  • Il ne faut personne a côté x) et les voisins lol

Pouce vert si vous aimez la vidéo

  • Damn sweet..........(N&W)

  • TTTTRAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNN

  • P.S. GET OFF MAH DAMN LAWN lol

  • O.O How much did it cost?

  • LOL i want one for when im riding my bike LOL

  • Man I wish I had one of those.....nice!!

  • Awesome video!I love the way that horn sounds.I usually hear those kind of horns because freight trains run right behind my house and I am a huge railroader fan. That looked familiar of NS trains because on my HO Scale model train it was built the same way. Thanks for sharing the info on the horns!

  • Put that on your car!

  • it's more effective to get those slow moving drivers outta the left hand lane than the 1 finger salute. LOL Rear facing horns are for the tailgaters. :D

  • that is a train horn

  • Id love to get a set but id get into trouble with them!!!!! LOL XD

  • nice horn, lol

  • Sounds like it came from an Amtrak P42DC locomotive! Very nice!

  • Sounds kinda like a NS K5LA

  • Comment removed

  • I want them on my motorbike!

  • Why are the last two horns to the right backwards?

  • @TheChosenOne1960 THEY JUST ARE!!! LOL JK. The railroads turn those two bells backwards for multi-directional signaling. Helps with the volume when they run the locomotives backwards.

  • @NSAaron Or, like on a K5HL, so that the engineers don't go deaf.

  • @TheChosenOne1960 That is the way they were made. When on Top of a Train, the sound would blow to the Front and Rear to make sure it was heard.

  • @TheChosenOne1960 Thats one way you know for sure that it is a K5LAR-24 other than the unique sound. Most modern K5LAs are all bells foward while the K5HL has 3 on top that are foward and two on bottom that are back. Then the K5LAR-24 has 3 foward and two back. It is interesting when you think about how you can distinguish horns from one another other than the sounds they make.

  • where in nc are you im in charlotte ill buy those horns from you if your selln them

  • Comment removed

  • you must have had one then since you know so much about them

  • hypothetically speaking, would it be possible to take a horn off an actual train in a small amount of time?

  • probobly not. most of them sit there for years and it would definetly take more than one person.

  • ya i really want to get one but not sure where i can find one or of that quality for under 700

  • well I mean it takes some asking around..but i ust got a new cast p5 for $150 so it's possible i guess haha

  • Where can I get a version of this horn from?

  • you know where i could buy one of the same versions u have there? Love the sound and echo and i would pay for one similar to this. If u have any info please reply =) also,,,, if anyone knows where i could obtain an air tank for the horn to would be great

  • Check Ebay, they often have the K5LA, do not buy directly from the company...as for air tanks, Air Horns of Texas (aka grover air horns) has tanks and compressors as individuals, for plumbing, local hardware store, lowes, home depot

  • type in airchime on amazon

  • BEAUTIFUL K5LA!! Sounds like the ones Amtrak California has!

  • sounds like shit in my opinion. you want a real K5LA get a large bore #5. or a Leslie 5

  • This is on 1/4 inch to 3/8s airline on not a very high pressure, take a look at one of videos i have of it mounted on a C420 or GP30 and then we will see if it sounds like shit, trust me, this thing is an angle of music compared to the 2nd and 3rd gen K-5LAs.

  • it's still not a large bore. and FYI it sounds like a 2nd gen with the loud 4a bell. 3rd gens had the screwed up 5 and 3 bells. 4th gens sound very odd.

  • i don't have the money for a large bore, not to mention buying a new one means a new generation one, 2nd generation is the one's that started showing up in like 2003 or so, the 3rd gens are all fucked up, i'm unaware that there is a 4th gen, i have heard airchime had a fire and lost the old 1st gen castings.

  • the second gens were around 1989-maybe 2003. you hear a lot of them on CSX AC44's 1-499, then the 3rd gens are on the NS 9700 series CW40-9's and newer (500's and 511X's) CSX AC44's. i've got a video of a 4th gen on my videos, it's Q313 or something like that.

  • They need build new castings that replicate the old 1st gens for the K-5LA and maybe that would remedy the shitty horn problem of today. I figure my K-5LA 1st or 2nd Gen.

  • This will make my neighbor pissed

  • Cool!

  • I want that in my car!!!

  • that horn blows

  • THIS HORN BLOWS??? r u serious this is an old cast horn.. these have melody, unlike those newcasts or over the road SHITS

  • I want these on my bicycle

  • is this one of those old cast ones or the new third generation?

  • OLD CAST!!!, no way in hell this is 2nd or 3rd, damn, the 3rd gen suck so bad lol

  • lol good. I hate the new ones.

  • put this on my car! lmao

  • so this is basically a k5la with the #2 and #4 bells reversed?

  • pretty much, standard on all frieght railroads.

  • not BNSF!!!

  • Does BNSF use Nathan K3H horns?

  • They used the K3H on their pumpkin C44-9Ws but the K-3LA is standard

  • i would do anything to get a train horn, how much did u pay for it?

  • Did you get it for free?

  • nope lol

  • how much did this cost?

  • Sweet Sound, I love it! A horn like that does not come cheap.

  • nope, but i can point in the direction of getting one.

  • both hocking valley scenic railroads main units, a GP10, and a GP7. have these. I've been looking for this sound for a long time. loudest horn ever and the best sounding

  • Reminds me of when I used to stay at my grandparents homes over in Helenwood TN .

  • Love the horn man...saw and heard them on other videos of yours...

  • rofl lmfao yeah wel thats as loud as it get.s

  • Dude that sure beats my Leslie Tyfon A-125-247

    and my truck horn!!!

    Any more horns???

    Cool video

    RailsandRoads

  • Dude, ILL BUY IT LMAO. I ben looking for that perfect sound for about 1 yr. I love to hornblast and love scaring the be jeebers outs girls(they love it)

  • I want one for my truck...

so i can scare people at the beach!!

  • i'm a collector not a hornblaster, lol, i'm not trying to lable u as one or anything, just buying a horn just to make people mad is kinda a threat to the hobby and could get the law involved in stuff.

just a little tip my friend, it would be funny though.

Can't say too much either lol

I scared a guy at a campout we had once at 3 am. Me and some other guy got a funny idea to roll my 4wheeler with the horn mounted on the front in front of this guys tent. I was quite the fun lol.

  • I understand, That isnt my ONLY reason I want one too.

I think there amazing and I love how they echo. I'm a modelrailroader and thats all I own...I would like to pick up something from REAL railroads. Thats my OTHER reason.

  • No rock band should be without one!

  • Great sounding K5LA! Say that is the first time I ever saw a set mounted on a garden tiller! LOLs! Thanks for the video! I'm going to record my K5lA on here soon, I love the sound of them!

  • Sounds just like the ones MARC has on their equipment. A few of them sound different tho.

  • How much is this horn?

  • this one i'm not telling the price on. But, you can get one around 700 up. I have seen them as low as 500

  • very nice and it sounds like a good price too I have a P5 that came off a former NS C36-7 unit about to be mounted on the top of my ford duelly truck and the grahm white valve to blow it

  • I wish the C36s would still be on the rails. I miss those old GEs.

  • they were nice units for sure

  • NSAaron----I believe that the reason they don't sound like your horns, or like the older horns, is Nathan has gotten cheap making the damn things, plus instead of a #1 bell, they threw in a #1L, so you have #1L,2,3a,4a,5. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was told that.

  • well, it's new cast. the 5 and 4a bells aren't in tune

  • i got those on my suv men i love them!!!!

  • That's simply a beautiful sound, doesn't get any better.

  • Wow, sounds absolutely perfect!

  • Are any of you going to be at the horn honk in oak ridge this year. I need to know.

  • Isn't this a K5LAR45, because the 4th and 5th bell are reversed? Nice sound BTW.

  • no, i reversed bells 2 and 4A

  • Are K5LA's louder than Leslie S-5T's?(PLEASE ANSWER)

  • If there's no sound restrictors, or covers on the front of the horn, then it can perform at maximum. There is a type of modified Leslie S-5TFX, which is extremely loud. The answer to your question is that the Leslie can be louder. If there are no sound restrictors.

  • NSAaron, your horn sounds AWESOME! K5LAR24 horns are my favorite horns.

    Later!

    Jacob D.

  • Very, very awesome video! That Nathan K5LAR24 horn sounds very loud and it's like a Norfolk Southern, CSX, and Amtrak horns!

But, Bessemer & Lake Erie (B&LE) has leslie and Nathan horns.

    Later!

  • I agree with what you said at 1:00. The newest K5LA's today are out of tune but the ones that were made back between the 1990's and 1970's all have near perfect tuning.

  • It's cool you have a K5LA (R24) but the Leslie Supertyfons are WAY better.

  • I like K5LA's better..

  • I like P5s better.

  • No way, K5's RULE ALL!!!!!

  • That is your opinion.

  • And so is yours.

  • Yes I know.

  • what on earth did you have this thing mounted on? looked like some kind of scooter.

  • LMFAO!!!! it's a rotter tiller!!!! LOL

  • haha wow!!!!....i guess you can honk at the dirt if it doesnt want to dig up in between the blades now though lol.

  • LOL

  • they use these and K5HLs.

  • NSAaron! Where can you buy these horns, how much do they cost, and how big of an air compressor do you need to blast the horn!?!

  • now u just need to put that in a car ;)

  • lol, i have it on my 4-wheeler now, lol

  • how did you get that from an engineer?? and how can i get my hands on one just like that??

  • Locomotive horns are on ebay, and they're all stolen.

  • Sad but true.

  • lol all stolen? I got 2 from Ebay and neither were stolen. That's a pretty false statement. SOME are stolen but MOST are not.

  • A couple of museums told me that they had their train horns stolen. One museum even welded their horns on so people won't steal them easily.

  • I agree that they are stolen but how is that every horn on Ebay? Nathan/Airchime sells directly on Ebay and I'm pretty sure they don't steal their own horns.

  • Cost?

  • It...Sounds.......BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

  • I hate you so much! Very well tuned!

  • That is soooo sick! Nice! You should be blowing it more. That would be great for here, i would wake everyone up at 4am.. hahha.

  • K-5 airchime bells with 2 and 4 reversed.

  • I have 2 would you like to buy them for 10k I paid 800

  • what is funny is the horn is just over our septic tank, which backed up not to long before this, hince the dirt next to the sidwalk

  • Go to a retirement home and!!..... :D

  • Its the same horn as a K5LA the "R" just means the #2 & #4 bells are reversed. Amature.

  • 10k? you're crazy. 2 to 3k at most.

  • That is the most awesome Airchime K-5LAR24 I've heard...Better than the Airchime K-5LA at least. Magnificent tuning!

  • AWSOME!!

How much does 1 of those cost?

  • I Knew it sounded like an NS Horn

  • are you fucking retarted? That is at least 500$ idiot

  • They run more than that...It was a joke though...why don't you take a chill.?

  • ok, calm it down please, this one was 900

  • bet your neighbors love you

  • DUDE, where DID YOU GET THAT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow, i gotta give this guy some credit. That horn sounded BEAUTIFUL!!!! of all the horns not attached to trains that people own, thats the one that sounds the best.

  • nice noise makers, wish i had a set of those! cool stuff, thanks for the look

  • dude i love that

  • You can buy them from, Hornblasters, Ebay, Grover Air horns of Texas, and from some people you know that work for the railroad.

  • Horn Blasters is way too expensive

  • yeah, they tend to sell them just to anoy people that is why real horn collecters don't like em'

  • Enjoyable hearing a nicely tuned Nathan K5LA series (I'm also partial to the K5H). Both pleasant and melodic. Please post some more. Thanks :)

  • The same one on this video. LOL

  • Nice to see another fan of NS :) I live in a city which has a pretty busy line going through it. Thats why central NC pwns :)

  • NS is a good railroad now. Most of the routes are senic.

  • I'd just about kill for one of these things!

  • You can but a restored one from Grover, Airhorns of Texas

  • I want a k5lla

  • I wanna get a nathan K5LA. and mount it on my truck. :P

  • I heard them all day today. The train were sounding for the derailment in Lancing. We live two miles from there.

  • I hear them all day. about every 25 mins lol. i live about 2 blocks away from a crossing so its loud.

  • Loud, you should hear a NS SD60 at run 8 on a misty night at 2 am. That's loud.

  • I live next to a 1.8 grade...One night...I saw 4 Dash 9-40CW's hooked up in notch 8..HOLY SHIT

  • Talk about a ground shaker LOL.

  • CSXJoe is such a friggen liar...

  • how am i lieing?? you know for a fact im 2 blocks away from the tracks. and i dont care what you think monkey boy.

  • If you guys want to gripe, go somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!!!Not here PLEASE LEAVE ME OUT OF THIS!!!!!! So take this somewhere else or I'll block both of you!!!!!!! Got it? Sorry I am so mad but If this is between you and Travis, then keep it that way PLEASE!!!!!!

  • i want to get a horn like that so i can mount it on my bike cuz i travel to lots of places. were do you get that at

  • One, That horn is as big as your bike I bet and fitting a compressor or 5 gallon tank on it is over-kill. Two, you can get this from Grover, Airhorns of Texas. They restore train horns. Just look for the train section on there site. Oh, you can mount it on cars and trucks.

  • It's cool that you know a former NS engineer, he must be very nice!

Nice sound on it, i'm sure other people didn't understand that if it was a real train passing or a horn tooken off a diesel locomotive.

  • Hey thanks. I'm not the only one with a train horn in town. I heard a guy on the same day blowing an Ex. Conrail RS-3LR horn.
