thank you for posting. i love this song. i sang it the other day for my teenager and she loved it too. its so funny. was hoping to find the full song on youtube but was unsuccesful
(trying to remember other verse but i know part of it) then one day out on town square a bunch of kids were gathered there, throwing beer cans at the law and shouting peace, peace! i did not mean to interfere, but someone started screaming in my ear. so i laid both hands on his head and i prayed while he turned red and the other kids said lets get out of here!
(on the job i never say a word, i figure they all i know i go to church, then one day my boss man called me in for some tonic handsome gin, and i began to think perhaps he hadnt heard, so i said no sir i am not the drinkin kind, exceptin for a thing they call new wine... as he lost his cigar smoke it seemed as if he'd choke so i began to explain it one more time
i never testify at school, people would say that im not cool. but then one day i had enough of that evolution stuff and i stoo right up and said "Gods word is true!" My teacher did not know what to do... it seemed as if he was shaking in his shoes. Although he knew i meant no harm, he took me by the arm and said son "what religion are you?"
We hadn't sung this song in over 30 years. We couldn' t believe we even remembered the words to it. We had a great time trying to remember the words to a lot of old time songs that night. We had great times growing up together at the UPC youth camp in Old Town, Maine and are staying in touch with one another now. God put us together for a reason and we were the best of friends way back then and even closer now.
@jaykenal my name is thomas i hear that song 30y in md at a youth reviel i still rembewr the words still now iam 47 y thank ub for the song i enjoy it god bless u many blessing to come for u
We were all raised in the Apostolic United Pentecostal Church. We all attended different ones throughout Maine. We lost contact with each other for many years and now are reunited through Facebook.
