lol if only planetside had starships and other planets/moons/asteroids and star systems to fight over. I would love the whole lets invade the planet and bombard them from orbit theme. Even watching the planetside as defenders mobolize to repell invaders with anti-orbital weapons and starfighters racing past the atmospher to intercept sounds awsome to watch before you dodge death raining down.

mixing the 2 genres is like trying to mix jews and palestine- they all out hate each other but the RPGers hate FPSers even more, FPSers just dont care when RPGers are a fickle bunch

@walmartian actually EVE is a whole different ball-park, the players are alot more mature, and alot of EVE players love FPS games. Mostly its WoW players and other MMORPGs like it that the players dont like FPS but thats because most of those worlds FPS would not fit in because of the era those games are based in. I can tell you many EVE players are looking forward to DUST 514 and it is also attracting alot of non-EVE FPS style gamers. Don't underestimate CCP, they've done some amazing things.

I think pretty much everyone did, but that was planetside, there really was no penalty for dieing. It rewards kills the most, campture the bases the least, and staying alive not at all. That is why planetside was dominated by Killwhores.
