assholes who's behavior they're trying to modify for the better.

In the case of Obama, they're trying to set a positive precedent by rewarding U.S. presidents for NOT being war mongering assholes who start wars on false pretenses and show utter contempt for diplomacy and international cooperation.

    I don't blame them.

  • and you were on such a roll....

yeah, even the media is pretty much presenting it that way, they aren't phrasing it as appeasement but that's what it is. Framing the award as a means to get him to grow a conscience and change his behaviour.

  • That's not exactly what I meant. I meant the Nobel Committee was making an attempt to change American foreign policy by giving a huge and obvious (and possibly premature) reward to the first American president in years who has facing in the right direction. I don't think they intended for it to modify Obama's behavior, per se. Just set an example for future American leaders. Not EXACTLY analogous to Arafat or Kissinger.

  • Untrue. That's a common misconception.

Kissinger actually one a "Piece Prize" for nailing Jill St. John.

  • LOLZ!

    tnx, I needed that

    :-D

  • it's still fair to ask why he got the award so early on in his term. i support him, but i asked the same thing. most people are surprised about it.

yea snarky was a somewhat polite way of saying "critical" because the word sounds cute. and it's always jerkish to be critical of someone for winning an award. it's a sign of a sore loser.

  • Get a life you brainwashed derelict!

  • bigc028282-

Thanks for the rote recitation of standard wingnut talking points and paranoid fantasies. Two problems though: you didn't tell us to "think for ourselves" or not be "sheeple".

Let me guess: if anyone asks you to back up any of your claims, you'll tell us it's not your responsibility to do our research for us.

    BTW, what's a "penty bomber"?

  • I just assume that he means Panty Bomber.

  • ''lets all just accept and move on" just like we do with every other issue.

  • Dude if I hear somebody use the word snarky in real life I'm going to jail.

  • Dane Cook

  • snarky lol

  • I can hear it now, "The trip to Copenhagen was some kind of secret deal to clinch the award!"..."What is he doing getting peace prizes when he has work to do here!"..."This is proof that he is the anti-Christ!(insert Biblical reference here)"

BTW, There are more than a few dead and/or tortured folk who think Kissinger's award was a bit out of order.

  • He lost the Olympics!! Obama is scum.

He won the Nobel Prize!! Obama is scum.

Win or lose, the Republicans will always hate him.

  • @kevmo99 It's not Obama they hate. It's the idea of a black man running the country. You have to remember that many of these republicans are old and gray. They grew up in a time of segregation where black people couldn't even drink from the same fountain. It was engrained in them the blacks are inferior. Obama stands in the face of everything they believe. This is why they created a tea party. They want America to go back to the the days of the Boston Tea Party. Just plain RACIST and ANTICHRIST!

  • Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize, Republicans declare they are against peace because it's a sounds like something Hitler would do.

  • HItler actually did talk about peace....he also had a mustache and wore pants.

wait a second...Obama wears pants. Is there is a connection? Well somebody has to ask the tough questions.

  • Hitler wrote a book. Obama wrote a few books. He must be worse than Hitler....

The pants cemented it. They are exactly alike.

  • You're on to something. Lets put on our tinfoil hats and tune into Limbaugh for our marching orders.

    yeeeh haaaw!

  • because advocate for diplomacy and has moved the US in the right direction. He helped pass a resolution to try and get rid of nukes. No president in recent history has not done even half of that.

  • Go to the Nobel website for your answer

  • Read the statement of the committee: Obama won for strengthening diplomacy and using less (military) power after eight years of cow-boy diplomacy by Bush and his bloodthirsty neo-conservative friends.

  • I think it was premature, but they are judging this from a different perspective. The Obama they see is ot the Obama struggling with domestic policies and healthcare, what they see is the sharp that the UN is relevant again, Susan Rice is the first UN Amb who is also cabinet member, in Europe they have big issues with the muslim world and Obama's speeches to Turkey and Egypt is welcome by them, nuclear+iran+torture+recognition of previous treaties ignored by Bush, but I still think is too soon.

  • Why do Republicans hate America?

  • because they hate themselves for not coming out of the closet.

  • Because they're actually Nazis for the New World Order, that's why.

  • Comment removed

  • @Richardgwm Because they are the seed of the DEVIL. Think about it. Who would cut aid to the poor when the very bible they claim to uphold condemns it? Who would find create ways to funnel more money to rich people stating it would stimulate the ecomony, and do so by cutting programs that help the poor? In the story of Lazarus and the rich man, you see this type of thinking. HELL will be full of REPUBLICANS!!! They are nothing but a bunch of racist antichrist demons posing as christians.

  • @Richardgwm And it should not surprise you either. The bible says that even Satan is transformed into an angel of light. I could not believe that Oral Roberts Ministries endorsed donald trump for president. Anyone but a black man I suppose. Yet this lowly negro manages to do what all the red necks couldn't do. This is nothing but the hand of God choosing the base things of the world and the things despised by the wicked to confound these wicked oppressors and children of murderers.

  • uh oh

somebody's been listening to Sean Hannity

and actually buys the crap he's selling

Aren't you just a little bit ashamed of being dim witted enough to believe that Fox really is "fair and balanced"?

  • you're a dick ... that's just my liberal brain thinking for itself.

  • If you know anything about the Nobel peace prize and why it's given you already have the answer.

Do a little research, then the head scratching may stop. If it doesn't, use some ointment.

  • lmao republicans are gonna have a drawn out debate about this hahahahaha

10 bucks say they are going to have a resolution of disapproval for the nobel prize committee by the end of the day

This couldnt have come at a better time Hello Public option. Obama dont waste this!!!

  • nicole wallace hated spalin. i wish she would talk about spalin instead.
