great mind...unique ideas, turning around the musical protocol...too bad the business creeps in. I have seen so many great players and writers not find an audience because they tried to play by the rules and lost it...anyone remember bob fuhr?
This was a very interesting talk hawksley.. youre uncertainties seem to only remain at the global level.. and i see you have addressed this in meat. give us an update and let us know what youre thinking about these days!
We, your fans are secretly glad that you have not gained the ultimate Gold Medal success... we still get to watch you perform in churches and small venues - up close and personal like a well kept and special secret - not in giant impersonal stadiums... wish you all the wealth in the world - but glad to have you as close as can be!
The passenger seat in my car is loaded with Hawksley Workman CD's only because I found him on YouTube. Video didn't kill the radio star, The internet made them famous.
I sooooooooo agree. When you listen to him on radio, he makes all these horrible noises with his mouth and grunts, gasps, sniffles, groans, stutters. He's actually best at being an a Capella singer. The masses adore him as a radio host for some reason. I did like his handling of weirdo Billy Bob Thornton. Check out that vid.
He makes a great point about (illegal) downloading...
If record labels backed creativity, instead of the formulaic garbage they tend to, people might actually percieve it as being worth more than nothing.
I like his comment that he's "not too big and not too small".. some of my favourite artists fit into that middle ground between the indie indie bands and the mainstream.
I love that he is all over the map. Isn't it great to love what he does and not be sure, but then love the next thing? Unpredictable!! awesome

@ads101466 Clearly many people disagree with you, if you don't like him don't listen to him simple as that.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
This interviewer is irritating. He asks the stupidest questions and makes annoying comments. Amateur!
