for this animation are you saying you made the art entirely in after effects or did you do the art somewhere else and bring it in? i just assumed it was impossible to do something like this in after effects.
I'm currently in the process of making a pixel art animation for school in after effects, and I was wondering how you were able to keep after effects from interpolating your artwork?
@ToastyUploads Its very awkward to do pixel art in after effects. I wouldnt do it again. What worked for me is scaling up all of the art, and render the pixel scenes with "draft" quality in the rendering options. That turned off all the pixel interpolation, it probably still works.
Nice, full of awesomeness and muffins! Trying to work on a music video using the same pixelated style like Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle, trying to find the best programme to draw and animate the piece any recommendations?
@RyMaNF0v Honestly, I dont know. I used After Effects to animate this, but it was awful, its just not designed for pixel art and using plenty of short, tiny animation loops. Maybe I was using it wrong though. If I had to redo this, id probably make it in flash, and export it in video. You get less fancy effects though of course...
@FrankieSmileShow Thanks for that! gotta admit After Effects is really only good for video not animation. Heard photoshop has an animation tool (or something), though Flash was the first option that came to mind, I just have no idea how to get pixelated images, besides paint blocks, there really should be a grid tool or something. Thanks again! :D
@RyMaNF0v Well I would make the actual assets in a pixel art program like AfterEffects, and then import the assets in flash. Then you can at least position sprites to a grid or something... there will always be the problem that you can place bitmap objects in non-integer coordinates which would make pixel art tear or look weird, not sure how to get past that. Not using any "tweens" and placing the sprites by hand, using pixel snapping?
''Interesting editing friend.I like the music, sounds effects and grapics, like a game classic, good style.I love the action and story, very original. The animation looks awesome too, alot of work.5/5*Looks a good mini master piece, looks like a intro from a game.Great job friend!!''
