@Therealtaxidriver ... would have said something. I want to give your argument weight, I really do, but could you tell me more about your relationship to him, and the reason of your claims, perhaps on my inbox, if the comment section is not akin to your approval.
@Therealtaxidriver look I'm neither a worshipper or anything you are calling me, if anything I like to research and expand my knowledge on all topics, film being a major one. I tried to give your argument weight, but I don't see a sign of him being homosexual and/or a pederast, he was a bit of a tyrant to his workers and he's known for not leaving his house almost at all, plus he had a lot of people working for him and around him, if they had noticed any aversive behavior they ultimately would
You're HILARIOUS, man! Do you have a book coming out?! Or a DVD of your stand-up routines?!!?!! PLEASE let us know what you've done in life and where we can find out more about your talents!!!!
I can't follow what he's even trying to say (which is sad and I feel for him) - but is he suggesting that he attempted to copy Stanley Kubrick's style in American History X and this is the reason he ended up where he was with New Line and Hollywood? Is that his claim?
@bertiedump Sorry, but what about the film is manipulative? What is ideologically incoherent? The film is good. It's nowhere NEAR the level of Kubrick, and no director ever can or will be, but AHX isn't by any means a failure. It's actually quite simple: a man bases his whole life after stupid ideas, and when he finally realizes how stupid said ideas are, it's too late. I don't see the problem you have with the film. You want manipulative? Watch Avatar or Pulp Fiction, those are trash films.
hes a fucking genious. American History X was one of the best directed films of all time shut the fuck up anyone who cares about things other than his abiltiy
TK is an 'artist'. He was very difficult to work with on AHX at a time when the studios were exiling the director's power built up by Lucas, Spielberg, and Scorsese. If Kaye made AHX a decade earlier, he would have been directing a lot more films than he has. We have Tyler Perry and Lyndsay Lohan now. That's the current market. Kaye directs and shoots his films and today's Hollywood is all about empty sunglasses sitting in director's chairs. Hate to admit it, but this is the way it is now.
| dont remember him having a speech impediment... although i was around 8 or 9 when i met him, people change so dramatically. i'd love to meet him again, Tony its Sherona here!! if u read this me and my bro did some ads and video's with you!! holla!

Actually American History X was a good movie because of Edward Norton - Tony Kaye tried to butcher that film. Fortunately (thank Christ) New Line stood eye level with Norton and it was released as it was; a masterpiece. Its just a shame that Kaye is such a reject. A true shame.
Oliver Stone might be the second most influential director after Kubrick, I think.

Actually, Tony Kaye has 'lost-the-plot'; he's unpredictable in the most undesirable of manners.
Over and above, his wife is a staggeringly beauty and their daughter, expressly adorable.
Well done, Tony!
