  • Hello I am looking into turbo'ing my 09 drz 400 where can I find a kit or where do I start with this?

  • Comment removed

  • sry, but this i do on my drz 400E 207 without turbo

  • @danielsatko You are right, you don't need a turbo to wheelie. Congrats.

  • like a ktm!! 1°, 2° 3°gear!!

  • is yours turbo?

didn't think so, it makes it alot harder to control when your going and hit boost and have double the power out of nowhere you probobly havent driven any sort of turbocharged vehicle

  • LOL, thats turbo lag. You cant just hold the throttle on with a turbo cause of the lag. It will allways loop

  • it requires no hp at all to "keep it up" once you get it up.

I was showing off how many gears it power wheelies in.

  • how much hp?

  • dyno'd at 58.8hp on pump gas....plan on redyno'ing her soon though. Will hopefully have something to post about it.

  • wow it has practially double the motor with that turbo

  • what was that sputtering noise at the end of 3rd the 1st time.?

  • Ha!

  • i have an 07 drz 400, i was just wondering how much it ran you to make a custom turbo set up for the bike.. im really interested in puting a turbo on my bike but i dont even know where to start.. i turbo evertying lol including my 06 chevy cobalt ls

  • turbo?Are you sure?,because I not

  • I'm very sure *laugh*

  • Wow I had this idea a few weeks ago and have been trying to find someone who will trade me their drz for my '05 gsxr 1000. But I was thinking wow what if I took a drz and put a turbo on it? Well looks great you got a link for info on what parts you used or a how to?

  • jdgsxr1000: Keep the thou. the 400sm with a turbo still woundnt go faster then 200kph.

  • how many hp?

  • holy crap thats awesome! whats the bhp of that bike now? must well over 50!

  • i am was think bout doing this to my 400 did u get a custom piston or u running stock i was also think of going with a 40mm carb any info u r willing to give would help

  • Wow. A blowen DR-Z. I guess it hits the rev limiter real quick.

  • Well, he was grabbing gear after gear. And perhaps you haven't ridden a turbo bike before, but modulating power like that when it comes on boost makes its pretty difficult to keep it from flipping over backwards.

  • It wasn't a question of flipping over (which is definitely a concern) I was showing off how many gears the bike power wheelie with throttle alone

If you have a DRZ that will jump up like that in 1st/2nd/3rd gear with a 16/41 gearing, then you have a rare DRZ.

Quite possible with a naturally aspirated DRZ, mind you, but not many IMO

  • @wyldryce its actually kindalike the powerband comin on on a two stroke if u think about it.

  • @dirtdude1 he was showing how effortlessly it will pull the front wheel - did you notice? Just wind on it at will and up it comes, no clutch-slipping, jerking bars or anything. Just wind on it. GREAT fun!

And don't knock it till you try it.

  • @dirtdude1 i have a stock 2005 drz 400 the only way you can bring the front tire up in 2nd gear is to cluch it this bike no clutch needed

  • @petteeyy Not true. The 400s is definitely possible in 2nd gear without a wheelie. Just pull back on the handles and shift back a bit. I've seen it done in person on my buddies E.

  • It's NOT a kit. This guy builds his own turbo bikes.

  • hahaha amd fucker i wasn exscepting that

  • Start reading the saga at -

    supermotojunkie(dot)com

just search for - drz turbo

  • Wow, that's pretty cool, could you pass on some info on the turbo? I'd love to find out more! Thks
