  • my uncle played a constellation had a warm sound..thats why he is using the flug..

  • OH come on.. these cats play good.. dont be a snob...accoustic bass would be nice.. but hey..

  • Now I understand why Fats hated Key West... : - (

Poor Theodore is probably rolling in his grave right now.

  • wow, hey can any one recomend me some Bop songs, and some artists

  • Dear Will,

Thanks for providing this link. I'm a great Fats fan and host a Website in his honor entitled "Nostalgia: A Tribute to the Great Fats Navarro." Please let me know if there is a third Bee Bop Tribute being planned and if so post the info (dates, etc.) and I will promote it my site. Thanks.

    Take care,

    Fats Blows

  • The Green Parrot in Key West is my favourite bar anywhere. Wish I was there right now....

  • This is great that Green Parrot honors Fats Navarro. I'm all for a monument, statue, what have you, something!

  • Music content presented professional.

But nothing to do with Fat's recordings. Flugelhorn? And that rhythm section - never.

  • man, lighten up! It's key West, afterall. These folks donated their time, and these are the musicians that could do the gig. Better than nothing, wouldn't you say?

  • Yeah, you're right. No Fats Navarro songs were played, for some reason. And what about the rhythm section?

  • Fats would be proud.

  • Uh oooo....We have the jazz police out there again. So what if navarro never played flugel!

At least someone is recognizing his music!! He was a great loss at such a young age as well as Brownie and Lee Morgan. Get over it and enjoy yourself!

  • yea, lets play football at a Babe Ruth tribute! WTF

  • 5 stars for the rendition, even though I doubt Fats ever played a flugelhorn.

Clifford Brown picked up a lot of his playing style from Fats, you can hear the influence in his jazz.

    Nice work.

  • Bravo guys! Sounds great and I love all these guys!

  • AMEN!!!!!

  • Fats Navarro needs a monument in his home town for his contribution to Jazz music. I'm surprised that there isn't one. People should get in touch with their municipal politicians.
