I would be grateful if the Higher Self could explain how God is "the destroyer". When destructive events happen on a large scale, I tend to question why God is destroying life there in seemingly violent ways. This would immensely help me understand my own violent nature as i tend to feel this strong destructive force in me whenever I see corruption, tyranny, oppression in the slightest way.

The original teachings of what you speak is that God/Life has 3 aspects - to create, to sustain and to destroy. This is a very simple understanding of life.

@TashaLuvv I have not studied the Mayan Calendar extensively, but I am aware that Wednesday was the beginning of a new significant cycle. I did have a rather unique experience on Wednesday.
We must remember that in every moment we are ascending into knowledge of our True Self. There are greater periods of growth that happen in relation to other people, planetary energy, cosmic energies, etc. Continually the growth towards Self continues in every moment as we experience more of our self.
Higher Self is not God. Higher self is awareness of oneness with the CREATION. New Age theosophies want us to believe we are all God and that the consciousness matrix is the CREATOR. God still remains separate from this higher self. Jesus Christ is our mediator. Not some archetypal consciousness of "Higher-self." He is the CREATOR extending his hand to reunite with the fallen creation. True divine intervention at its best. Enlightenment is not salvation.

@50tolose I learned it through personal experience. I have studied many teachings and systems, then practiced and applied the knowledge in my own life. The more I experienced these spiritual realities, energy centers, deeper consciousness, etc, the better understanding I gained of all these things.
Personal experience is the only true teacher. Learning from others helps, but we must apply the learning to make it personal knowledge.
