  • I just lost IQ watching this vid...

  • there's no solution

  • and all thoes products placed in movies , you know when you are watching a crap movie when you hear inter net sites advertised , soda drinks or computer items.. the tv hasnt been turned on in 3 years at our houme and we click stright off any youtube clip that starts with an advertisment :)

  • Television is owned by Jews. Of course they'll deceive people into thinking that TV is good for them. They're natural deceivers. Don't forget that. Those who like it, you're just watching it to your stupidity, eventually decaying all of your senses in the process. They're the lowest pieces of shit out there. Hollywood's owned by Jews, and so is New York. They don't call the latter Jew York for nothing, of course.

With what I've typed above, here's a lesson: DON'T LET THE JEWS RUN YOUR COUNTRY!!

  • @RawpowerGroudon Of course, but don't forget that it's not only about jews . I used to think the way you do, but later I realize that the whole world sucks, not only the jews. But the truth is that there are bad and good people in this world, and it makes no difference if you're jewish, gentile or whatever. I know of honest jewish people. Sorry for my english

  • @estatuadechozo If you judge on exceptions, you'll never get the solve the problem faster.

  • I grew up on the tv. The tv was my friend as a child.. Only friend that wouldn't deny me.. It was always there or me. It made me laugh. And I get A's and B's

  • @6flakes that's sad to hear my friend... being serious.

  • Your brain turns into goop when you watch tv.

  • That television set in your living room and bedroom is doing a lot more than just entertaining you!

  • Youtube effects brains too!

  • @anrchydog

you choose what to see in youtube, but the tv chooses what do you see.

  • If I were single, there would be no television in the house. It's too passive.

  • Thanks for telling me that you were lying.

  • As your friend sits on the couch and begins to tell you what happened in the hospital, your mind slips into a trance like state making the brain more receptive to information. What he tells you triggers the fight or flight instinct, but since it would be absurd to react in this situation, the brain is stuck in a loop of impulse, suppression and confusion.

    I think friends are evil.

  • @ThisWorldWillBeMine I think you like watching TV a lot.

  • BOYCOTT CORPORATIONS.... BUY LOCALLY

  • Comment removed

  • lol the drool

  • It doesn't matter what your IQ is. If you watch too much uneducational television you are going to see significant drops in your reasoning, problems with emotion, and problems in your life. You will likely not be aware that your causing them or how. If you care about yourself don't watch alot. Definitely don't let developing young children watch anything at all that is uneducational.

  • you still have to talk to people that watch tv all the time. Just agree with them is what i do. This country is proggammed big time.

  • Amazing video.

A lot more to be said for computers.

  • Do you mind if I use a clip of this in my video with credit?

  • This works only if you have a low IQ.

  • i think this is a pretty simplistic view of TV and only encourages the whole paranoia of technology turning our brains to mush. Audiences aren't zombies who plug in. we are actively decoding what is being presented to us. If you cant recognize that what you are viewing is completely constructed then your just plain stupid, tv had nothing to do with it.

  • @TimSneddon I would view it on the level that it is not the fact that it is hypnotizing us, but rather what it is presenting our brain to decode. What is worthless, redundant, and useless, compared to what is not. Think of the times you have watched tv for more than lets say... 30 minutes. ( I am no scientist but i think it is a sturdy hypothesis) In that 30+ time span have you remembered all of the information? And if not all 80%? 70? 60? If tv presents us with something that forces us to deal

  • @TimSneddon with something so worthless that we cant retain 15-20 minutes of 30 minutes worth of video then is it really our fault. Oh and sorry for my post being as long as it is.I really try to keep it short but still say everything.

  • @CroppedHornet You should keep trying. If you try very hard for a very long time, you may well find that you've kept it as short as you and all of us desire it to be, much like I do. Keeping it short and to the point, free of frills and unnecessary reiteration and repetition, is both handy and beneficial. Keeping it short and to the point, free of frills and unnecessary reiteration and repetition, is both handy and beneficial.

  • @jgonzalezsolorio Yet you loose any artful touch, and any meaning behind the script. As much as i hate saying "Well he may have said this but he meant this." is the ethis of literature and thus media, it is. While we live in a society that revolves around such things as the cosmic cube and realism, we cant sacrifice copiousness. We loose any beutiful thing if we sacrifice the things that lie "between the lines". "Beauty" isnt a subjective term either. Just for clarification.

  • @TimSneddon Why would they decode anything? A large portion of the audience has no opinion on numerous subjects prior to "learning" about them on television. TV takes them from nothing to something.

  • So what about You Tube? It's better how?

  • @batfly Because on youtube, you can watch whatever you want. There's alot of educational and interesting stuff on youtube. Not so much on television, because if it's too complicated people would not watch the show and so they get nothing from advertisement. And Computer is alot more interactive than television.

  • @Th3D4nny

Anything that has millions of hits on YouTube is no better than the crapola on TV

  • 3p1c description.

Here's something the "tv is evil" camp keep shoving under the rug... Watching a fire has the exact same brainwave effect as television.

Human beings have been sitting around a flickering something watching and listening to other people tell and sing and act out stories for as long as there have been human beings.

And I'll bet there were people back then sitting and hollering 'Fire Bad!' at everyone from the darkest part of the cave, too.

  • @zEropoint68 The difference is that when people are gathered around a fire telling stories and dancing around, I do not think they are TRYING TO SELL YOU their stuff, their product. Everything about television is there to sell you something. Advertisers spend BILLIONS of dollars on advertising because it WORKS. So if you want to keep being bombarded with attempts at your wallet, watch tv regularly.

  • @pwerplnblak You have a point, but I think advertising awareness is a perfect case of knowledge being power. There are always going to be people who don't generate that awareness, but for the vast majority, the simple realization of the advertising aims of television can provide adequate defense against any destructive influence that advertising may have.

  • not all tv is bad. there are good tv shows out there unfortunately most of peak tv times is saturated with nonsense programming. tv is a mass tool to keep society dumb down and receptive to the bullshit tv throws at you.

  • You people are so stupid, everything you guys say about T.V is completely idiotic.

  • wait people actually watch tv in 2011?

  • whats this music called :D

  • They also manipulate the background flicker. Humans can't see what's going on in the backgound flicker. But most of it is more than negative. It's satanic. I'm not even a religios nut or anything, I didn't even believe it until I saw it. It's aweful. The most horrific fucking thing I've ever seen in my life. The younger the viewer, the scarier it gets. childrens cartoons are the worst. I don't care if you believe me or not, I've seen it with my own eyes, so I'm smart enough to avoid it.

  • Everywhere I look, I see people talking in essentially the same way (same mannerisms, wording, etc.), dressing the same way, and espousing almost identical attitudes about any given subject. That tells me all I need to know about the power behind TV.

  • @WSC9293 i used to watch tv all the time. even tv shows like family guy have a negative impact on you. they decieve you into believing it's harmless, but in reality you're being desensitized and the negative effects slowly mold your psyche. trash in, trash out. feed your mind with only good, pure, lovely, positive, self-empowering information, thoughts and images. it's a dog eat dog world out there, we need more nature, love and harmony than violence, comparing and competition.

  • @lightbrownpoop You summarized it succinctly with "trash in, trash out".

  • @WSC9293 Thank you! best way to put it.

  • @WSC9293

thats true, all my friends in school dress, act, talk exacly like in the television

  • @jin54363 Yeah, it's amazing isn't it? I see it in people with whom I work. If you asked virtually any one of them if they deemed themselves to be independent thinkers, I would bet that they would reply that they are. I'd like to know how one can be a real thinker, yet repeat the opinions they see and hear on mass media as their own.

  • @WSC9293

but then if i share what i like and music i hear to them, they just say i have weird likes/dislikes

  • Right.......about the affecting the brain and such...maaaaybe you should try and read some books about it...Sternheimer, Bandura, Fiske en Gerbner....all big shots in the communication science departments will show you that this is absolute bullshit...It's just that people want to believe it...it is easy to point to the media...but the brains effected? Nope...just not true!

  • @Rinnie1215 It sounds to me like you just want to believe whatever you personally hold to be true. You want your ears tickled with the idea that TV is just great.

  • @WSC9293 Nope, tv is not great, You won't hear me say that. And it's true that some of our behaviour could be influenced by the tv..but it is a very very small part. We might see people working, talking the same way...but isn't that just a culture thing? A Dutch guy is still very different from an American guy while they both watch American shows. I'm a media master student and I can tell you that there hasn't ever been found any prove that tv has the influence people seem to think it has

  • @Rinnie1215 It's not small at all. I see people of all cultures being melded into this "TV culture". Put your studies aside, since I've seen it with my own eyes.

  • it's purposefully mind-numbing so it can get to your subconscious and influence your actions! this documentary called "programming the nation?" talks all about it, i found some clips in this article: bitly(dot)com/n1Usu0

  • KILL TV!!!!!

  • was there some blowjob action there with the black and white cartoon at 2:16 ?

  • What about games and surfing the internet, since neither allows for more than a few minutes of passivity at a time?

  • The music industry is the same... we live in a giant game.

  • @xXFlyleafXx Feels like one big fantasy since ive learned the truth

  • Thanks for the knowledge sigmun. Keep it up

  • I've stopped watching television i also stopped reading magazines besides educational ones.

  • i dont have to worry about it i drink alot of water and tea so i have to go pee every 10 minutes so in fact i wont go hypnotic.

  • yup sold my 47 inch LCD 1080p 240Hz LG tv for 400 bucks... just wanted to get rid of the thing.

  • Haven't seen TV for more than a year now... it's way better than before. Throw away that f**** machine, it's bad for you

  • One nation can corrupt another nation's people. If you take out one nation's projections you must take out them all.

  • They should play stuff like this on TV!!... Oh, wait...

That's it. I've never felt so awake.

  • i I dont think it has nothing to to with child hyperactivity

  • If you just have to watch tv, then please pay close attention to the background. Count the number of times you see "security" cameras, police, and people wearing ID badges. Also note how many times you see unconstitutional police action, retinal scans and thumbprint identification. Especially in children's programming.

  • TURN OF THE TV & READ A BOOK

  • depends what you do on television, like watching discovery, science channel. They make you smarter..

  • @DoNotLaughAtMe not anymore... History, NatGeo, Discovery.. Past, Present, and Future control... now they just peddle UFO propaganda and fear based BS!

  • @DoctorSess can't think of the last time the shows scare me. UFO is propaganda. Area 51 is really about stealth planes. Also don't think the put any ufo propaganda be4. Well as I have seen.

  • @DoNotLaughAtMe maybe you haven't noticed but the History channel plays nothing but Ancient Aliens, UFOs, Nazis, and other CONspiracy theories... NatGeo and Discovery's programming isn't much better. It's called programming for a reason (it's programming people). History channel to filter the past, NatGeo for the present, and Discovery for the future. "He who controls the present controls the past. He who controls the past, controls the future" -1984

  • @DoctorSess I stopped watching it once I saw this crap. The final straw was a big foot special. Once I found out that NatGeo was part of the Rupert Murdoch empire I stopped watching it. Thank goodness I think rationally and think for myself.

  • @DoNotLaughAtMe also it has nothing to do with WHAT you are watching... watching ANYTHING on television still puts our brains into different wave patterns. Combine that with layers and layers of subliminals and autosuggestion and you got yourself a brainwash box... commercials are the worst. There are many layers to every commercial, each layer might even contradict each other. For example the first layer comforts you, the next layer is designed to scare you, and the next sells you the solution.

  • @DoNotLaughAtMe I'm not saying I don't watch TV, I do. I mostly record a few comedy shows and the documentary channel and then skip through commercials! We need to turn the Tell-Lies-Vision off!

  • trust the web, fear the gray/black propaganda box.

  • @SilverGalford well dat sucks

  • @SilverGalford how do u know what the weather is gonna be?

  • @Traponomics1017 i look outside

  • While I agree with much that you said, I was waiting to hear about brain chemistry. Shouldn't we be taking about synapses and neurotransmitters?

  • @SilverGalford It would take a moron to say something like that.

  • tv keeps all in their little boxes; hence controlling the masses

  • I stopped watching TV two years ago. I just couldn't stand how boring it was, and how boring it made everyone around me. Since I am a teenager in a family of six, it's hard to avoid seeing the crap my family watches (TLC, Disney Channel, etc.).

Sometimes I sit down and watch it with them, making commentary and observations whilst watching the show, as if I'm reviewing it via Mystery Science Theater 3000. Then everyone tells me to shut up and I'm like "WTF you guys actually like this junk?"

  • JFK murderers are still amongst us. NEVER FORGET THAT. the shit is real. You are me and we are the people, nothing will change that, it does not matter in which country you live in it does not matter if you hate me or love me. A fact is a fact remains fact.

  • Mass commercialize unhealthy products like McDonalds. Most food has msg in it in hopes to make you a dumb fat bastard with an aspartame soda causing 6 kinds of cancer.. all the while you give kids fluoridated water. duh. The water in the soda is probably tap and the corn syrup used is from GMO and makes you fatter. Reg foods taste like shxt compared to organics, ya gotta love the GMO hormones and pesticides that all contribute to zombies and morons. Research if you doubt this.

  • there is nothing wrong with TV, the problem is with the stupid people who watch it.....

  • TV is not evil. My goodness people. Some guy throws a couple baseless arguments at you and you get hypnotized worse than advertisements. Advertisements aren't evil either. Hello, if you have a valued product, you advertise it so it can be sold and you can make money.

TV is educational, entertaining and only as bad or good as the people using it. Row Row Fight the powah!

  • Psychopaths run on the concept of control -- you do what you have to do to get your way. The video "freedom from conscience" points this out. Beware of politicians and those who control our media since such people are drawn to anything that gives them power.

  • Thankfully, TV is being replaced by computers and video games as the main entertainment medium. Television will die off in the next generation or two. However, this means that video games and the Internet (just look at the increased advertising on Youtube) are going to be changing rapidly in the next few years. Be careful.

  • This is why I still play outside

  • 2:15 quite erotic

  • the dislikers watched A-Team on their TV's

  • Overly-simplistic and self-important.

  • therefore it is evil? wtf lol. The people who control it are doing evil deeds. Don't be so quick to judge anything or anyone. You will be as biased as the next man

  • I would like to make on other point. The video title mentions brain CHEMISTRY...

...but the video itself does not. So what DOES television do to our brain CHEMISTRY?

  • So TV is to blame for hyperactivity in children? I always figured it was children being children that was responsible for hyperactivity in children.

OK, seeing as how this is categorised as "science" perhaps you may wish to post some citations. Or perhaps this BS can't be citated on account of it not being based on any actual science...

  • @DrSpooglemon as for the specific facts of this video I would not know, never researched it but it makes a lot of sense. In psychology I was taught about the fight or flight response. It is apparantly an evolutionary technique which evolved and it causes bodily changes such as dilation of pupils, increased heart rate. All of these things to prepare the human body against danger... either to fight it or run. I was also taught that on a daily basis this can cause conflict within our body

  • @chris45322345 Yes, and? Are you suggesting that an action movie causes stress. Do you feel uneasy after watching a good movie? Do you feel tense? Nausious? In anycase the video mentions nothing of brain chemistry as promised in the title...

  • @DrSpooglemon I am not saying much really. I am saying whatever I can to apply some science to it afterall what is science? A hypothesis that is 'true' until disproved by the means of objective investigation. Something that you seeem to be failing at a little I must say. However asking questions like you do is the only way you'll find your answer. peace. Try researching the possibility of science behind it. My personal view is that it is very pheasable. Art in any form manipulates our emotions

  • @chris45322345 There is no dispute that emotions have an effect on our biology(or the other way around) in ways we do not fully understand yet. That is MY personal reason for believing that this is certainly possible if not likely... wouldn't automatically jump to any NWO stuff from this alone though. People who are in the process of investigating all of that are lost in someway whatever your beliefs. If however you think top psychologists don't explore this: that is naive

  • @chris45322345 Whatever "top psychologists" mat wish to "explore" there is absolutely no evidences, nor any reason to believe, that video games cause harmfull stress. why do you think people play them to unwind after a stressful day?

  • Comment removed

  • I read a lot but this video actually made me CRAVE a book....

  • @WindChildsWorld ME TO, I'm a TV addict, i'm going to try nott watching any television for a month, and replace it with reading, i have not been able to read or complete a book in about 3 years, things need to change.

  • turn off

    tune out

    drop dead

    watch?v=FmgKwJhodZw

  • AND THE WORD OF ;"IDONAI-(GOD!) SAID;" IF I,DON'NT STOP;"MAN FROM HIS EVIL WAYS, AND SHORT'N HIS DAYS,NO!! FLESH WOULD BE SAVED!" FOR ALL OF HIS EVIL AND WICKET WAYS AND HIS MIRICALS ,HAVE BEGUILED THE WHOLE WORLD!" LET NOT THE GOOD TAKE THE PLACE OF ;"EVIL" AND THE GOOD, JOIN THE;" EVIL!" FOR THESE ARE THE ;"MERCHANTS OF THE EARTH,WHICH HAVE DEFILED IT. WOE...O AND WOE...!"

  • is this video a suggestion to our receptive brains?

  • Evidence or references for any of these claims?

  • Our society is turning into a bunch of unconscious, media and entertainment saturated ZOMBIES! Wait I take that back, we already are zombies!!! Wake up people! It's up to us to spread the truth to everyone and all the SHEEPLE out there who can't think for themselves! The future's on our shoulders!

  • Caaaabbbbllllleeeeee Guuuuyyyyyyy

  • Tv gives you information and helps you learn like discovery channel

  • I usually find TV to be boring and petty. I never watch the news because I don't trust it. The only thing I watch on occasion is cartoons.

  • i dont know if i should watch this i'm scared!

  • Um... Who the hell watches TV anymore? (o_0)

Back in the 90's I would watch 6 hours of TV a day (or up to 12 hours on weekends). That's when there was stuff to be watched on TV like cartoons and cool TV shows. Nowadays there isn't shit on TV and in the age of the Internet and Netflix I can watch only what I want to watch whenever I want to watch it. So nowadays I only watch more or less 1 hour of TV every 2 weeks. YouTube and Netflix have somewhat become my new TV.

  • YES - IT IS "RONDO A LA TURCA" BY W.A. MOZART

  • No wonder I see the world SOOOO different then most. I never liked TV and haven't watched or own one in 25 years. I do read news, but most reports don't say anything. Still, I love reading all kind of stories and books. Funny, my mind can separate reality from fiction. I wonder if this has anything to do with the way I see people, I see almost everyone as stupid, really stupid sheep.

  • @cyclenut You're special. You have a special mind that can separate reality from fiction. I wish i was special like you.

  • @cyclenut You're right dude, you're probably like a special butterfly with like superpowers or something.

  • who made this vid? and the narrator plez?

  • every image you watch will be replayed on judgement day, repent shut them evil things off

  • Though I don't think TV is evil, I do believe that advertisers, both commercial and in show ads, do take advantage of 'viewer hypnosis'. And I'm sure many of the emotional chemistry that goes on can be bad for people. Be all that as it may, what a TV is to the brain the couch is to the ass also. A little moderation goes a long way.

  • While I'm not against television, I'm not particularly fond of it. Which is not to say I don't watch any, I do watch one series on occasion, but certainly not routinely.

On a side note, thumbs up to who ever chose the music for this video. Go Mozart!

  • Can anyone please tell me what the musical masterpiece is ? the name i mean .. thanks

  • @TheMsAseel - I think it's called Rondo Turca by Mozart.

  • Youtube 'Bernays Propaganda"

E Bernays is the main guy behind most of this.

  • The reason for ADHD

  • well, I hardly watch TV, makes me feel like my brains have turned into a mushy fluid that can spill outta my nose any time, so I don't like watching TV.

  • whats sad is how people spend more time watching tv. than reading

  • This program was good but it failed to mention that the reason youth (25 or younger) are more susceptiple to being influenced by what they see on TV is because their frontal cortex (supression system) is not fully developed. People should definately watch less TV or be more selective on what they do watch.

  • @Haseeb2 I see you are 42. Do you say that to endorse the spirit, or the morality of your generation? Or do you, yourself, experience a difference in your reaction to tv ads?

  • @Monkeyshouts My only intention behind mentioning that is that it was consistent with what was in the video and it points out that what was said has a strong scientific basis as well. No I am not endorsing the morality of my generation. Some people my age and older act like they are still 12 or 13.

  • @Haseeb2 I don't know if my experience of watching NBC or CBS Evening news has anything to do with it. I started to watch them live at 2 in the morning just for the fun of it, on MSNBC Europe and SkyNews. Just within a few nights of watching, I started to feel an inextinguible need to seize my opportunity in the capitalist system.

  • This is why I read books.

  • That's amazing. I knew that T.V. was bad because of the trances that viewers go to. I also knew that viewers were more susceptible to the subliminal that advertising have in them. However, this video incorporated all of the aforementioned and added a scientific description that was easy to understand. Great informative video. This age is at end.

  • 1.33 He must be watching 2 1/2 men

  • holy fuck my fucking brain is under attack :P lol

  • American TV is the worst in the world. The advertising is pathetic I don't know you lot put up with it!

  • im not sure this is really how it works. idk. this is kidna aight

  • TV in connection with hyperactivity. Interesting connection.

  • marijuana ease all the effects.

  • @Y0Y0uk fuk yea

  • Light, especially bright lights and moving objects cause the brain to respond releasing chemicals that stir emotion. The same feelings you would get from learning how to hunt for food. It is chemistry. Everyone has been programmed by TV on some level.

  • i don't think youtube has the same effect on your brain as tv.

  • @dmsthneez that's what people that watch tv say about it :)

  • the human brain is far more complicated that that. TV is just an optical illusion of reality and your brain knows that

  • Light bends. This is why all the "modern" guys look alike with the "hommie" haircuts or no hair at all and all the girls with the hair buns now. It's like that creepy science fiction movie They Live. I saw a tee shirt with Obama as one of the They Live aliens with the word "Obey" underneath the portrait. I'd like one with a "typical today's" person on there as one of the aliens with the word "Obey" underneath.

  • The funny part is I don't even watch tv much anymore and why should I?? It seems like I can find everything on youtube these days..

  • I think that the TV, (especially when paired with a bought and paid for education system and generations of conditioning on our parents) can be quite an effective tool.. The genius of it, is that no-one is AWARE of being influenced by the subtle messages and suggestion conveyed by the television. Everyone thinks they are not effected because they can watch an action movie with out blowing something up, or a horror without mutilating someone - this does NOT mean you are not effected.

  • Biggest load of shit I ever heard. How did the douchebag telling this ridiculous story keep a straight face. Half the time there's nothing good on TV so how the hell can I be captivated by it- let alone to the point where I leave the house and start acting like I'm in Grand Theft Auto. This type of bullshit is to make gullible people guilty about simple and harmless pleasures. If you can actually find something good to watch, watch it! Fuck this moron.

  • @YurAllStupid,

The creator of this video does make a good point. We watch TV to be amused, yet all of our favorite shows are interrupted by commercials telling you to what to buy. Sure it may not affect you, but other people who are more susceptible are effected.

You're right that you should watch something good if you find it, yet TV is being dumbed down - just look a Jersey Shore and other shows. It's sad, but Grand Theft Auto actually makes more valid philosophical points than tv now.

  • @Reauit Companies sell products that we use and eat. Now, the type of person that picks up the phone and calls a "dating" line after seeing some half-naked girls in a commercial is an idiot. This is who advertising is mainly for. But if you're smart, a comemrcial can't make you buy a product you don't want. If you're smart, a video game can't enfluence your actions. Not watching TV cannot make a dumb person smarter or improve ones judgment. Anyone affected by TV has an unrelated issue.

  • This is kinda what I've been saying is wrong with this generation. We've been brain washed by an unreal fantasy world. And our world has become to painfully boring for us to cope with so we constantly seek some kind of stimulus. Great video. I'm glad I don't have cable anymore. I refuse to pay $30.00 a month to watch more commercials, or even 30min-60min commercials and that's what's on late at night when I'm mostly awake.

  • Ahh this video will awaken anyone, good stuff, hopefully the Thoughtpolice won't take it down

I still have a TV, but it is only for video games/movies on occasion. If not for these I would have it thrown out by now.

  • Hmmm isn't TV tha bad....

You can learn from it something veeery good.

Like National Geographic Channel, or Discovery...

  • @ComputerTutorialPro Based on what was said in the vid, I believe you could learn much easier from picking up a hard cover book on the subjects brought up on those channels... for one, information is always lacking on tv. The intricate details are too vast to fit into an hour special. Hard cover books contain mounds and mounds of studies and scientific observations.

  • Youtube is not like TV. Most of youtube's videos are user generated and are not laced with advertizing and other garbage. Videos such as this would never make it on tv or many others because of our controlled media which does not want you to think freely. They want you to buy more useless junk to fill up your empty lives with shit you don't need. They want you to be polerized loyal political party membrs keepin us pit against each other so we won't notice how bad the system if fucking us over.
