  • nice set up...wat dj software version do you use..for example pro, pro, flu,l or home or which one ??and thanks

  • @DeeJDiego Virtual DJ Pro

  • You won't need a back up laptop if you had a Mac book

  • nice set up man...hey way kind of sky is it..(model) i need one with a laptop stand

    thxs..

  • What kind of gobo projector is that?

  • What kind of gobo projector is that?

  • i thought texas was like some kind of red neck hillbilly place but this looks badass!

  • @daichi489 We have it all... all.

  • Oh look, virtual dj, that's cool....

  • how did i get here?

  • you should get a mac

  • But the main song you will be playing will be the macarena

  • my dads got 6 dj elite speakers 4 strobe lights and 3 lasers and 2 eq and hislaptop

  • what size speakers should i get for a house party 12inch or 15 inch

  • @icoche 12 is fine for a house party

  • Why dont you drape a white cloth over the back to cover the wires.....also adds to the wedding look

  • thanks but wich one i buy first,i don't have mcuh money so when i get wich one i buy the sub-woofer or the other speaker, and please help me with the peak light..thanks..

  • Hi Mike!! nice..ey so finally i got my speaker yes one, 15" SAMSON AURO 400 WATS 2-WAY POWERED LOUD SPEAKER,now what do you recomend buy a sub or the other speaker and the sub is exactly for what , another think THE PEAK RED LIGHT it is normal? and what should i do with that..thanks..

  • @DUYEMI so the best sound you need two 15 inch speakers with 1 sub-woofer in the middle.

  • Need I say,,,,,Wire management, Otherwise nice look.

  • why do you need a backup laptop?

  • @baller73737 Redundancy ...it could also be a cd player, ipod, etc.....

  • Great set up!!!! As far as the wires... FACAD!!!!! You can even light it up to make is look just as hot as the rest of the set up!!!!

  • hi there! nice set up! can you please tell me if the monster power pro is very important? and if it is please tell me how to use it. which of my equiptment should i plug on it. thank you. please help me.

  • I Don't why you are set up on the floor,, Theres a stage ins't there? you shouldve just done it instead

  • @MrJ1films Requested by the Bride and Groom, for 2500 bucks I'll set up in the bathroom if you ask me too.

  • @mike71flores nice....

  • @mike71flores Just a piece of advice Mike, for $2.5k, you should clean up your presentation. A client in that price range demands and deserves more attention to detail. Those wires hanging from behind the speakers and light stand are typical of a sub $1k DJ but the spaghetti nightmare spilling out of the console is pure KMart!

  • @DJFrederickHart yup your right!! went with a dragonboard picked up at mobilebeat in vegas

  • @mike71flores Mike! in the US, you get $2500 for doing a wedding?! in england we get about $500 worth, thats mad!

  • @yogojack yes, there are lots of upsells that comes with gettting 2500, you can upsell other things other than just dj. In todays world "Everyone" is a DJ. You must set yourself apart and be able to offer things like uplighting, custom gobo's, custom intros, and photobooths.

  • i like your set up but how did u hook up the mixer to the computer?

  • @rockonhockey the hc4500 is connected to computer via usb. mixer is connected to hc4500

  • The are getting harder to find Mike. DJ Skirtz Table Topper. Since DJ Skirtz is no longer recently in business. If I had a extra one I'd sell it. But they are definitely keepers. They hide everything, while giving you a sideport for cabling under the table.

  • Nice set up....are the uplights controllable or permanetly on blue? also, the new SKB rigs have opening in the side now for wires to come out of.

  • Hi, Mike nice setup. I have a question about the SKB, is it 8u on top and 4u bottom?

Lovely custom gobo! Good job on getting another wedding out of that one.

    Thanks, Damien.

  • where did u get the table skirt from? im trying to cover the bottom of my coffin from all the wires and extras

  • @djkozzmo the venue provided it.

  • looks awesome! But your cables are a mess! Make a rackpanel with a powercon in and out, so you only need 1 powercabel and then 2 XLR out and maybe a booth out. Looks much more sleak. Have a look at how i have made my CDJ2000 set-up with a rackpanel on top :)

  • Excellent setup man. I have the SKB rig box as well. the best way to hide all wires is to have a facade. I posted a video of one of my setups so you can see the facade. I also posted a video on my page on how I built mine for $60 vs buying one for like $400

  • @onstagedjkj cool, thanks for the TIP!!

  • can you told me what i need to do one a those dj i just need the names can you help me ?

  • Hey Mike I don't know how to use the Martin mania Projector looking to buy one. How do you make custom messages?

  • @sdf0msl you have to have a custom gobo made, they are made of metal or glass because the bulb runs so hot. They require a special machine to make so you can find custom gobo website all over the internet. the martin mania projector also comes with about 8 default gobos that say happy birthday, merry christmas, etc....

  • Wow, nice set up! I hope you charged accordingly. Love the custom gobo, it is really the best bang for the buck. And you have a backup PC too! That is a much overlooked item. The only thing I would have done different is put the subs together and use stands for the mids, I know it's not symetrical but it's better sound-wise. I agree about the wiring mess on the SKB, that needs help! But of all the post of set ups I have seen, I really like yours. Nice Job!

  • Hey nice video, but I was wondering why you didnt use the stage to setup on. I may have missed this in the video myslef but im not shure. Also I love the monogram on the floor, can you cahnge those out throughout the night or are the basically only one at a time?

  • @c2djservices BRIDE AND GROOM decision, i would not recommend changing out during an event

  • what did you use as a monogram >>?? whats the name of that light?..thank you.

  • @DjNeNe311 Martin Mania PR-1 for custom Monogram's

  • for the wires you can buy a foldout stand and place an x stand behind it with a board to serve as your table top. The foldout stand would cover all of your equipment and you could still place a white sheet in front with and Led behind it.

  • @djteknovibe 2 QSCKW181 is the 18inch speakers I got and they blow the smokes off the JBL SRX718's

  • @djteknovibe I just sold one the SUBS, and then purchased 2 new 18 inchs QSC KSUBS.....if your interested in the JBL sub let me know it's for sale...last guy that bought the other one saw this video...

  • How do you Connect Powered Speakers & Passive Subwoofers?

  • @maccudia8 run your left and right to the xti-4000 amp then from the amp run 2 more lines to your powered speakers. each amp has an input and output

  • @mike71flores tnx! great help.. I believe the xti series has a built in crossover for low frequencies.

  • @mike71flores tnx!! great help, I believe the xti series has a built in crossover for low frequencies..

  • How many par lights did you set up here?...looks nice

  • @Planetbinxs 24

  • to clean up the cables-take a look at how i did my flightcase-you don't have to use my ideas but you could get some ideas! Great video. Thanks

    DJCob1

  • Hey there, I have a idea that works really good for your wire problem, I had the same skb case for years. also had the SAME wire mess, I used a black cloth to hide the wires, Sounds stupid, but it looked nice and you couldnt see the wires. It looked liked it was supposed to be there. Hope that helps, give it a try.

  • Why do I see so many guys set up their top speakers so high? The speakers

should not be placed above your head. I was advised by a custom DJ/club

set up installers that for a mobile DJ the speakers should be set (the woofer)

in the top speaker should be at four chest level, and tweeter at your ear level.

This way the music doesn't fly over your head and disappear. Only in the clubs the speakers are carefully positioned above your head and facing downward. DJ Ted, NJ

  • @DJTADEUSZ The K12's are designed to TILT down towards the audience.

  • Nice sound... You need to work on your lighting though

  • looks great but hide the cords.... happy djing

  • Dang i've been watching ur bids especially ur laptop hook w ieo but I'm nervous as heck n I have my first gig on the 26th of this mo. I have a couple of denons s5000 and dmx-06 mixer and a couple berhingers 15" I still can't decide if j should use virtual dj or just pop in CDs =\

  • Guess he forgot #lol

  • how you like those k12 hows the bass and how many people will the handle with no subs

  • @DjBrianProductions It has really good Bass close up to the speakers, so it's great for small venues or small dance floors, if your wanting more bass I would add at least 1 subwoofer to fill the rest of the room for larger events. i think these are perfect for small Bar's as well.......Big venues don't rely on them for Bass....

  • @mike71flores r the loud about how many people will it handle with no subs and on deep mode

  • I've been trying to decide between the x900 and the x500 mixers. How did you decide on the x900 and does it give you any extras that you use? thanks

  • @hfordlaw1 go with the x500, x900 is a marketing ploy to get you to spend more money, it also has a few problems with the sound LED's

  • what's the brand of your wireless mic?

  • vocopro vhf-3300 retails for about 149

  • I like your setup. That custom gobo looks sweet man! I'm fairly new to the dj game. Been doing it for a few months now. Just posted my very first dj gig log 2 days ago. My PA system is very good, but I need to improve my light show so I'm working on that.

    Enjoyed this video!

    ~Vince

  • Mike, I sent you a comment one of your other videos about which subs you use, nevermind, I answered my own question. On this video, your mess on the table that needs to be covered up. A facade would take care of all that. Check out my videos, I built one really easy. Hell I'm in Louisiana, maybe we could work something out! Give me a call or something.

    Jeff

  • yea, had just moved my gear to that new skb and did not realize that all my wires were going t be hanging out.....checked out your videos and would you believe i just bought a trailer last friday..5x8 covered.....but im sure you probably sold yours by now........

  • What gobo projector are you using? Can you include specs too please? Thanks

    -Drew

  • martin pr1

  • I have the same rack and cable management is a nightmare. I only put things that won't run hot in the SKB (I.E Mixers, midi controllers, light controllers) and then run mixers under the table. I then keep that back door closed and it looks fine with only two wires (power and amp output) coming out of it.

  • I probably should move my amp to it''s own amp rack , fixing to purchase a trailer so probably will go that route now that i can put everything on wheels.

  • Very nice setup. All you need is a nice table top or full front facade and you'll be set with the hiding of all wires.

    Keep'em Movin'

    ~DJ Bo~

  • Thanks DJ BO, I think i figured out something temporary , I just took a piece of the black spandex material available at the local Hobby Lobby and placed it over the back of the rack for now...I think I have some video footage of it on my next gig log that I post.

  • Sweet! I look forward to seeing it. I always like idea's from other DJ's!

  • very nice setUp

    what gobo projecter?

    thanks

    MM

  • Martin PR1, I put one in the foyer as the guests arrived and one on the dancefloor.

  • Thanks mike

    MM

  • i'll do a video on it soon, I'll also purchased 2 of the cheaplights chinese versions for 99 each, and plan on returning them soon. Not even close ...gobos would not fit ....

  • The Gobo is really a sweet touch.

The wife has a rack close to yours and she put velcro on the case and cut a black piece of material and put velcro on that. Or DJskirts makes a table topper. I just got a Denon HC4500 to use with Otsav. Thanks for the video you did on it.

    Curt

  • Good to hear from you Curt, start posting some videos.....

  • not too bad

  • Great setup!

    5/5

  • Thanks Rally15!!

  • @mike71flores

    No Problem!

    It´s sure, u got nice video´s!

    Check my video´s! ;)

  • Mike,

I have the same SKB rack. I should have come with a removable back plate. When the plate is attached, you can't pull any wires through.

I originally had a really deep amp, that was about 1 inch too deep for the SKB. So, I just took a utility razor, and scored off enough of the bottom of the rear opening. Now, I have about a half inch gap between the plate and the bottom of the rack. It still looks very nice, but I can neatly pull the wires out of the bottom.

  • Cool, the skb rack seems very versatile, I'll try taking a razor to it and see what happens.

  • I'll try to shoot some footage of how I modified (or brutalized) my SKB rack.

  • I would buy or make a table topper, it will hide those cables.

  • thanks, I'll look into that.....

  • Nice clean setup.

  • Thanks!!

  • If u were running a mac u wouldnt need a backup laptop lol

  • check out my other videos, I'm running a MacBook Pro, this particular gig did not use it.

  • gees ur set u early , table and chairs arnet even done . good to c some vids from u

  • yea, we were worried about the up-lighting....but turns out that's when other brides come to visit the venue......wink , wink !!

  • great ,im gonna try that next time

  • what par cans did u use for uplighting? Very nice and clean set up (except the skb case lol)

  • they are Par-64 10mm LED's I send send you a link if you are interested...

  • wow bro, i am gonna buy me one of those monster power conditioners first thing tomorrow. that is amazing to me.

    thanks for the info.

    bb

  • yea, they have have some nice ones built to last...have not had any problems with them.

  • Very nice setup!! the gobo looks realy good!! gotta get one of those! YEah i guess a table topper to cover all the wires, a dj skirt all around, i built mine from pvc pipes.

  • thanks !!!! adding table topper to list ......still looking for laptop stand that works on top of SKB ....

  • join us in skype now if you can...I'm demonstrating a FACADE...

  • I like what you did with the case and and your laptop stand. great idea

  • I'm sitll searching for the holy grail of laptop stands, I want one that will fold down into the case for transporting.....might have to make my own.....there is space at the top for something to fit...in this case I just drilled 4 holes and screwed it in, then unscrwed it when i was done.....i guess i could put a plate on there then attach something ...but i noticed laptop was too high up.....

  • Hey Mike Nice set up bro! can u send me a message where and how much r u getting ur gobo's?

  • gobosource is the name of the place.

  • Nice setup. How you liking the K12? They sounded great when previewed them.

Some kind of facde or dj skirts table top would clean that up for you.

Quest on the up lighs around the room? How are you powering them? We you lucky enough to have enough outlets? Also are they stand alone or al linked via DMX?

  • the K12's were awesome, light , and versatile....and provide a great backup because they are running their own amps.....we plugged in where ever there were outlets....they are DMX able but decided to go with one color.....

  • you could go with a table topper, like the dj skirts...or build your own booth out of pvc pipes...u are innovative like dat!

  • yea, i have a dj skirt, but the venue provided the table...with their own white skirt......I could propably build that booth too....

  • Great Setup

You could purchase an S&H Booth, or a Deskstand Booth Pro, but you're looking at fairly high prices.

  • What model wireless mic's are u using ?

  • Those look like the vocopro 3300's. I have the 3000's and they are cheap and do a great job.

  • yea, the voco pro's, only reason i purchased is because they are re-chargeable...I don't have to deal with batteries....they come with a rack mount kit as well if you want to somehow mount them in a 19 inch rack....

  • What do you think of them are they good, cause I have shure wireless mics which is top of the line as it is but i need a backup system.

  • yea they are fine, but don't work good at long distances......but for handing to the best man on the dance floor they work fine..

  • vocopro vhf-3300 retails for about 149

  • love the setup man

    keep it rcoking

    dj brian

  • Thanks Brian, Love you videos....you don't know how lucky you are to be at your age and live down the road from MU !! your gonna be awesome !!

  • yes i no i love mu they my new brothers and i wana learn and the the best like them

  • looks sweet........ what lights r u using under the table?

  • i put 2 of the par64LED cans underneath there

  • jbl subs? u not with the 181s anymore? how many power cables you got coming out of your skb case? I have my furman and two xlrs only.

I got my denon dnd4500, shure wireless transmitter, mac book pro, & my pioneer mixer plugged into a furman pl-8c. i been having a bunch of problems with my cd player arc'ing out on me! everything else seems to be cool, and the serato has not given me any problems, just the cd player. i usually have my qsc powered speakers going directly to their own sockets.

    bb

  • found a great deal on the subs that I could not pass up....they weigh 75lbs a piece vs the QSC 125lbs.... I may just move all my wiring down to another rack and hide underneath the table and just leave the mixer and midi controller in the skb rack......

  • @mike71flores hey man, do you have your speakers, your rack, your lights and everything going to the outlet behind you??? i dont see any other power cords going anywhere else. how do you get away with not blowing a circuit or having power flaws????

  • yup , i have everything running through the monster power.....I tested everything at home maxed it out.....then tested everything on before the venue....plus i have a meter in the front that tels me how much juice i'm pulling....so normail 120 ....was at 117 the whole night....I plugged a small heater in once and got it down to 112....that popped the breaker....

  • @bobbyblendz....my monster power pro rack has a built in 15amp breaker, so if I pull too much juice then the reset button would be on the monster power pro and not on the venue circuit breaker. You also have to remember the difference between Peak and RMS. So my total plugged in PEAK into a 15amp circuit was probably about too much, but i'm not running everything at peak....done 3 more gigs since then all on 1 plug with no problems....

  • @mike71flores i feel you, it just seems to risky to me. eventually, your power will come out of the monster and go to the circuit box. what if you plug your gear on the same curcuit as the kitchen with freezers, fridge and air conditioners/heaters??? will the monster read that?

i still don't understand the volts read out. are we supposed to stay under a certain number? did you see rick at bases loaded's post about this?????

    bb

  • @BB, if I exceed the amount of power that my 15amp breaker inside of my monster power pro, then it will pop. I tested this by plugging in a heater and sure enough it popped. The volt meter that's built in will tell me how much i'm getting from the wall when Im plugged in to a circuit. The volt meter measures the difference between two points in an electric circuit. The reason I want my Monster Power breaker to pop is so that I can pull something plugged into then reset it, vs backroom breaker.
