Ooh I just realized that I never finished what I last commented on! Anyways, Ft. Worth last year was a blast even though it was FREEZING!!! (: I can't wait for the upcoming show in 2012 because I most likely will take my polled Hereford unless we decide to take a different one. And Jagger did great! (:
I got my polled Hereford calf from the breeder who's son got champion Hereford. My polled Hereford is still a calf so I'm extremely nervous about next year in ft worth. This year the weather was awful (like 8 degrees) and I was in the freezing cold barn doing chores while most kids got to sleep till noon and drink cocoa. I also had to sleep in the car all night when we first got there while we waited to get into the barn. But I enjoyed it even though I didn't make the sale. I hope that the weat
I have the dam bred steer of this grand champion. He is a maine cross. I do believe the european cross won because the man he baought it from has had 4 ft. Worth grand champs in a row. I bought my 2 from the same man the dam bred of 2011 grand comes out of walks alone and ground zero. The other came out of walking tall and heatwave.
@colemannixy I noticed the girl showing the polled hereford calf has the same last name as the kid who won. wonder if they are related? Anyway I'd have gone with the polled hereford. Too bad they rarely get the recognition, just as it was back in the 70's and 80's when I use to show. 3 hereford champions at the state show were all better calves than the exotic I won grand champion with in my 4th year. seems like nothings changed except back then it was rare to see a light colored calf win.
my pick was hereford grand shorthorn reserve i dont like that cross at all
