The Bug is 100 percent a dubstep artist; he's associated with the Hyperdub label, as well as NinjaTune. The stuff that is called "dubstep" today is practically nothing like dubstep when it was born in the early 2000's in London. It was focused on deep basslines and halftime rhythms. Like this. No one is hijacking a genre, just pointing out what it used to be
