didn't think so, it makes it alot harder to control when your going and hit boost and have double the power out of nowhere you probobly havent driven any sort of turbocharged vehicle
i have an 07 drz 400, i was just wondering how much it ran you to make a custom turbo set up for the bike.. im really interested in puting a turbo on my bike but i dont even know where to start.. i turbo evertying lol including my 06 chevy cobalt ls
Wow I had this idea a few weeks ago and have been trying to find someone who will trade me their drz for my '05 gsxr 1000. But I was thinking wow what if I took a drz and put a turbo on it? Well looks great you got a link for info on what parts you used or a how to?
i am was think bout doing this to my 400 did u get a custom piston or u running stock i was also think of going with a 40mm carb any info u r willing to give would help
Well, he was grabbing gear after gear. And perhaps you haven't ridden a turbo bike before, but modulating power like that when it comes on boost makes its pretty difficult to keep it from flipping over backwards.
@dirtdude1 he was showing how effortlessly it will pull the front wheel - did you notice? Just wind on it at will and up it comes, no clutch-slipping, jerking bars or anything. Just wind on it. GREAT fun!
@petteeyy Not true. The 400s is definitely possible in 2nd gear without a wheelie. Just pull back on the handles and shift back a bit. I've seen it done in person on my buddies E.
Hello I am looking into turbo'ing my 09 drz 400 where can I find a kit or where do I start with this?

@danielsatko You are right, you don't need a turbo to wheelie. Congrats.

LOL, thats turbo lag. You cant just hold the throttle on with a turbo cause of the lag. It will allways loop
spadastunter 2 years ago
it requires no hp at all to "keep it up" once you get it up.
I was showing off how many gears it power wheelies in.

how much hp?

It wasn't a question of flipping over (which is definitely a concern) I was showing off how many gears the bike power wheelie with throttle alone
If you have a DRZ that will jump up like that in 1st/2nd/3rd gear with a 16/41 gearing, then you have a rare DRZ.
Quite possible with a naturally aspirated DRZ, mind you, but not many IMO

@wyldryce its actually kindalike the powerband comin on on a two stroke if u think about it.
