  • Thanks Mitch for all your post! = )

  • Happy Paddy's day! I got up and solo-moshed during "Bottle of Smoke". More Scotch Now!

  • Shit wave just flushed the dirty old town in Japan to the gutter.... :(

    p.s. keep WINNING

  • At least I can still see the Pogues live on Youtube when young Shane was still a stage presence. Saw him @ Guiness Fleadth.......could barley hold in his sick . Love him tho, hope to see him again before 2012!

  • what's first song's name?

  • @lancesio Rainy night in Soho

  • I'd merry him! If ever he askes me ...

  • you got to love the pogues

  • going to see em on sat (18th dec) and i can't fucking wait. god i hope Shane'll be there...

  • Shane is a CELTIC supporter, that's enough for me......Hail-Hail.........!!!

  • the fact that they're wasted and yet play/sing better than 97% of other bands shows how truly great Shane and the boy are! Underrated to obscurity..Best Band In The World..deserve to be recognized as such..

  • anyone know where to find the video with the oroiginal lyrics of boys from the county hell......."my brother earned his medals raping gooks in vietnam"????

i came across it a couple year ago on here im pretty sure it was in japan, somewhere asian anyway! ta.

    long live shane!!!

  • @dynoweaf are they the original ? thought it was always at mai lei in vietnam

  • Man hes a beautiful creature!

  • drunks FTW!!!!! :D

  • Wow, everyone can be off, but shane is the bomb on Thousands....

If it wasn't for Metal and Irish Folk, I'd be dead now, I think

  • aaaaarrrrrrrrggggggghhhhh

  • fanx 4 posting i love the pogues

long live the god that is

    SHANE MACGOWAN

  • This is awesome! Thanx for sharing! I saw their concerts in Japan @Nakano SunPlaza back in 1990 or something.Karsty MacColl showed up for the "Fairytale..." & danced with Shane. Shane was totally drunk & fell down on the stage as holding his Vodka glass tight. He sang beautifully even when he tumbled though. All Irish living in Japan must have showed up & shouted "Pogue Mahone"! The other time was when Joe Strummer replaced Shane but most of Japanese kids missed Shane a lot.

  • I have a copy of that show without Shane and will get some of it posted soon. Mitch

  • Well done mitch26!, you have the hands of a surgeon. Shane is something else !.. You can take a bow.

  • Not my shoot, I'd have loved to have been there. I am going to see them at the 9:30 Club in March though.

  • Actually, I saw the Pogues in Japan a couple of years back, and the audience reaction was INSANE--one of the most pumped up crowds I've ever seen. I don't know what it was like in the 80's, but nowadays, if you go see a good band in Japan, you also get a great crowd that goes absolutely batshit.

  • One of the best quality videos, thanx! Only missing the audience excitement/sing-alongs you'd get in other countries.

  • Thanks for posting this. Hopefully it won't get pulled.

  • I love this 1st song. Is it on any of their records? SHane kicks ass!

  • It's Rainy Night in Soho - it was originally on the Poguetry in Motion EP. The original version is on the remastered CD of `Rum Sodomy & the Lash`, the later rerecorded version is on the latest compilation album `Ultimate Collection`

  • Legend.

  • ANYONE WHO BAD MOUTHS SHANE IS A JOKE AND IF THEY ARE IRISH A DISGRACE--- he might not be looking so good or even singing so good but he is a legend ...oh yes and he's a multi-million air who owns two pubs and a castle in the country can you say that?-no didn't think so awesome!!!

  • To all of you who say Shane is not doing well, or looking well, or ruined himself, just know that he has lived a life 10 times as full as nearly anyone else. He may not be perfect, but if he weren't the way he is, you wouldn't be listening to this beautiful music now. Shane may have fallen from grace, but he has done it better than anyone else.

God save Shane, the Pogues, and Ireland.

  • Yes Shane is still very much close to alive and the band has been doing reunion tours. You been in a bomb shelter the last few years?

  • does anybody know something about shane? Is he still alive?
