  • Oliver Stone might be the second most influential director after Kubrick, I think.

  • "The friendliest person I evar met was the ape from 2001' //classic.

  • This man is amazing. And I have learned a lot as a filmmaker. Spectacle and truth. That's so true when you think of it.

  • what ever happened to this guy after American History X?

  • @Therealtaxidriver Ah, so you are a racist bigot too. How's that prejudice working out for you?

  • @Therealtaxidriver how is tony kaye a zionist???? when has he ever been one???

  • @Therealtaxidriver

Wow, you have bad taste in movies.

For the record... Martin Scorcese, the guy who made Taxi Driver, is Jewish.

  • @coleseidl Scorsese is not Jewish he is Italian.

  • @Therealtaxidriver

But they want to. They want to soooooooo bad.

  • I finally get to see this man. Thank you so much.

  • My God, he met the guy who played Moonwatcher or whatever he was called in 2001 and he was a debt collector?!??!? AMAZING STORY!!! :)

  • What a great guy! :-) thanks for this!

  • "Basket-buuul gyyyyme" He said that in that football documentary by John Cleese. I'm sorry, I just find the london cockney accent hilarious.

  • @kooora18 Don't be an utter twat, thanks.

  • @unlokia No need to deny it. The cockney accent is weird lol. I mean, listening to Harry Redknapp makes me shudder lol

  • @Therealtaxidriver ... would have said something. I want to give your argument weight, I really do, but could you tell me more about your relationship to him, and the reason of your claims, perhaps on my inbox, if the comment section is not akin to your approval.

  • @Therealtaxidriver look I'm neither a worshipper or anything you are calling me, if anything I like to research and expand my knowledge on all topics, film being a major one. I tried to give your argument weight, but I don't see a sign of him being homosexual and/or a pederast, he was a bit of a tyrant to his workers and he's known for not leaving his house almost at all, plus he had a lot of people working for him and around him, if they had noticed any aversive behavior they ultimately would

  • this guy seems like he is literally obsessed with kubrick

  • @therealtaxidriver: poor guy, I'm so sorry for you...

  • Less zooming. More editing.

  • @TatuSiltanen its an unedited section from a documentary, less editing more honesty

  • why does michael bay make movies, and tony kaye is relatively unknown. hollywood is shit

  • This dude would have been good in The King's Speech.

God, I feel bad about typing that already.

  • I am äh ähm bat äh battling an ahm and Stan Stanley storm stormed out ähm....

  • @BabyTua HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're HILARIOUS, man! Do you have a book coming out?! Or a DVD of your stand-up routines?!!?!! PLEASE let us know what you've done in life and where we can find out more about your talents!!!!

  • @ItWasTheSalmonMousse

I have some pictures at flickr. my name: JAckDempsey

aaaand I like to listen t to some y you you know you you youtube stuff :)

  • @BabyTua You are a fucking moron.

  • I can't follow what he's even trying to say (which is sad and I feel for him) - but is he suggesting that he attempted to copy Stanley Kubrick's style in American History X and this is the reason he ended up where he was with New Line and Hollywood? Is that his claim?

  • Anyone know where I can watch this documentary at?

  • @bertiedump Sorry, but what about the film is manipulative? What is ideologically incoherent? The film is good. It's nowhere NEAR the level of Kubrick, and no director ever can or will be, but AHX isn't by any means a failure. It's actually quite simple: a man bases his whole life after stupid ideas, and when he finally realizes how stupid said ideas are, it's too late. I don't see the problem you have with the film. You want manipulative? Watch Avatar or Pulp Fiction, those are trash films.

  • hes a fucking genious. American History X was one of the best directed films of all time shut the fuck up anyone who cares about things other than his abiltiy

  • Fuck hes taken out all his Piercings when did he did this

  • I just want to know if he's ever gonna rejoin Yes. Dude kills on Hammond Organ!

(I'm guessing he's tired of tired of those jokes by now. Not that that ever stopped anyone!)

  • This guy is an excellent director, and i hope he makes more films. American History X and Lake of Fire were both awesome.

  • TK is an 'artist'. He was very difficult to work with on AHX at a time when the studios were exiling the director's power built up by Lucas, Spielberg, and Scorsese. If Kaye made AHX a decade earlier, he would have been directing a lot more films than he has. We have Tyler Perry and Lyndsay Lohan now. That's the current market. Kaye directs and shoots his films and today's Hollywood is all about empty sunglasses sitting in director's chairs. Hate to admit it, but this is the way it is now.

  • anyone know where you can get the brando documentary kaye did but was forced to shelve it because brando threated to sue him to hell?/

  • Forgive my ignorance, but isn't this the director of American History X?

  • Man he looks like Woody Allen.

  • Really underrated. he needs to make more films. Tony is more talented and hard workin' than most working directors......Michael bay.....waht?

  • Actually, Tony Kaye has 'lost-the-plot'; he's unpredictable in the most undesirable of manners.

Over and above, his wife is a staggeringly beauty and their daughter, expressly adorable.

    Well done, Tony!

  • tony has more than one daughter. in fact, he has three. just thought i'd point that out.

  • tony kaye here ! check out my daughter's video of a song of mine called NEW YORK CITY-TONY KAYE

  • hi tony its leilah

this interview is funny and weird.

im gonna check your daughters video now.

  • thank you !!!

  • thanks dad.

  • | dont remember him having a speech impediment... although i was around 8 or 9 when i met him, people change so dramatically. i'd love to meet him again, Tony its Sherona here!! if u read this me and my bro did some ads and video's with you!! holla!

  • All a director does is talk, this guy can't talk, and yet American History X was a good film... very confusing.

  • why is it confusing, people can have speech impediments and still work... god people dont be so narrow minded.

  • actually u are talking absolute shit. sorry but you are dead wrong. the movie is a masterpiece because of tony kaye.

  • Damn, that's some random talking. I do not even see what any of it has to do with the actual question.

  • he has a speech impediment you twat!!

Nice speak Tony even w/ your speech issues...

Does it cause a ton of sorrow/depression to have created a film that one (or more) has attributed their crime to?
