  • Man this guy ain't gonna make it in the NBA

  • Dcoopson brought me here.

  • WELCOME TO NAWLINS AMINU

  • Hornets!!

  • That's my teammates older brother. My teammate is his brother Wajid Aminu.

  • @21Atl21 yo wajid is in my class

  • great rebounder gives clippers frontcourt depth

  • al farouq means the chief has arrived

    now thats a name

  • this guys some doodoo he should get fined or sued for injuring a young talent like lebron

  • athleticism of a SF build like a PF ....too bad he has the shooting skills of a center ...anyway this guy is going places !

  • Al Farouq Aminu is a great athlet. He is a small forward which the clippers need i think . He is a lucky guy because he has got a great PG Baron Davis and he has got good big mans in his team . That will help him much.

  • whats his vert? he doesnt even look that athletic compared to nba sfs

  • Whats that for a track .. its nice :D

  • Whats this for a track ??

  • He reminds me of tracy mcgrady ,

  • good luck in LA

  • highlight suck i guess it would be ight if he was auditioning for a dunk contest or sum playing in the nba aint all about dunking what else can this guy do beside jump nd dunk ..... foot work? shooting? court vision? driblling? passing ?

  • Which is the song of this video?

  • @SERGIO11993 Bring em back by t.i.

  • it looks like he can be dwight howards little brother

  • hes tall but moves very well and has sick hops i hope he pans out to become a great player

  • he is a good player

  • i think hes gonna surprise a lot of people, he has the intangibles. while his jump shoot improves, he could develop into a luol deng/andre iguodala type player in the future. a ferocious dunker, real hustle, good defensive awareness, and has crazy hops. he will develop into an all-star type athlete i believe. clippers got lucky.

  • what this song?

  • @SERGIO11993 Bring them out idiot...

  • looks something like travis outlaw? and who's that wakeforest no. 0 PG? looks quite good doesn't he, but didin't see him in the draft :X

  • looks something like travis outlaw? and who's that wakeforest no. 0 PG? looks quite good doesn't he, but didin't see him in the draft :X

  • clippers mite have a chance this year

  • OMG! I'm enlightened again!

    The clipps got another D-Miles!

  • @benpueblo TRUE

  • cool but i dont think he will be doing alot of this in the NBA. He is pretty small and he wont be driving to the lane against Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum, and the other bigs. He needs a jumper for sure. But I wish him the best of luck.

  • Welcome to the LA clippers.

  • Welcome to the Clippers AFA

  • BUST

  • @chibulls815 You can stamp that officially now since the Clippers just picked him.

  • Insane athlete who still has a lot to learn about the game of basketball. A versatile forward who can line up at the 3 or 4 depending on the scheme. Could develop into an NBA star but as a lot of work to do on shooting, dribbling, passing and overall understanding of the game. Likely top 10 pick.

  • If he doesn't have an consistent jump shot our outside shot, he would be a struggle in the NBA.

  • he kinda reminds me of an Al Thorton type...

  • he should not be in the lottery lol

  • if he's not gonna play a PF, he needs shooting and way better handles

If he's gonna play a real forward, he'll need more hops and gain at least 30 lbs

  • bust. you already know. he's not fluid.

  • The next Hakim Warrick.

  • If only there was a prospect available at #5 who had explosiveness and finishing like Aminu, with size and passing like Monroe.

I guess all I'm wishing is for Sacramento to draft C-Webb 2.0

  • He's gonna be da nba's future..

it's a great mix! wut is da name of da song?

  • i think he's gonna be a bust

  • He's good but I don't think he's better than Wes johnson...

  • This guy has no jump shot. Role player at best...off the bench. FAIL!

  • Josh Smith 2.0? or M. Pietrus w/o a jump shot?

  • shawn marion?

  • @letterplusone shawn marion was faster than this guy I call Josh Smith

  • going o the warriors

  • @bloodyhel456 I think you guys should pick up wes johnson aminu should go to LA but thats just my opinion

  • nice hell yea hes qonna end up wit da clippers they qot the 8th pick and dats wat da mock draft says the mock draft doesnt lie hahaha.

  • Does this guy even have any post game, mid range or outside shot? If not, I think he is going to have to develope these skills to become a realy good SF in the nba.

  • hes gonna end up with the Pistons.. #7th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.. i call it

  • looks like he's a warrior now

  • Not impressed with a bunch of dunks and lay ups... where is his jump shot? Does he have a jump shot? Not a lot of dunking in the real world (NBA).

  • Aminu = Marvin Williams, good spot up shooter can rebound and defend and is athletic and versatile

  • Teams like Detroit, Philadelphia or Washington should be really looking into this guy. Aminu could possibly be the best wing to guard/defend Lebron. He COULD (not saying would) give Lebron trouble.

  • @bdownbear1 Are you serious?

  • You would probaby need a good shooter to fit with Aminu on the wing.

  • The guy is long and has way more reach than most at his height plus he has hops. In the NBA he will be able to get above alot bigs for rebounds and put backs.

  • People are so easily impress with players with long arms. This guy doesnt impress me at all. He has zero post up skills, just another Hakeem Warrick.

  • @sfreedadon Terrible comparison. Really not even close. I'm guessing you didn't watch much of Hakim Warrick at 'Cuse and this video is the only footage you've seen of Aminu.

Aminu is a much better (& versatile) defender and rebounder, plays more of a face-up game, has more toughness around the basket and is faster in the open court and he didn't spend 4 years hiding in a zone. So basically, the only similarity is that they're tall and black... ie just like 95% of the NBA.

    Great call moron!

  • @kevinseveneleven

No need to call anyone a moron, U lil prick willy.

    Keep suckin that Aminu juice.

  • @kevinseveneleven

U come in here callin everyone a moron and dumbasses, if you know basketball more than anyone, what the hell you doing here on youtube? Shouldnt you be getting paid somewhere for your genius analysis ?

  • @sfreedadon Just because you're a loser doesn't mean everyone on youtube is a loser as well!

(p.s. my paper is straight, worry about your own paycheck lil fella)

(annd... not to get repetitive but that Warrick comparison is really terrible. was he the only athletic, lean forward you could think of? or do you really see a similarity?)

  • Does he anything more than dunks?

  • top 10 pick in the draft

  • yea datz it

  • his little bros name is al wigid ... met him

  • his lil bro on mi aau team

  • whats his lil bro name?

  • I would compare this guy to Amare Stoudemire...He plays the same type of post game...

  • is aminu play power forward or small forward in college ??he is way loo light to play power forward in nba...can he dribble like a small forward??like durant??

  • He does both, but is much more natural as a PF. He's been trying to work on his dribbling and outside game and SO far it hasn't been working too well for him, but I do think he's gradually getting more polished. He's an absolute beast in terms of raw athleticism so I'd imagine there's a ton of upside.

Honestly I think he'd benefit from another year in college and would LOVE it if he stayed because I'm a Wake fan/graduate but he's probably gone.

  • he aint gona play pf in nba!!!he is too light brother...i mean his height is ok..but he only 215???dats like sg or sf size..

  • I'm aware of that, I'm saying the game he plays in college is usually the 3 but in terms of where his game is most effective it's closer to how a 4 would play. I'm talking college, not the NBA.

  • He's a hybrid kinda guy, 'cause he can run the floor and he's got some athletic moves for sure, but a lot of the time his dribbling and outside shooting are a weak part of his game.

But he's a BEAST on the glass, pretty strong at the line, and just plain nasty in terms of strength inside.

  • To clarify/add a little:

Farouq is CRAZY good at running the floor and scoring in transition, so he's plenty fast, and is alright at dribbling, but he's not a skilled enough dribbler to really run the floor by himself yet, unless there's no defensive pressure. He's got plenty of moves and athleticism once he gets inside, and if he runs the floor WITH a guard, it's truly a thing of beauty.

Also keep in mind he runs the floor with Ishmael Smith who is the fastest PG in college, IMO.

  • nothing compared to my melo man..

  • I just don't see how anyone says this kid is a better prospect than Wes Johnson. The only real advantage he is being 3 years younger. Wes is by FAR the better shooter with the same athleticism. Both of them have questionable ball-handling and offensive creativity. Unless you think 3 years means he's automatically going to rise higher, Wes is clearly the best SF prospect in this draft.

  • This highlight reel does not do him justice. He has very good natural basketball skills, is a great ball handler, strong finisher at the rim and possesses great lateral quickness for a 6-7 to 6-8 guy (listed at 6-9) at the collegian level. In the Duke game you can tell that he was the best player out on the floor and at times he looked like a man among boys. He is a sure lottery pick but will need to bulk up and really work on that jumper in the association.

  • he looks like a taller demar derozan. Not something I would spend a top 5 pick on, now 8-14 yes.

  • ChiDynasty12.. thats what i thought but you have to WATCH him play a game. ITs unreal. Hes 6'9 and has the first step of a guard. Hes like a poor mans Durant at this point, which is still a very high compliment. You need to stop watching highlight videos and watch him play in a game. and yes he can shoot jumpers and 3s

  • Nothing stands out to me about this kid. Almost every NBA player can dunk, so what's the big deal? Honestly, tell me why would consider drafting this guy in the top 10? Does he have a good jumper? Is he a great passer? No. All he can do is dunk on the break, which isn't worth a top draft choice. He'd fit well with a contender, but don't rebuild with this kid; he's one dimensional.

  • @ChiDynasty12 Just going on the record right now saying you're a dumbass who doesn't know anything about basketball.

  • geez this kid knows how to

    DUNK!

  • Good fit for Sac!

  • northview sucks giant ass cock. yall are shit in every single sport. Norcross rocks your shit every year, we got back to back to back state championships. Norcross High runs this bitch

  • After this season, there will be a more complete display of what farouq can do. He has started this season shooting very well beyond the arc.

  • that was good..cousin

  • i know him too

he blocked the crap out of me in our JV basketball game.

but i did shoot 2 3's on their whole team in one quarter ;D

    Go Northview! (The REAL NHS)

  • good shit farouq my dad coached norcross his highschool

  • i know him. he went to my high school.

  • Comment removed

  • i know him too. he's my auntie.

  • bring em out by t.i ft jay z

  • i seen him play tonight in a summer league down here in North Carolina. He is actually really good. He has handles for his height and he has great offensive awareness and dunked on a few people. But i do think hes overrated

  • Poor shot, not a great handle, no post moves, tweener - this guy is gonna be a bust if taken with a top 10 pick. All he brings is athleticism and nice size for a SF.

  • i like this kid as a player he is a great athlete he has a big/ nba ready body and he is not a bad shooter... he also has handle/quikness and i think he has been ready for the nba since his senior year in high school although i like his decision to stay in college for another year

  • Top 10 pick next year.

  • The few blocks were cool. But what else does he bring besides dunking?

  • He is a power player, SF. He can rough players up, good rebounder, but he is also a good driver and an energy player. I think of him as a Luol Deng (of 2 years ago).

  • I dont really like the Loul Deng comparison. Loul Deng has a much better shot, even as a freshman his shot was pretty reliable. Aminu definetly shys away from shooting the ball. Great video!

  • @RealCollegeBBall his offensive game is a long ways behind what Deng's was coming out of college. Aminu is probably a bettter athlete than Deng though.

  • Are you forgetting that he's the best defensive player in the draft?

He has a frame big enough to guard PF's and the lateral quickness to step out and guard guards. He's extremely versatile and coachable. I really like him.

  • @richardhutnik it's a mix, what else should he show him dribbling up the court? show him grabbing a rebound? dunking and blocks and crossovers is basically what a mix is about. not a scouting report, bro.

  • good dunker tough guy

  • what's name of the song?my prediction is bring them out.

  • yeh it is by jayz and ti

  • who else is returning besides Al-Farouq?

  • Teague and James Johnson are likely NBA bound, but everyone else (besides seniors) to my knowledge will be back.
