  • This isn't from scratch though. He's sampling not composing.

  • on the real you dont need all that shit to make a beat, you just need software something like fl studio and manipulate instruments with effecsts

  • @jattd but there is no credibility to you or who ever the artist is with all that software stuff.its all pre set and all at the touch of 1 button u make a beat.i stick with the original ways.such as drum kits and keyboards etc.

  • @on12nite PResets are bullshit. You have to have real mixing knowledge trial and error to know how to make shit sound your way, u have to literally tweak knobs, only difference is that its virtual, less money, same output ( if ur good) and walah. People just dont take the time to mechanics of how a sound can change with tweaks so they up and buy expensive shit

  • IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BORING!

  • a bro ima reason 5 user and i fucks with the beat and the sample...i watch this video to get me hype...so i can go in...and make hella beat...keep it up my nigga

  • i dont even drink vodka

  • efffecctssSSs

  • the fake fade out at 6:24 is ridiculous

  • he is so good he just fingers the sample once and holds on for the ride

  • @rcwrcw1 bells lol

  • honestly for someone who has 67k of equipment...woow...Theres dude on youtube with a laptop midi keyboard and some sounds making hotter beats than this

  • @nyakzn18 sometimes it's all about joy of creation. not just a final product. and you can have definitely more fun with that "67k" gear than with a laptop and midi kb.

  • @nyakzn18 word. this shit is a "who you know" game

  • Comment removed

  • wat was the final song name

  • @spekstaa the song is called "American Gangster" on the American Gangster album. The beat on the album is completely different but still fly.

  • "My russian friends do it al VODKA" ... crazy dude...

  • LOLOLOLOLOL

  • If you sample even 1 second of a song without getting permision from the copyright holder of that sound recording. You are technically stealing. But since hip hop was founded on sampling, I say fuck em.

  • Question,,,, do you have to clear that sample before you shop it. or will the artist or label clear it when they release the song?

  • I need to make beats from my couch, I'ts where you chill best :)

  • OMG when he plays that synths the sound is AMAZING!!

  • Seriously, looking at all you who "think" u know something, every current sound, whether its a snare, hat or anything else is coming from some sort of sample one way or another..all the WAYYYYY back...even live recording when its recorded is called a sample once it goes through anything digital..so sampling??? Yeah, all music known to man is sampled. Learn something get wise...

KAGE Hate if u may, I luvz it...

  • God sampling makes me so mad. i understand back in the early days of hip hop, all mcs had was records from their favourite artists, so they threw them in a loop and put a groove over top. But nowadays there's no excuse. This guy basically took Al Green's hard work and creativity and hours in the studio, put a mediocre drum beat and some chimes over top, and he thinks he's made music.

  • @zoeysboy as a producer i must agree with your opinion. but music is music and you gotta love the art of it. if you ehar whats on the radio these days....Drake /Wayne, ithat alone tells you something. but my point is radio=BS and sampling=LAZYness

  • @brandonlink U must realize somethin Kid, You must explore what sampling is really about before downing it. Not everyone just LOOP a few bars and voila! Check out Producers like J Dilla, Oddisee and myself, artist you take and chop different sounds and layer with live instruments, or even sample to a point of making the original unrecognizable. THE RADIO is BS but, Sampling, Come on dawg do the research brother! Whether its Live instruments or Samples, Enjoy the Music. REAL HIPHOP! Peace

  • T Finguz - Old School (Pac beat) is beautiful. Anyone on here chatting shit bout this cat needs to read up on him, he's a genius. He doesn't big himself up so you wouldn't guess he's a classically trained national competion winning pianist. Modesty. Thanks for the tutorial!

  • Man u a cool azz nicca man, have'n fun wit it, that's whut's really hood man, handle it cuzzo!

  • someone, please tell me where i ccan find this song, or the jay z remix at the end of the video

  • youtube.com/watch?v=l4lR5zvjbTM&feature=channel

  • this guys hard still

  • Fuck you bozo!

  • Most of the elements are sampled

this beat was not even made from scratch

and you dont even need all of that to make a beat

i got reason 4.0 and a 200$ yamaha keyboard and thats and my beats are decent

  • @xViCiOuSx702 since u wana compare urself to other producers (not a good idea) u should go ahead and listen to finguz's new album. then u gonna realize why hes a real artist of profession and why ur on his videos talkin shit.

  • what is the name of the song he is sampling?

  • ...just smackin' those buttons, aint he?

  • @mikemusica AMEN 2 THAT MY DUDE! THAT'S WUT "REAL" HIP~HOP IS!

  • What song is this, i love the beat, nice sample, but i realy whant to know what song this cam out as.

  • g-joob

  • Yo check out my beats lemme know what ya'll think...

any advice at all would be great...

rate comment subscribe do what ya gotta do.

  • Very talented man. I love how he plays his instruments too!!!!! I do as well. I don't use Akais or MV-8000's but this guy knows exactly what hes doin!

  • Its a MV-8800, and quit hating on sampling cause yall probably use a computer program with soundbanks in them, unless you are playing the instrument yourself you are not being original, sampling is a major part of Hiphop, thats why all the shit out now sounds the same, and as long as you chop up the sample and dont just loop it, you can get around copyrights....I like it sounds dope to me !

  • fuck all dat bullshit lol i make trance and house music some hardstyle not hip hop too simple

  • does anyone know what that device he keeps working with is called? eg the one he's using right at the start... like what kind of device is it? cos i don't have a clue, thanks

  • @chriswilsonukmusic read the info Roland MV-8800

  • He got talent BUT!!!!! sampling is not being original... my opinion, but everybody got to get there own however they can, and thats he's way...

  • if the 8second rule exist then how come vanila ice got sued because the beat he did was way less than 8 seconds and it was different by one note and they still sued him

  • all the producers just use samples.. so dumb I make stuff without sampling

  • if i told u i'll pay $100k to and get me a 100 dollar diamond..are gonna catch a flight out to south africa and bring me back a diamond, or will you run to your local jeweler store? Point is, if its what the artist likes and they'll pay for it, why not sell it to them.

  • dj pillz too fuckn much stay off the drugs.of course its copyrighted thats what mpcs and mv-8800 do fag sample what else are you gona sample.hes not makin money off it so its probably not gona be brought up unless you snitch

  • Anyone know where I can get a chimes sample like he got?

  • aint this stuff copyrighted? the stuff he took from a cd?

  • i make shit like that wit no samples MACRHUGER ....BOY

  • nice man!!!!

  • i give it to you T Finguz. i been watching a lot of videos and this is the first time i got the urge to make a comment. you got a good vibe my dude. keep up the good work. bless!

  • this beat is on blueprint 3

  • haha ..i enjoyed this!!

  • very imformative!! thanks!!

  • haha omg this doods a fucking beast. goes to show these dumbfucks who think making sampling beats aint real music. check this shyt out a real producer adds shit to make a sampled track unique.

  • This guy is hella funny

  • Sound like gun shots when he's choppin it lol, good beat man.

  • check my beat out

  • i celebrate your mother

  • Its for dummies like me... I did know what a sample was, but did not know just how they piece their beats together... I tried doing it on my lil shit, and realized thats how they do it too, just with better equipment. good for me to know, not so intimidating now.

  • @Entertainbiz what was the sample?

  • @spekstaa You think Im gonna give it up that easy? If you paid attention he named the artist. I'll give you the sample for a fee if you got the stacks.

  • this geezer needs to make his own music. any cunt can do what he did in two minutes on a computer

  • he does make his own music .. google t finguhz theres video of him making his own shit and playing some classical type pieces ... he can also play well

  • no they can't... most ppl are not even focused...too short of an attention span to be good an anything.

  • prittay guuuud

  • damn thats pretty good

  • yeah but its illigal 2 sample more than 4 bars ul gets sued

  • you can clear the sample... by that i mean have special permission from the original creators

  • there is no limit. if u take even half a bar that is recognizable or legally owned by someone else, you have to have legal permission by the OWNER of the material to commercially use THEIR material. period. so dont state incorrect facts please, a sample is a sample, and it must be cleared regardless of how long or short it is.

  • RIGHT

  • your wrong i took a class on this in College last year theres a certain time period the sample can be played in the song before you get charged

  • o u took a class on sampling? nice to know they have that cuz i sure havent seen or heard of it... in fact, 9th himself doesnt even teach a class on sampling, this is very interesting news...

seriously tho. no. there is no time limit. there IS a technicality.... but no time limit. and the technicality for clearing a sample is, if the sample used cannot be connected in any way to the original music (i dunno maybe play the sample backwards or sample a hihat from it) then u dont have to. thats all

  • Actually you're wrong. There is an 8-second time limit. Now the technicality that you speak of actually is that the sample cannot be able to be recognized. The best way to do this is to chop the sample up into little pieces and rearrange it in a way that bears very little resemblance to the original. Which in tern makes the sample into a completely different melody and song.

  • think about wut ur saying. 8 second time limit. do u realize how many different tempos of music there r for them to even go by that time limit? itd mean if a beat was around 120bpm u could take the entire beat and loop it without clearing it. no such rule exists. its about as solid a rule as "if the teacher doesnt show up to class in 15 minutes, u can leave" in college there is no time limit. y dont u try sampling say, isley brothers for 8 seconds. u really think u wouldnt pay? LMAOOOOOOOO

  • In actuality I have done it. Also if you've ever taken an Entertainment Business Law class you'd have learned these things. No matter the tempo you have 8 seconds. period. Tempo matters none at all. 8 seconds is 8 seconds. And you cant loop it. The thing is you have 8 seconds that you can legally sample a song. i.e. any hook sampled by DJ Premier.

  • u did it eh? and u put that song on the radio? look..i dont like to resort to namecalling but seriously ur an idiot. how does tempo not matter when talking about time. if a song/work is fast or short 8 seconds could be an entire chorus. im going to call u out on that bullshit "class" u took. here.. read this alankorn(dot)com/articles/sampling(dot)html read all of it. ull learn more in 5 minutes than what ur "class" taught u. served. good day goodnight and get ur facts str8 next time u argue

  • @TekNiquePro. Whatever you are sayin sounds interestiong. im trying to understand the 8second time thingy myself. Please explain

  • @WhiteKeys007 some people on here are claiming you can LEGALLY sample anything as long as the sample you use is less than 8 seconds long. Completely ludacris. theres NOTHING to learn about it, except..you will be sued beyond your wildest imagination. I was just disproving that 8 second theory by saying if a song had a fast tempo 8 seconds IS the song. the bottomline tho is, if you use a sample, you're gonna have to get it cleared which most likely leads to paying out the ass.

  • @TekNiquePro YOU ARE RIGHT!!! THERE IS NO SUCH THING IS AN 8 SECOND RULE!! WHOEVER THOUGHT IT WAS IS OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT THIS MUSIC SHIT!! I DON'T SAMPLE. IF I LIKE AN OLDER SONG, I MAY CREATE SOMETHING SIMILAR WITH SOME OF THIER SAME ELEMENTS SUCH AS HORNS, STRINGS, ETC. BUT I AVOID THAT WHOLE SAMPLING THING BECAUSE TO GET A SAMPLE CLEARED MAY NOT BE WORTH THE TRACK..

  • @TekNiquePro extra late lol...but yeah i never heard of an 8 second rule...i know back in the day copyrights as far as music goes were more lenient when dealing with covering a song ..but once hip hop got more popular esp. with sampling, there was a lot of attention focused on making sure samples were cleared (mainly cuz that meant money for the owners of the masters/publishing)

  • job well done

    DJ A-L

  • straight beast!!!

  • I wish I had all the shit he has lol. until then I'll stick to my VST's, Fruity Loops and Yamaha keyboard hahaha

  • the future is digital producin... it saves time and space.

  • I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good job... itt's cool to see cats actually playin some shit too...

But ONLY in Hollywood can they afford sample half an Al Green track without even choppin that shit up :D haha

if that shit is released somebody dun payed some clearence-fee's...

  • if anybody know da name of dat al green song...it would be greatly appreciated

  • FIRE!!!

  • Was this a official remix?? was the song at the end realeased like that??

Sorry noob, but its MADD, is it available???

  • muito bom man

  • hehe. drink that bitch night and day like its water

  • Homie is nice....as long as it's knockin...it's all good

  • yes it WILL make you a respected producer . its just pop muisc , not like its an art form or anything.

  • all jokes aside dude is nice though

  • been watchin that Just Blaze video of him making "Show Me What You Got" a little too much......

  • nice work

  • i gotta say this guy is wack. he made a beat using another song and just added a few notes there and called it a day. that's not producing. i cant believe u people give producers like him credit.

  • EVERY PRODUCER SAMPLESSSSSSS.

  • everybody

  • almost all producers do

  • Please get some knowledge about producing Hip Hop Beatz than write comments please !

  • Thats how hip hop producing started my man! Early hip hop was 99.999 percent samples. Some of your favorite tracks are samples, and loops of old records. Perfect example "50 cent- Hustlers ambition" It's one continuous loop with drums and a bassline over it. One of the biggest records that year. I give props to the guys that sample and that make them from scratch, because it's not what you do it's how you do it. Alot of producers even use replay the entire record with live instruments....

  • lol

  • i like this dude... and to estalling i'm feeling what ur saying except the MPK49 is my fave just bought it

  • then you would like my beats.

  • A whole lot of equipment and hooplah for a beat that was "eh". Get FL studio ($199) and a MP24 ($150) and call it a day people.

  • i gotta agree..

and i was kinda look he has a mac book with logic..

i mean if he use logic why the beat table?

man.. i got the korg microcontrol to play some shit.. i payed about 150 usd. and a laptop with fl studio windows or logic on mac partition.

    do i need more?

  • yeah its a bit of a funny way of doing things. If you have logic you could record it all straight in, the keys the drums everything.

  • I like this guys style. He's too the point and cool. That beat takes hip hop back to the 70's sound with hovva flowin over it sounds good

  • The arrangement was already so beautiful that tryna chop it and flip it would take away from it. Still I respect those producers that can chop samples add their own live instrumentation and make a track huge. J.U.S.T.I.C.E. league

  • i aint tryin to roast fam u look like a wino that makes beats tho. haha.

  • lol

    its cool tho.

dude know some old school cool shit dats him hop from the 90s all day

good look on d post fam.

    i dont know kanye!

  • you gotta be kiddin me with that bass line...

  • i appreciate the tutorial man thats some real shit right there, cool dude...thanx

  • lots of industry producers loop samples, some samples are good 4 taking individual parts and some samples are just too sick on its own so u wanna loop it, Chopping and Looping are both respectable in sampling culture, lots pf producers actually put down the name of musician they ve sampled as part of the credit they ve produced. Kanye, HEatmakers, Just blaze and timbaland and lots ov other producers loops samples, cos some of the loops are just too good.

  • 100% agree.

  • Man this is some good stuff. Bruh jumped on all the instruments!

  • beautiful track this dude is cold

  • lol "gotta make it pretty...put sum chimes n shit n dere"

  • A Real Ass dude right here. This is incredible pimpin keep teaching and reaching I learned a lot form this video very informative.

  • wow so did jay z use this beat?

  • definitley a jay z sound

  • Its really all about the sounds for sure like he said. If you need any samples for your MPC or MV, I have over 1900 titles in all formats-akai-emu-wav-acid loops-etc and also 750gb hard drives full of sounds. Theres also a 750gb Program Drive for both Mac and PC with all the best RTAS-VST-AU instruments out.

Email me at pcosxtech @ yahoo for the list or check these screen shots of the drives to see how they are arranged.

  • do i have to pay??...i dont have any online money/billing/payment systems

  • Hi haterz

  • nas and jay-z wuld go hard on this

  • still stealing the steal still from the steal sill

  • sampling is hard. ok i hate the way this guy just looped a few bar sample and just added drums.i make hip hop i sample and also use a motif and create something from scratch with the sounds. when i sample i chop the record into like 16 small pieces and then rearrange it and speed it up or slow it down. sampling to me is harder cuz im just using what the sample gave me and when i use my motif i get to use anything i want

  • i feel wut u r saying but sampling is all they had at one it a art my dude,so understand the history befor u knock it ya digg

  • all of musical composition ever is based on "stealing" from others. that's the name of the game.

  • which song did he sample?

  • u got to understand that when u have good shit u could do sick beats so eazy

  • dam, that's a sick ass fuckin beat. perfect fo Jay, agreed.
