you got thumbs downed b/c this video predates the GTX260M model. At the time, the 9800GTS model was king of the hill for Gateway. Down the line there will be a model with either an ATI part or NVidias DX11 part, but that wont invalidate videos from when the GTX 260M was current right?

Plus, folks may be considering saving money and buying this model *used*. For them this video would be very useful and they dont want to spend the cash on the new model.

have you tried over clocking the graphics card? it might not make a huge difference but its worth it sometimes

If You turn off V-sync like --kenjineering-- says and if you use windows 7 you will get a good framerate at very high too.

Turn V-sync off.. V-sync is only beneficial if you are getting constantly more than 60FPS on a 60Hz screen.

You might be hindering your performance by activating it with only 30Fps

This laptop comes with two screens one caps at 1440 X 900 and the other at 1920 X 1200. Getting the 1920X1200 (like you and I) is just luck. Our max is not his max.

I know why you get 30 fps Burning fetus: You can see in the vid in the upper corner (rightside) its a pre relase demo...so yes in the full game you get more fps then this.

And someone asked what resolution I ran on, and this laptop caps at 1440x900, so that's what I play on.

25-30 FPS, sometimes it drops when the laptop gets to insanely high temperatures, but not by a lot.

I have the gateway p7805u with the WUXGA LG display, I run Crysis @ 1920x1200 on Cuudats lvl 4 @ 22-28 fps. I overclock my GPU to 716/936/1750 reaching 70-75 degrees celcius. 25 fps is decently smooth for most games. This game is definetly the most demanding of all the games I have, even more than GTA IV where I get 30-35 fps on maxed settings with no shadows.

no point in running the game on very high at all anyway, let alone in DX10. If you use the Cudaats 2.21, you can get the game looking like very High with better performance than vanilla very high.

hey i have thislap and i can play crysis on very high with good frams the trick is to download a config mod thing that lets u put all setting on just high wich is recomened for this machine but the graphics look like very high with all th sunglares through the trees

Who in therr right mind would run this game at high settings (let alone Very High Settings) ? You can easily run the game in Medium settings with Custom configurations. I use custom configurations to make it look like I'm running in Very High Settings (even got the pretty sun effects from trees) but getting the peformance of Medium Settings.

I played Crysis on mine for 4 hours earlier, on max settings, and I didn't overheat at all.

The laptop DID get very hot however, but it didn't slow down game performance at all. Just make sure you don't let the vents get covered up, as this beast likes to spit the flames of hell.

BTW, i've read several articles saying PS3 and 360 won't be seeing the game due to the lack of memory installed on the consoles. It said they would need "at least" 1 gig to even run it without all the bells and whistles. With everything they would need 2 or even 3. Also it was stated that the PS3 has the processing power but not GPU power to make the game run great, and the 360 had the advantage but would probably have issues with crashing even if it could run the game near a higher setting.

i got this computer too and i thought it could run wow with 60 fps easily since the asus i had did, but im actually disappointed if i put everything on high i get 30-60 fps. is there something i can do to improve this because the asus had the 9800 gs instead of the gts and i think the gts is better because of the 1 gb of memory

Make sure you shut down/exit Big whatever its called-Gateways updaye program, and I also turned off Camera completely. Can play every game I put on it at High settings(not Highest or Utra):

MLB 2k9, Age of Conan, LotRo, Yhe Last Remenant Demo, Zoo Tycoon 2. Runs Age of Conan flawlessly which I KNOW is a more demanding and better graphics and programming then WoW, same with Lord of The Rings Online.

Thank you =) crysis warhead should run a lot better. in a mix of medium, high, and very high settings. also if u download some off the mods (ccc photorealism mod is one of them) it makes it look like its in direct x10. btw is this dx10 or dx9?
