@dothisdothat321 Sorry man but the sharpening doesn't look bad IMO. The natural look will make the video look bad. If you like very soft looking footage then cool, but I'd rather see sharp images. Thanks for watching.
@Khmerv3 Well, like I said, give the fd lens some good lighting and the results will be pretty good. Just buy the adapter and a lens and try it out. I guarantee that you can resell the adapter and lens back on ebay and lose little money. Maybe even get all your money back. Take a look at my video "Lost Dog Found"..I took pics with an fd lens and pics look pretty good. I'm no photographer so don't expect good pics but the quality of the lens is good.
@Khmerv3 You can keep the aperture at 1.8f (if your lens permits it) or increase if you like. However, at 1.8f to 3.5f your image will look rather soft. If you give it enough light, they can shine. take a look at my "The Yard 2" video and I used a Rokinon $25 fd lens 70-180mm and the images look very nice. Thanks!
I have a Rokinon 85mm lens compatible for Canon 550D. As this lens is fully manual, I need AF confirmation chip. Please let me know if I have to buy chip only or chip with adapter. If I require adapter too, what kind of adapter. your valuable advised would be highly appreciated.
@umcbethelst If you are buying the adapter soley for photography purposes my answer is no. Pictures will be fine with a 1.4f however you will have to set the aperture at 3.5f to 5.6 and shoot in plenty of light. Low light settings and aperture at 1.4f will produce very soft pictures. For video the same goes with the aperture.
Take a look at my video: Lost Dog Found I took pics with the adapter and a tokina fd lens. Pics were taken in sunlight and results aren't too shabby. Thanks!
Hey, that ebay link doesn't work anymore... Can you give the specs on the glass adapter? (What a disappointment that my new lens doesn't fit my T2i! I have to wait longer now. Arghhh!
First of all, YOUR VIDEOS ARE SO ADDICTING....I wanted to only watch the review on this adapter, and ended up watching so many videos...even you make a roach looks like a movie star...lol.. Few questions:
1- I have a 550D/T2i and i just got a canon FD 28mm lens, will this work with my option.
2- does this adapter have a removable glass to take macro shots?
3- what program do you use to edit your videos, such as your videos move with the music, the shake the bounce....and lastly awesome work!
@5sunny01 Thank you very much! 1. Yes, your fd 28mm will work just get the adapter. 2. Adapter has no removable glass but if you have fd lens with macro it works great getting macro shots...just get adapter.
@apocalypsesw Thanks! Yes, I added sharpness but one thing I would change is....not to set the aperture at 2.8f. Especially in low light situations because it f..s up the quality. So, for example, using a 50mm 1.8f or 1.4f FD lens is out of the question. At 1.8 or 1.4 video quality and sharpness is garbage. Looks very soft with a glow type effect which I don't like.
I definitely recommend fd lens for video if you're on budget. You can't beat the price!
The sharpening is too obvious and looks bad I would take some off, would like to see the natural look of the lens without any additives.

@defnyung thanks you. looks like I'm getting FD lens now :)

do you recommend getting FD over EF lens for Portraits?. FDs are cheaper and auto focus doesn't matter to me.

i see the opening on the adapter is fairly small. the question is, does the adapter raise your aperture?

are any of these shots color corrected?
dentrezz 2 months ago
@dentrezz Nope. I only add a bit of sharpness. Take a look at my video 'The Yard 2' which I also used an FD lens. Nice colors in that video.

Hi I would like to ask some questions. :) I got a Canon Kissx4 (550d) but someone gave me a Canon FD 50mm 1.4.
1.Should I buy an adapter?
2.will it fit with my camera?
3.Does 50mm. 1.4 good on portrait shot? or videos only.
Please. I just really need some help. Thanks :D
