I have peavey revalver running through a line 6 guitar port. The peavey software works fine and sounds great, but when I tried to record it using guitar tracks pro, all I get are clean sounds no distortion. I've recorded distortion using guitar port and pod farm, but this doesn't seem to work. I have my input and output settings in guitar tracks set at guitar port.
It was going to try this through an effects pedal, as stated in the manual, has anybody tried that? If so what does it sound like, also the other way i was going to try was with the Peavey xport USB anybody tried that?
Dude... This is a friggin sweet tone!!!! I was about to purchase a Peavey 6505+ but after hearing this I am going to hold off. I have been using the new Line6 POD HD Desktop and I have gotten close to my perfect tone but I really want that nice and heavy Peavey tone! Can you please tell me which version of the ReValver software you used? What is the difference between the MK III and the MK III.V version? Please let me know because I am about to buy this shit now!
@jalonhallmusic um main difference in III to III.V is a few more speaker IRs and couple of new amps, but imo the 6505+ is the only decent sounding amp in the lot the rest sound fuzzy to me which i dont like i dunno if im doing something wrong but yea not great
I've never heard digital distortion sound as kewl as U R doin' =) U R really pushing the boundaries! I may get rid of my tube gear if I am able 2 get the crunch as good as me modded (all tones bypassed) Peavey rockmasters =D
@fearcomplexmusic Please post more 'how to' videos - like specific tweaks & things (EQ settings, compressors & other trix?) 2 get these sounds =D Also please upload full-length 'songs' of stuff like this. It's better than most metal. It's very catchy & has some unpredictable elements (very important). I guess always 2 throw in some unpredictable stuff is good - like some Middle Eastern hooks, from my playlists! HAHA =B^D
@lonelysome Hey, I don't think I did. I usually don't bother with gates unless it's crazy noisy, I prefer to manually insert silence / cut noise where necessary in the DAW.
You should make an paid online tutorials for sound routing and mixing. You know that subject pretty well. Once more I realize that only after decent mixing the tone will become really heavy and track will be truly metallish. I'd pay for your tuts.
@XSFlanger WTF U FUKING BASTARD! ASKING 4 him 2 take your $?? WTF R U using 4 brainz dood? FREE IS GOOD! =D Don't listen 2 this self-raping retard. Keep the free awesomeness rollin'! ROK ON! =)
Once one master mixing he/she may benefit from that knowledge. Not everybody is motivated or simply doesn't have time to do free quality(!) tutorials. I suppose you have no clue what a mixing process is.
Oh btw:
Seven sixteenths of one inch. That's the distance you'd have to move your pinky in order to not sound like an idiot and you tell me something about "brainz do0d"? Pathetic :)
@XSFlanger Fart all the idiotic words U like, but U R skrewing yourself, AND us, by urging this guy 2 rape us. Go die, jackass. The more good useful free information the better. If U want 2 give him a good bit of advice, suggest he get a band together (with a sexy singer who actually sounds good - Delain type) & make $ doing shows. U R such a fuking clown. What a slavebrain. U R actually suggesting the guy take your $! ROFL!! "Oh I don't want free stuff. Take my $ instead (drool drool)."
I'm suggesting guy to teach me mixing good, and I'm willing to pay for quality lessons. Never told him to set a price tag for YouTube video. I'm really sick of you, social parasites, who for whole their lives beg everything for free or think that whole world is in your debt, not appreciating even a least of others' time and work. And by insulting random people in the internet you prove your ignorance.
To Author: Sorry for off topic and thank you for your videos :)
@XSFlanger If I could intervene.. I do have plans for an in depth tutorial that will be included with an EP I'm working on. The tutorial will be a free addition that I hope will be an incentive to buy the EP. I think the package idea will go down well because if you like the production you'll get to see every step of that specific mix being put together, not just tips that can apply to any mix. Anyway.. it's all optional since my channel will not change and I'll be uploading content as normal.
@XSFlanger Bla bla clown - & lots of girls charge 4 sex, but it is not required 4 good sex. U R insane - a self-raping slave-tard who wants 2 open their wallet 4 no reason whatsoever. Go on with your 'please take my money' idocy.
Oh and can you maybe do a video on the low/high shelf boosts on the guitars. And maybe a video on the compression you do on the final mix! That would be sick!
@acompres Hey I would but the only thing from SD I used were the overheads and room mics. Kick and Snare are a bunch of samples with extensive EQ. I'll upload something using only Superior soon and if it's any use I'll share the preset.
@fearcomplexmusic I Have a decent preset for S.Drummer, but it contains a snare from DFH and a kick from Evil Drums SDX, also giving separate out's for every channel is a MUST, this i've experienced recently ;) So that, you can edit, i.e your kick, as much as you want
@fearcomplexmusic Are there any sample sets you'd recommend outside of the usual S2.0 and Steven slate drums recommendations? I'm just looking to expand my library of drum sounds for metal right now especially :D.
@rij666 Tried the SSL Duende comp on the mix buss, for EQ I just did a high and low shelf boost. Guitars always panned 100% left and right, no idea what volume they were at. I just make sure they don't clip and adjust by ear.
What did you use to connect your guitar to your PC? Peavey X-Port?

@jalonhallmusic Hey it's III.V
They say they tweaked the amp models a bit. It's not a night and day difference IMO. III is definitely good enough.
