I cant see why people are commenting saying the angle was bad. she had 3 strides on a straight line to the jump, she could have easly done it in 1. Shes a great rider so i dont see what people are complaning about. When you work with horses you are bound to hit the dirt at some point!!!

like anyone can stay on that...that horse just ducks right out at last second, going from a forward momentum to a jerking stop  of that momentum then shoot sideways and continue forward motion...PHYSICS people, not bad riding....

Guys, people make mistakes, get over it! Nobody is a perfect rider, but she is obviously better than all of us, 'cause we're not the one's jumping in the world cup. Plus she did get straight back on and do another jump, which is what you're supposed to do when a horse refuses like that.

I think she didn't fully prepared the jump like she wanted too 'cause you can see the horse isn't in great balance when they reach the jump I think if the horse had jumped that they both could have gotten hurt...

@horselovergirl98 shes not bouncing because of a bad seat , she isnt big and doesn't weigh alot so shes using her weight on the rein to slow and collect him and get him nice and bouncy before the jump :)

@perfectstorm101 are you kidding ? , yes she'll have a lot of money but through winning competitions through skill , she fell because you dont expect a grand prix jumper to refuse a jump and he showed almost no signs of refusal before the jump , also she was flying round the course , because you have to , every decision is made in seconds so she went into jumping position perfectly , the horse just had different ideas ! don't be such an arse on the internet :/ key board rider .....

I ride grand prix and it was just a tough, unbalanced, fast and "ahead of herself approach". He wasn't rocked back and it freaked him out! You can't superman a fence that large. Happens to all of us! You just learn and study and get back on! Great rider and combo nonetheless! If you don't fall off...I wonder if you're really riding out there! Cheers! MC

MY THOUGHTS: When she pulled back on the reigns the horse started to slow down and if he slowed down he couldn't have jump that so he turned away from it.

@LandLoop i can see what you mean but as she pulled back on the rein she pushed on with the leg , its called collecting it gets the horse bouncy and springy so they have more power over the jump :)

@xCarliniii but a triple bar at and angle is abit extreme but i dunno do they train them to jump triple bars at an awkard angle i would poo myself if i was goin towards a very large triple bar at an angle xD i would be like this horses is amense if he jumps this or RIP xD but she is a good rider she obvs trusts her horse very nice looking horse btw :)

She was pushing too much and flattened him as well as being on a completely wrong angle. Doubtless when she sees a video she will realise...but like you say you have to wonder just how much these horses can be pushed without a bit of respect for how they feel about it all...

@Frecklesfiend This was her fault, but I bet she knows that... and everyone makes mistakes. This horse knew the angle was wrong and just didn't take it. Though it doesn't mean these horses get no respect. A well bred horse WANTS to jump, though they also know their limits as will a good trainer and rider. As a matter of fact it looks like this horse loves to jump (watch his happy ears going towards and over jumps. Forward and ready) This rider made a mistake... but don't we all make mistakes?

not even a pat to the horse when she sits up. I truly hate this high competitions, pushing the horses so far and still not even checking the horse or giving it a pat after a fall like that. She shouldn't be sad, it was her own fault.
