Peter being a Jew would I think support Israel and a more engaged foreign policy. I would support Peter over Paul. We need MORE economists in politics.
Ron Paul in an isolationist? So are you calling our founding fathers isolationist?
We would be wise to heed the advice of Thomas Jefferson and seek, peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations - entangling alliances with none. Washington similarly urged that we must, "Act for ourselves and not for others," by forming an "American character wholly free of foreign attachments."
Non-interventionism is not isolationism. It just means we do not interfere militarily or financially.
interesting what some call isolationist. Simply because one doesn't want to fight wars that are 100% baseless, 100% unwinnable - that's isolationist. I'm all for security, but even the best security experts know you can't have a plan based on some concocted enemy that nobody can even see. Obama is not in Saudi Arabia to ask them to buy our bonds. The Saudis are not big buyers of our bonds. They are big buyers of our banks. And universities. So why did Obama bow to the Saudi King? Why did he file a brief to protect the Saudi princes from liability for the complicity in 9-11. Why does obama not mention the incredible cost of defending the US from Saudi funded terrorism? why is he really in Saudi Arabia? Peter, look into "financial jihad" it plays more a role than you think
Dear BBC: Financial Jihad, Google the term. I studied it at graduate level for 6years. I dont mention Bernake you do. Each point taken from major news. You can verify without giving insult. Bernake, is pursuing Shariah compliant products at AIG with taxpayer money. This goes to fed court soon on seperation or church and state grounds. We est 20% of AIG Shariah profits go to charity supporting terror at US and our interests. The cost to protect ourselves is perhaps 5% of budget excl interest.
Dude, you've been studing at graduate level pfffffffffftt..lol well I've been muslim since I was born that makes me an expert in this field.. so, don't speak to me about Shariah compliant products..... Listen, how does a company have CDO's and credit defualt swaps but still somehow Shariah compliant products? lol thats an absurd notion you need to google Islamic finance...lol financial Jihad..lol don't make me laugh (don't worry about the Middle East and worry about the NWO my friend)
Peter is spot on with his commentary on Australia...the government actually spent over $10 billion in giving everyone money to 'stimulate' the economy...so that consumption translated into the GDP figures.....yay, only costs 10billion to achieve a 0.4% growth in gdp figures
In these times that try men's souls, those without souls need to be tried and convicted. They are the culprits. They are the criminals. They are the evil slave masters.
If government (FedRes) can print money out of thin air to "spur economic growth", will they then destroy all these trillions of dollars when the "economy recovers"? Yeah, right! The idea is absurd. How/why would they destroy all that wealth? But, that's the point. Fiat currency (money based on nothing) isn't wealth. It's Monopoly money.
When the world understands this we're going to see some very intereseting times. People, my fellow Americans, we're in trouble. Big trouble.
May I make a small correction. You refer here to "all that wealth' when you reference the trillions of dollars that have been printed out of thin air. It is important that people understand that that is NOT wealth. Nothing is created when the Fed prints money. Trillions of extra dollars do nothing except to reduce the purchasing power of all the other dollars that exist. Real wealth is actual stuff, goods and services that are NOT created when the Fed simply prints money.
Yes, that's exactly what I stated in my post (maybe you misread it initially). Federal Reserve Notes are not wealth. They do not represent wealth. Actually, the represent the opposite of wealth. They represent debt.
In Australia - they gave all tax payers $950 stimulus money. This sux, because they will tax the money back later with interest. People here think it is good. I got the money too, but it simply driving us into dept. Thanks to our government, we are trying our best to go broke also.
thanks again Mr. Schiff - i was so disappointed Steve Lonegan didn't win...my whole family and myself voted for him - ughhh I don't even know who I'm going to vote for during the election - i hate Corzine but Christie is no different - YET AGAIN
Keep going, Peter. Keep informing the people about what's really going on in Washington and abroad. For what it's worth, you inspired me to check out Austrian economics, and now I'm a full-fledged proponent.
Looking forward to seeing you talk some sense into John Stewart next week.
did anybody notice how reagan once said "government is not the solution to our problem., government IS the problem." then Obama steps into the whitehouse and says, "Only GOVERNMENT can solve the nations financial problems." wow, obama must be some kind of anti-regean. I mean he is in my opinion, considering reagan was for free market economics which by the way lead our country out of the early 80's recession by cutting taxes, and obama wants to do just the oppoiste.
I voted for Lonegan but Christie's ad blitz said that Lonegan's plan would raise NJ taxes to 70% of the peopleduring the 1st year. He was also soft on immigration and something about hiring illegal immigrants. Now that Christie is racing against Corzine, I will stay home election day. I hate this state!!
Christie's smear ads were such bull - he basically accused Lonegan of everything he was - Lonegan was the man - - HE IS THE MAN...hope he doesn't give up for good
From this Blog I sense that Peter probably will run for the Senate. In this Blog he's laying down the reason why for the Republican party, it is important to have more limited Government minded ppl on their ballot. I see this as him taking a gradual step toward to Senate. Also this shows how cautious & wise Peter is. He's not the type of guy start with saying, "here I come, I'm the Savior of the World".
i prefer peter schiff as president and ron paul as vice. Peter Schiff is alot more charismatic and funny. He's also less conspiratorial and explains economics better than ron
It's kinda strange to talk about who would be better President, Ron Paul or Peter Schiff, since Philosophically they are in the same team. However since you brought it up, so I would like to express my feeling.
peter schiff wouldnt make a better president, he is a business man, went to school for economics, and doenst have any political power. Ron Paul has lots of experience with politics and has been around for awhile, it think its clear the ron paul would make a better president, afterall he has the same thoughts as peter schiff about the economy.
From all the Peter Schiff vids, I saw, I see him as a Smart, Rational man, & he's right on the money on the Economy. But none of his vids, I saw, show the Principle side of him. So I don't know whether he is a Principle Man, i.e. I don't know his Virtues. On the other hand I know, Ron Paul is a Principle Man. I don't care how Funny, how Charismatic, how much of Entertainer quality Politicians have, but I do care how principled they are. Look at Obama, Funny, Charismatic, Looks good on Camera.
So Peter, are you warming up the Saudi's for Obama's visit. Basically so they can ask him some technical questions and not fall for some whitehouse flim flam?

I understand why you're so keen to stick to the Republican party, but I think Ron could win as an independent, he doesn't need them to win. You just have to keep reminding people that a wasted vote is when you don't vote your heart and conscience, as Jesse Ventura put it.
