I produced the ultimate PAN test w/ZS3. I shot 15 min video aimed straight out the side of zooming train. I meant to do that, to create moving patterns of color..moving in & out of being identifiable as railroad tracks, siding of platforms, oncoming train, etc. Artistically, it was JUST what I wanted & imagined. I shot 720p, worked in Vegas M S Plat9 & made into 480 Standard 16:9 DVD. Plays perfect. No image breakup or jerkiness. it's 15 min, will make smaller clip. Has loop soundtrack. Dizzying
I'ts settled down, se the HD version is still jerky. Concluded that the camera itself can create fairly smooth video with the wmv file viewed with Windows Media Player. I can try viewing on faster computer, try uploading to Vimeo, test plyaing on TV set as DVD (480 though), etc. There may even be video editing settings that will give better results. Question is, if satisfying HD of moving images cannot be viewed on internet, why do it? To be or not to be...
on my dorky computer, it played fine at med size with Windows Media Player, but jerky played on my 1080p full screen. Will wait to comment on the YT HD playback until it is settled in.
Oh, knowing how pans work or don't will help me stage shots in the future. Slow down the pans, use pans only when transitioning, etc. Good to know weaknesses in your equipment.
Looks like HD version is at first very jerky, but the standard size was acceptable. It's all still settling in on YouTube's end, so will check back later. Hmmm. Will try playing the base wmv file here on this computer and see if the computer itself can handle 720 anything.
These videos are so very helpful. I do appreciate you taking the time to put them together and share them with us. Thank you.

Which memory did you use? Class 6?

yes. SDHC, and you need a special card reader for the HC cards.
