  • There are ALREADY Gays and Lesbians in the military. Why not treat them with the respect they deserve. If you can't handle a homo next to you in combat or the shower, it's because of your OWN insecurities FEAR leads to HATE.

    Evolve already!!

  • Homosexuals should not serve for the same reason that women should not be in combat MOS's, it adds a sexual dynamic into close knit units and disracts from good order and disipline.

  • So what you are saying is that the people serving in the military are not professional enough to handle serving next to a homosexual? No one cares what ones sexual orientation is- just that the person can aim and shoot.

  • "Undermines good discipline and order"...That's a crock. Look up the Sacred Band of Thebes some time. Or try Alexander the Great. And let us not forget the achievments of Tom Dooley either. The "Espirit de Corps" was forged on the battlefield and not to be taken into individual interpretations.

  • "The law respects the desire for human modesty.."

Unless of course you are an enemy combatant-in which case the US reserves the right to strip you naked, and force you to perform simulated homosexual acts.Oh the irony.

  • Homosexuals have no place in the military. Openly gay soldiers in close-nit combat units would destroy the espirt de corps and disipline of these units. But that does'nt seem to be important to the social engineers that have been undermining the military every chance they get since the Clinton years.

  • you're a dumbass! They have more right than anyone cause they're more couragous than most people.

  • It has not been shown to be a credible detriment in the past, I don't know why it would be in the future. If our soldiers are actually so absurdly unprofessional, unstable, and immature that you believe they are unable to function if a known gay person is around, then we have far more problems than just this issue. Give them some credit.

  • The "Espirit de Corps" was forged on the battlefield and not to be taken into individual interpretations.

  • This is exactly what they said about blacks joining the military as well. . . Get a grip.
