This is awesome! Thanx for sharing! I saw their concerts in Japan @Nakano SunPlaza back in 1990 or something.Karsty MacColl showed up for the "Fairytale..." & danced with Shane. Shane was totally drunk & fell down on the stage as holding his Vodka glass tight. He sang beautifully even when he tumbled though. All Irish living in Japan must have showed up & shouted "Pogue Mahone"! The other time was when Joe Strummer replaced Shane but most of Japanese kids missed Shane a lot.

Actually, I saw the Pogues in Japan a couple of years back, and the audience reaction was INSANE--one of the most pumped up crowds I've ever seen. I don't know what it was like in the 80's, but nowadays, if you go see a good band in Japan, you also get a great crowd that goes absolutely batshit.
