  • cool, thanks i cant find vermiculite anywhere on pet store website...maybe its not something thats listed

  • check at ur local plant store

  • but its only an additive to be mixed with potting soil, you don't need too much, 2-3 cups work best.

  • have you ever fed your T's pinkies or other small rats like that? i dont know your position on live feeding so i thought i would ask...

  • I never do, rats/mice are pretty dangerous in short term and long term effects. Short term would include scratching or biting the T, causing it to bleed to death, Long term effects would result in severe molting problems due to the excess of calcium stored in their body. Since they can't use it like we do in our bones, calcium acts as a poison to them

  • interesting, yea ive seen some vids of people feeding baby mice to their T's but once i think of it like that i see how dangerous it could be...thank god, i almost bought something called "calci-sand" i am supposing it has something to do with calcium haha, i was going to mix it with peat moss i dont know how good that is for burrowing though

  • I would stick with potting soil. You can mix trace amounts with vermiculite, excellent for species needing high humidity

  • GBB sure loves to web

  • very heavy webbing species :P

  • Tiger Rump handling T?

  • Sosiak565 here. Not really. They're really a skittish species that can be aggressive

  • my brother is getting a tarantula, but he doesnt know what they like to eat, can you help?

  • I have a video on tarantula diet. In a nutshell, you can feed it crickets, locusts or roaches once a week

  • do they bite?a

  • yes

  • Hey Jon, was wondering, how rare are brachypelma baumgarteni's in canada? Here in the US they are pretty rare and expensive. I myself got my hands on a baby mis named as a boehmei but she grew to become a baumgarteni, I'm very lucky to have that happen to me. Keep the vids coming pal.

  • Holy cow that's awesome.

Virtually non-existant here in Canada, unless someone decides to breed them. They're As rare as G.pulchra and most of the Aphonopelma species that we're unable to get here
