  • WILBUR "BAD" BASCOMB - THIS MUST BE HIS 1972 "BLACK GRASS MUSIC" LP CUT; I HAVE IT ON 7" AT 2:43. GREAT CLASSIC UNDERGROUND TRACK WITH QUIRKY INSTRUMENTALS AND FAB BREAK & THE HORNS AT THE END ARE WORTH WAITING FOR! - THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS GEM - DAVEDJ

  • What made records like this so f..kin kool was laying for the break part so you could bust out your best dancin move. LOL. The crowd would get hype when those funky drums kicked in, yo

  • I pretty much remember the whole song was played in a jam, or at least most of it it wasn't just the drum break, but the guitar riff at the start would get the 135th street Y HOPPING... this is back in the mid 80's... needless to say this is one of my favorite cuts of all time - in it's entirety... unedited.

  • i think the break starts at like 1:40 right?

Yessir, my dude. Me and my crew used to be up in the Mike N' Dave sponsored YMCA parties on Fridays and always in the circle tossing in up like a chef's salad, ha. Beats like this always got it poppin' and only the brave, skilled and newly learned could jump in the Cipher and break it down! Uptown Forever!!!

  • @Harlemheat69 oh shit! You all were killing it!! And were an inspiration to me as I was learning to smash in the circles. Those were the days! People don't know what they missed! Magical times.
