So, while there is not absolute proof, some historians and biblical scholars strongly suspect that the idea of Lucifer/Satan being in opposition to God, as opposed to working for God, came to the Hebrews (later Jews and then Christians) during their enslavement by the Persians. Not taking a position here but food for thought to both sides.

there is no traditional satanism. it is true that satan was mentioned before LaVey, but that doesnt mean there was satanism. it was first defined by LaVey. before LaVey, there were only cults whit no consistent philosophy.
what is presented on sites like Joy of Satan shoul be called spiritual satanism, not traditional - it came after LaVey.

So, while there is not absolute proof, some historians and biblical scholars strongly suspect that the idea of Lucifer/Satan being in opposition to God, as opposed to working for God, came to the Hebrews (later Jews and then Christians) during their enslavement by the Persians. Not taking a position here but food for thought to both sides.

At the time the Persians practiced the religion of Zaostrianism. This religion had a view of the world as a battle ground between good and evil forces that directly and completely opposed each other. It was after the enslavement and then eventual freedom of the Hebrews from the Persians that the story of Lucifer's rebellion and renaming by God as Satan, and the casting of Satan into hell/hades, began to appear in ancient texts.

Historical note. Before the Persians conqoured and enslaved the Hebrews (old testament days), the figure of Lucifer "light bringer"(later Satan), was that of a prosecuting attorney, working for God, to make the case for each soul to not be allowed into have due to their sins. Then God would judge. Nothing in texts previous to that time says he was an opponent of God.
