I remember that night. A group started passing out paper plates with "40" written on each. Were told to raise them in the air during the end of this number. Hence, why Bono finished it off by singing bits from that song. Incredible night :)
its obviously pre recorded though. You can see when it starts you hear the riff but Bono is strumming the chords. then he realizes oh im supposed to be playing the lead riff and then goes up the fret board to play it.
