Blessings justicelevi in the name of Jah the Most High.
InI haven't done much research on Jamaica's economic structure, however InI would venture to say it's similar to every other in the Third World.
The resources generally service corporate interests that siphon the money out of the country. What they pay the nation in taxes is primarily eaten by government corruption. Not that this is much different than the structure of the economies in the First World, it's just worse in poor nations.
Dear people of planet earth, look pan the lion mountain of sierra lone we RICH in lots of natural minerals we have 14 to 15 natural minerals including diamond and fertile soils but look pan de country itself do you see anytin to smile bout, look pan de ten years of rebel was which causes seriuos distruction, the poor economy, poor growth facility, lack of good government and injected with corruption do u see anytin smiling.Look pan the education system and de streets and freetown air port so sad.
Can anyone recommend a youtube video or article to help metry and understand why there is somuch poverty in Jamaica. The place is rich with tourism, bauxite, fresh fruits and of course, the music. The place must reap in the tax revenues. Where is this money going ? Something seriously suspicious is going on...i've been trying to seach for answers online. not having much luck. Any advice would be appreciated.
yeah i get what you're saying. The thing about the carribbean is that we surrounded by limited opportunities so people do what ever they can to get out. but we can never forget the struggles we've gone through and where we come from. I left dominica no less than a year ago. People do what they can to get by but carribbean people are a proud people.
This is so reflective of what is going on in the Caribbean! There is a struggle between existing and surviving these days, instead of living! I relate because I come from Belize and there is no difference!
So true. I left Jamaica when I was young to live in the states. And I everytime I go back, it just seems to get worse. Bu I still have hope though! Jamaicans know how to persevere. We will rise! Nuh weh nuh betta dan yaad!
Jamaica is one of the most beautiful place in this whole world if your a real born Jamaica you know now much fun "yard" is.. its a pretty nice place to live if your parents is living alright or if you live otherwise you'll still survive because pplz always have banana n yam 2 grow and eat lolz however we do have ghettos a slums which is nuttin 2 smile about but just like jamaica america have problems which aint shit 2 smile bout eather
how can jamaicans allow wicked evil people to ban this song from the airwaves in jamaica when all it is stating are facts about what happens in jamaica.
for real me either you shud check out the actual documentary if you aint seen it yet just put Gangs of Jamiaca in the search there are 5 sections it touched my heart man seriously nothing to smile bout
this should be the anthem for de whole caribbean and south america...ppl tink everyting always bright but dem nah noe how much ppl haffi go thru to mek it so...Blessed
Despite all the crime i think Jamaica is a lovely country wheni got there i almost thought it was even more beautiful than my homeland Barbados but this song the lyrics touched my heart
Morgan Heritage ah speak di truth. I've been hooked on JA's vibe after visiting. The uptown part of JA is very established but di garrison ppl dem don't have much but they know how to have a great time and hold a vibe. I hope the government of JA hears this track cuz poverty ah SERIOUS TING DAT and ppl are becoming desperate and turning to crime.
cum look pan di gully side, do u see anyting to smile about...I love dis song when dem ppl cum to jamacia dem think everyting ok cuz of da beaches and rayray, put dem na kno da rest of da story.
As a jam/an and still living here ther are alot of fuk...ry mi nuh gree wid but wha we a godbless. when tourist cum a jam they take them to the beauty side of jamaica and shun the ghetto.
How the hell did PJ Patterson sit as PM for 14 years and fail to change the conditions for regular people? He should be banished from JA. The garrison politics with its patronage system is what's keeping regular Jamaicans living under violence and poverty. Run them all out, JA. Poor People... Get back to being fed up. Run them out.
this song shows what we black people has gone through and still going through. Black is power. It burns my heart to see what people out there in the diaspora is going through. Things like this makes you appreciate what you have because there is someone who wish they had what you had
Again MH come strong.Every time I get a riddim that MH is on,I start with them and they set the bar all the time. This chune is a 3RD world chune as we all can relate to this,I listen to it and think back to my peeps back in Zim.how the suffering continues.are we born to suffer?
very easy, abolish the jlp. and the pnp? hah. the roots of this disaster lie in the colonial system, an the few assholes who ship cargos of weapons to such a beautiful paradise. I have seen the up and the downsides of jamaica and i find it ingnorant that so few tourists leave the resort and see brownstown ect
