  • I love it when people see the ending, and they get so angry! People hate it when they don't understand something, or when something so unexpectedly happens that they just can't piece it together, so they just blame the movie for being stupid or unrealistic.

I personally didn't mind the ending; it caught us off guard and was the complete opposite of what was expected. That's what I love about Anderson. Keep up the great work, man!

  • This movie changed my life. It made me realise my faults and made me realise what i had to do with my life. Magnoila is one of the most underrated movies ever. It deserves a rating above 9 for sure.

  • I went 11 god damn years without ever seeing this masterpiece! Just finished it and it blew my fucking brains. Where the fuck have I been?

  • Comment removed

  • This is still one of the top 10 best trailers I've ever seen.

  • for your health!

  • ambo setuju !!!

  • The most underrated movie in film history.

  • hehe my name is Magnolia^^

  • Ok, I think this is the right place "I have a Magnolia tattoo on my left arm!"

Crazy but true! Best movie of all times!

  • @Orlando136 .I thought this was hilarious.. 'cause I do too, but on my upper back..

I recently got it, for my 18th birthday :DD

  • @Kkkristy3 i thought i was the only one that was THAT crazy about this film but it's amazing. I got it a few months after my 19th birthday ;)

  • Unfortunately i dont own the writing skill required to give the deserved blandishment to this masterpiece, so i will waste all my letters spamming with this simple message:

THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN MAGNOLIA,THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN MAGNOLIA,THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN MAGNOLIA,THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN MAGNOLIA,THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN MAGNOLIA,THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN MAGNOLIA,THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN MAGNOLIA,THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN MAGNOLIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ugh this movie is so good. i just finished watching it and like i cant even handle how great it was.

  • ready to watch this film for the first time in T minus 10 secs......9....8.....7......

  • This movie is beautiful <3

  • how many frogs did they kill in the making of this movie?

  • @sethsquatch420 They used about 7900 rubber toads. No toads were harmed in making this movie.

  • @sandina00 ya i know i was just joking :)

  • I agree it's a great film. i own it (2 disc). However Tom A hole cruise was mis casted.. I love Phillip Baker Hall HUGE fan from Hard 8 and Duck.. Mikey NJ

  • @champion1531 Miscast? I actually thought he was frickn' brilliant in it. He gave it all of his acting chops in there, but Julianne Moore stole the show ;)

The kid, Stanley was amazing, as was Melora Walters, Phillip Seymor Hoffman, well, everyone gave great performances.

    P.T. Anderson is a beast!

  • "Respect the Cock!"

  • @Euclides287 AND TAME THE CUNT!

  • greatest movies in my opinion are Man on Fire, Titanic, Deja Vu, Goodfellas , Godfather series, Pulp fiction, 7 pounds, and some more but i cant think right now lol

  • At the beginning, all it needed was some yellow text and it would look like a Wes Anderson movie

  • @rodzinska This is nothing like a Wes Anderson film.

  • it was a dumb movie

it sounded like a good and eye opening movie but it wasn't

  • *SPOILER*

Honestly... I don't know what I would do if I found out my husband molested our daughter. Hypothetically, as I am not yet married nor have children.

  • This is one of those movies you can only watch when your high .....

  • @CanadianChronic2121 You have never been more wrong

  • I actually like the trailer more than the movie, the first hour was so good, and Tom Cruise showed some decent acting chomps and was hilarious, but it kinda bored me after awhile, the ending kinda saved it. Boogie Nights however is fucking amazing

  • This is such an arrogant trailer (cut by Anderson himself). I love it.

  • I especially love Tom Cruise in here.

  • I went to see this movie in Dublin,Ireland in 2000.(We got it late). And as we left the cinema my friend said to me me.."What did you think of that?".My reply was.."That was brilliant.....That was one of the best films".I was just lost for words at the time it was excellent!

  • Can someone help me understand what this movie was about? I watched it and was flabbergasted...

  • Wat the fuck was at d end? Strange things can't happen like frogs doesn't fall from the sky. Dat was so gross to watch. Besides movie was brilliant, magnificient, each characters were watchable. Movie was surely to get nomination for academy award but the strange thing at d end made the movie dislikeable

  • What is this film about exactly?

  • @Stiny114 it's about people, life and the coincidences that happen more than we think. I really recommend you go see it

  • Tom Cruise may not be the most VERSATILE actor of his generation, but definitely has the most impressive RESUME of his generation. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • Crazy shit, but never accepted

  • About to watch this movie.. wowit's going to be a mission keeping up with all the charecters

  • Like any film, the story is so unreal. When i saw the movie i was like 18 years old. Now I m 25, and for me life had changed a lot and i don t believe about that power. we learn to forgive, but not to do things right. Even that, the movie was great.

  • I agree the movie is about the power of forgiveness, even when it seems most unlikely. That's how I interpreted the frogs; that these people could all be forgiven is as likely as frogs falling out of the sky. But then they DID fall out of the sky, so maybe we all really can be redeemed. One of my favorite movies of all time.

  • I am 41 now. The film came out when I was 29. I understood it clearly then and I still do. I can't and could never fathom what it was people were not getting. These people's lives are interconnected. These are the events of one day. This is how it all comes to a head. These are all people who need forgiveness, most of all, from themselves. It is an examination of how connected people are to one another, often without knowing it. We may be through with the past. The past is not through with us.

  • Some years ago I saw this movie on a movie channel, very, very late on night.

It was already half-way thought, and it was "a" part of the kid in the contest. I slowly loved and loved the movie more and more, I only saw say less than an hour of it, and still liked it.

After that I went to sleep. The channel never said what the name of the movie was.

It has been haunting and even inspiring me.

Today I finally found out what the movie was called.

    I'm very excited right now

  • i saw this film when i was like eleven, and i didnt understand it at ALL lmao!

  • @facecheek i know 40 year olds who still don't understand it. lol

  • this is my most favourite movie i´ve ever seen ... and today I had a dream and there were raining ducks (not frogs) AND IT POURED it was a very weird dream and I believe it has to do something with this movie

  • my favorite movie in the world :)

anyone know the song during the first half of the trailer?

  • I've never seen this but i need to

  • Magnolia, Eyes Wide Shut, Fight Club and Vanilla Sky. :)

  • Robert Altman made this movie 10 years prior to this. It was called "Shortcuts" and it is infinitely superior.

  • Magnolia, Fargo, Pulp Fiction, and American Beauty are in my opinion, the greatest films ever.

  • @TheJackster5000 I agree with you, 100%. Those are my four favorite movies exactly.

  • @TheJackster5000 So, I see you love the 90's...

  • @TheJackster5000 You have good taste my friend.

  • @TheJackster5000 No love for Intolerance, Battleship Potemkin, M, Gone With the Wind, Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Bicycle Thieves, Seven Samurai, On the Waterfront, The Seventh Seal,The Bridge on the River Kwai, Vertigo, Lawrence of Arabia, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, Raging Bull, Schindler's List?

  • @TheJackster5000 -american beauty.

  • @TheJackster5000 apart form fargo

  • @TheJackster5000 City Lights, Rear Window, Vertigo, Magnolia and There Will Be Blood are for me the greatest ever made. Two from Hitchcock and two from PTA! Having said that this is the single, worst trailer I have ever seen. Makes the film look like drivel. Dreadful trailer.

  • @TheJackster5000 Ever?

  • @TheJackster5000 How funny, my favourite films are American Beauty and Pulp Fiction; however, I have yet to see Magnolia and Fargo. But I soon shall. Great to see someone with good taste!

  • @TheJackster5000 Have you seen One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest?

  • @TheJackster5000 good taste :P

  • @TheJackster5000 90's rule

  • @TheJackster5000 The Butterfly Effect?

  • @TheJackster5000 good taste man, pulp fcition and american beauty are my favorite films

  • This came out when I was 17. I didn't see it until it hit video (That big double tape box) but I remember seeing this trailer and part of it stuck with me for my entire life.

"Sometimes people need a little help. Sometimes people need to be forgiven."

  • @AKenjiB well apparently some critics said that its too long. And some people too are like "3 hours of drama? thats so stupid" i hate those people.

  • I always forget about the frogs.

  • i was flipping through my TV channels at around 1AM and stumbled onto this movie... I started watching it since I saw the lead actor from "Dewey Cox" Magnolia turned out to be one of the best movies i've ever seen

  • In my opinion, it's one of the best films I have ever seen. And it is very underrated. Critics are alright with The Godfather being 3 hours and more. Who wouldn't love the Godfather? But when it comes to Magnolia...all of a sudden...It's too long for them. What a great mystery.

  • @daxeIHEARTyou95

What are you talking about? This movie has gotten very good review from most critics. It has an 83% on rotten tomatoes. Tom cruise got an oscar nomination. No it's not as critically acclaimed as the Godfather, but it's gotten rave reviews from many critics

  • My favorite movie would be Magnolia if it wasn't for some of the bloody scenes in there. My favorite is A.I.

  • How Could anyone not like this trailer/film?! God Help Us All!

  • not as good as boogie nights or there will be blood. but still good.

  • @pinkfloyd32389 While I agree with you, I understand that Magnolia is 10 times bigger and more ambitious then both of those films. The camerawork, the multiple stories, managing 10-15 characters, the symbolism, etc etc. Magnolia is a Fucking Monstruous piece of cinema that will never be appreciated for what it really is :/

  • probably the most intense movie I have ever seen

  • I still like Tom Cruise despite the fact that he believes in the crock of shit that is scientology

  • !!best movie in all time! the mesage is genius

  • !!!best movie in all time! the mesage is genius

  • what is the song in the trailer?

  • @ALDERSHOT732 Momentum, By Aimee Mann

  • i cant find the music after 1:57

  • @FurtherJack It's 'I've Got a Surprise For You Today' from Jon Brion's score for the film.

  • tom cruise is awesome

  • Ok this is my theory on the film. It is all to do with the 4th or next dimension. We are in the 3rd dimension plus time which is all chaos & randomness. The next dimension is all ordered & in its place. Sometimes the 4th dimension leaks in to ours which shows itself by coincience (the opening scene). Also I have theorised that rains of frogs (or any other strange rains of things) are spilliage from the 4th dimension into ours. These frogs were all in an ordered compartment in the 4th.

  • @jonathan45278 Sory, but you're wrong, because we already live in 4 dimensional world, 3 dimensions from our perspective occur as space and fourth one as time. If there were only 3 dimensions, everything would seem static, movement itself can happen because of the fourth dimension. There are probably more than four dimensions, but 4 is how much we can observe with our sences - 3 of them directy, and time indirectly.

  • @jonathan45278 hahahaha you are so stupid

  • Frogs.

  • Otherwise, the movie is sort of difficult to follow, because once you get into one character's plot it quickly switches to another character. If you look up explanations of the film, the way that it was constructed is quite interesting. Everything is bible related, which I did not expect. But I think it's comical because it seems as though a group of guys sitting around a table said, "Hey, look at this bible verse and weird events in history, Let's make it into a really long and psychotic movie!

  • @thelastclap There are more connections between the characters besides just bible verses. :(

  • There were so many people in this movie that I just wanted to punch in the face. They were all so annoying. Especially that stupid woman buying the drugs. She screamed at everyone. I hated her, i hated tom cruise during that interview, i hated the girl when her dad came to see her and when the cop was talking to her, i hated the fat black woman at the start of the movie. Everything just made me want to reach out a punch everyone in the face just to get them to shut up and stop acting so stupid!

  • @thelastclap Man, the rampant stupidity in your post is quite amusing. I'll like it.

  • amazing movie in all aspects..

  • @linasofia71 Try the library?

  • i COULDN'T WATCH THIS MOVIE, TOM CRUISE HAS DONE HIMSELF A DISSERVICE BY BEING A $CIENTOLOGIST, IT JUST WRECKS IT FOR ME...

  • The trailer is not so good, the movie is amazing. Roller coaster, intense, edge of your seat, emotional, enlightenment, genius. Trust me.

  • the trailer confused me so now i don't feel like watching it.seems like another one of those weird drama movies where at the end you're like "ummm what the hell did just happen"

  • @231johnjohnson The Trailer is bad, the movie is amazing. Rollercoaster ride, intense, edge of your seat, emotional, genius. Trust meeeeee!

  • @231johnjohnson The last few words spoken, 'What can we forgive?' really sums up the message of the movie. In a good way, of course. It basically says, we go through shit in life, through our own fault and the faults of others alike, and we can say we're sorry or accept an apology, but what does it mean exactly? Are we just going to see them like we did before they messed up? Not likely, not likely at all. After we've exposed ourselves as broken individuals, it's all but too late to fix things.

  • @And8But I don't know what you said but i have only one thing to say:who gives a damn?not caring beats forgiving.the dude abides

  • If the trailer stopped at 1:49 it would have been perfect. Now it is just decent.

  • 0:27 did you guys noticed that FREEMASON SYMBOL??Damn!!!

  • @pusukongsugatan they have to leave that #$@$@ mark everywhere.i hope they put it in toilet paper next.

  • Magnolia > Pulp Fiction

  • @clutchcityrockets, maybe , but I hate him for what he did with resident evil.

  • @ldqc That's not him!!! That is Paul W.S. Anderson!!! 2 different persons... Paul Thomas Anderson doing Resident Evil... God!!

  • @ncarg LOL , sorry :P

  • burbank california T_T i live their...

  • Everyone should google "This Is Magnolia" and listen to it.... F ing amazing

  • @mabyehaveajam145TCE the group what song?

  • @hawkd68 any song..... the whole album! haha na listen to NEW GOLD MOUNTAIN

  • I hate it when people think this movie is gay but love There Will be Blood. People dont make any fucking sense

  • I SWEAR the guy talking over this trailer did the same in the intro of The Brother's Bloom..

  • Someone tell me what the fuck was so meaningful in the end of this overrated movie.Plz give me an answer cause im losing my mind with you people. If this movie is one of the best films ever made. What is gladiator then?Or american history X.Or Godfather.Or Braveheart. These are god's movies then.Plz explain to me the end of the movie

  • I love this movie. It's definitely my favorite, but the trailer gives no indication about what it's about and is a bad trailer.

  • @papermariofreak64 actually that makes it a good trailer in my eyes. I hate when trailer spoil everything. I speacially like the end of the trailer when cruise asks was that unclear? it´s like refering to the trailer

  • @hallowedbeeddie

It's a bad trailer not because it doesn't spoil anything, but because it doesn't give you any idea about what the plot of the movie is or why you should care. The only people the trailer would appeal to are the people who go out and see the movie because of the cast, in which case you don't need a trailer for it in the first place.

  • @papermariofreak64 well, I disagree. I think it´s a great trailer, to me the cast never has anything to do with how great a film is. At least I´m not someone who watches a film because of its stars. Heck, some of my favorite ones don´t even have famous people in them like Cinema Paradiso or Tarkovsky´s Solaris. A trailer should give you a feeling of the movie or intrigue you in some way, not give you the plot of the movie. Why watch a it if you already know how it ends from the trailer? stupid

  • @hallowedbeeddie

You clearly don't know what I'm saying if you think I think it should leave every character arc and story immediately clear. The trailer tells you nothing about the movie, so why would it be a good trailer? The trailer would only be intriguing if you were trying to figure out what the hell is going on in it. A good trailer gives the viewer an idea of what the movie is about and why you, the viewer, should go watch it. This trailer does neither.

  • @papermariofreak64 I didnt realise there was a right and wrong way to do anything.

  • @papermariofreak64 by the way. when I said stupid, I didn´t mean you, I was just refering to the idea. Just wanted to clear that up

  • Tried too hard and fell even harder!!

This movie had a lot of potential but was an epic fail. From the scene where the cast all sing along it turned to shit. i was waiting for a twist or for some great ending but far from it. The first hour showed potential but too many characters and the last two hours went nowhere. The raining toad scene was cool but even that could have been better. What a waste of three hours

  • This movie had some REAL potential, but pretty much lost credibility after the frogs come raining down. That was disappointing, because it was doing so well up until that point, and then was impossible to take seriously after that.

  • @EzyGlider I'd disagree. I do think that it was weird and a bit out of place with everything else that had previously happened in the film. But at the same time it makes the film unique. It shows that Anderson is willing to take risks with his audience, and makes an otherwise naturalistic movie more surreal. The frogs make this film stand out from all others. Yes, its odd, and it will divide audiences in their opinion of the film, but overall, I think that its one of the best movie endings ever.

  • Tom Cruise did a great job.

  • Comment removed

  • @beandogfly You did a good job at showing how inharmonious and discordant you can be towards my opinion.

  • @RockAustinDXtakerRk0 Tom Cruise did a great job of being a tosser, because he is a tosser.

  • This is pretty much one of the worst films ever made and anyone that likes it is an idiot fer sure...

  • ya, wiretap cbc reppin it hard

  • haven't seen the movie. this trailer just made me.

  • This film is nothing short of extraordinary. My top three favorites of all time!!!

  • @cinemapsycho91 Yeah me too.

  • @MrKenny1878 AWESOME!!!

  • this is an awesome trailer

  • The most underrated film of the past 10 years.

  • @IndependenceHD it has 8.1 rating -.-. How is it underrated?

  • @gpolenik

Because it didn't even touch the Oscars. It's not one of my personal favorites, but it undoubtedly deserves and award.

  • @IndependenceHD It is not underrated. IMBD rates is 8/10 =)

  • @IndependenceHD Well, it was criticized very well.

  • I didn't understand this movie

  • Paul Thomas Anderson > God

  • At the beggining of the movie Tom Cruise's character is so asshole, but at the end, when you know everything about him i'ts just so sad person, I feel sorry about him

  • EPIC MOVIE, GREAT ACTING (who hates this film is a great Chuck Norris fan). I couldn't have a girlfriend that doesn't like this film

  • bets trailer ever

  • MOVIE SUCKS HUGE HUGE HUGE COCK!!!!!!!!

  • Paul Thomas Andersons Magnolia is in my top five best films of all time. He has made great movies, Magnolia, to me, is his masterpiece.

  • This is a truly rotten film by an over rated director. I can see through this B.S. like glass.

  • @MontagTheMagician have you seen the directors other films? He also made Boogie Nights, Punch-Drunk Love and There will be blood

  • @MontagTheMagician Can you see through that shit on your face?

  • JIMMY GIBS!!

  • Am I wrong or this trailer is really bad?

I seriously didn'g get what this film is all about.

  • @MartasChamber Agreed, doesn't seem like PTAs cut too cheesy. "When It Rains, It Pours."

  • @MartasChamber yea the trailer's sorta boring...

  • @MartasChamber as the trailer says; "...and this will all make sense in the end". Yo gotta see the film!

  • I love this movie. Finally a good Cruise performance. Also PTA isn't just one of the best younger directors, he's one of the best working at all.

  • only two or three movies are greater like magnolia!!

  • fantastic trailer period!

  • what is the song in the background?

  • I liked the trailer, but somehow Tom Cruise just frustrates me.

  • @Szederp he's playing himself

  • @Szederp dude he should have won an oscar that year!

  • @Szederp Why? Did you forget your calendar?
