  • OMG!!! Can you imagine if THIS was THE original version of this chart on his CD?....RIP AP!!! You are missed! Bless you for what you have already given us!!!!

  • This is straight killing! Art Porter was one of the best! If you are in Washington, DC on 1/3/12 there is an Art Porter & George Howerd tribute show at Blues Alley 8pm & 10pm!

  • Man, gone too soon, art we love and miss you i know you're playing to a heavenly crowd some where above the clouds.

  • I watched his final performance in Bangkok in 1996. RIP

  • Someone who have a clip from ''Lay your hands on me'' live? It's just the sickest song on the earth B) I think Art Porter could be the King of Smooth Jazz, if he just lived! RIP.

  • I came upon Art Porter's tune, "Lay Your Hands on Me" by accident while driving on 580 east in Oakland, CA in 1999 on the jazz station. I quickly ran to the nearest record store and found, "Texas Hump," "Lake Shore Drive," and many other CDs. Upon my discovery I found out of his untimely death. Although, it saddens me to hear of his death, but his music lives on today. Truly a great artist.

  • God bless his soul, what a waste this man could play wicked smooth jazz.

  • I still play the "Pocket City" CD. Art was a very talented musician. Thanks for the post because I never got a chance to see him perform live.

  • what a great talent and person my best friend played keyboards for him and I have seen his many shows and he was blessed and still is

  • What a PERSONALITY! Truly one of the world's best. Makes me proud to be from Little Rock, Arkansas. Everyone of his siblings are phenomenal musicians. Not to mention the awesome legend and patriarch of the family, Art Porter Sr.

  • Art Porter was a client of mine for car service when he would fly in to do some recording during '94 and '95. He was very nice and layed back. I managed to get him to autograph all of my cd's i had at the time before his passing and he loved it. He was on his way to be one of the very best Smooth Jazz and Jazz saxaphonists of this era. I am very glad and proud to have met him and have all of his recordings. He is very talented. I hear some Eric Dolphy when he plays. He is truly missed.

  • I saw the maiden concert of Art Porter NSJ The Hague, introduce by the legendary Paul Acket.

    R.I.P.

  • We played baseball together. I will never forget you Art. Peace Reg Rag.

  • Seen and met Art in 1995......nice person. Too bad he passed away so young. Thanks for posting.....................

  • <3<3

  • Not long before this Art was appearing regularly at a neighborhood bar in Waukegan, Illinois. His sound was less Sanborn-influenced, the solos more reflective of the tradition of Bird, Stitt, Cannonball and Dolphy. But you can still hear a lot of that tradition even in this more pop, jazz-rock setting. And he was obviously enjoying not just playing the music but playing it for lots of appreciative listeners.

  • i commented b4 and its still tha best shhh on ytube, bra dont let this fall off this channel much luv!!!!!!!!!

  • Art Porter is spesial, he have that spirit in his tone, like nobody'els.
