Until 1994, when he was 48 years old and got elected Governor of Texas, his life was almost empty of accomplishments. Fannie & Freddie caused the start of the recession. Clinton enforced the "fair housing laws" in the great housing boom of the 90s, it was touted as a great success for Clinton, black and hispanic home-ownership eclipsed white disproportionately because the banks HAD to give bad loans to people they knew were not able to pay these morgages. Bush being the liberal spender he is, did nothing but warn congress about the problem (he thought that would get him off the hook) and let the bad times roll.

You guys are so butt hurt from losing the 2008 elections that you look for anything to celebrate. It should because the info is from Huffington Post, you know HufPo don't you? the unemployment rate for workers aged 16 to 24 at 19 %. The Obama agenda is about power and control. The unemployment rate is the last thing to recover when a society suffers a recession as severe as the one we are going through. To claim that the Obama administration isn't concerned with unemployment numbers is just ridiculous. You can look at the unemployment numbers starting to slow their descent as proof of some improvement.

Obama's personal popularity is still very high. Palin isn't even in office so her "policies", as it were, are non-existent because she has no seat in government to enact them to find out if they would be popular or not. Obama is still very popular. I'd say more people like him than those that like her. His job approval is separate from his personal popularity.

Plus, Obama's numbers will likely go up when/if he gets the public option signed and deal with DOMA and DADT. He has to please the people who elected him. Whether decisions were right or wrong (personally I think they were totally right), Bush's heartbeat was for the protection of this great country and its citizens' right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Live within your means is a goal, a policy is the steps you would take to achieve that goal.

Clinton inherited the economy created by Reagan. Obama inherited the economy created by Clinton that Bush failed to correct. The current depression was touched-off by the collapse of the subprime mortgage industry. The Clintons threatened to prosecute banks that looked at key factors for approvals. Those factors would have prevented giving loans to people who could not afford to pay when percentages increased. Obama is practicing FDR style economics. Didn't work then and won't work now.
