Yes it does, I'm told that you need to use brutal fang 1000 times to get 107 hits.

I'm guessing the cap is 107 hits because it does 7 hits by default. Therefore, you're technically adding 100 hits to the move by rythmically tapping the Artes button. (after 1000 uses of course)
