we crab potted down there in 1977, Wylie, Grant,Cadillac kid and beer breath and it was a fun time. Some crazy joker used to shrimp in the harbor to catch fiah bait. There was a guy had a grocery store with a nice looking red hair daughter and a guy used to work in the fish house had two beautful daughters. One worked at a restaurant. Does anyone know if they still catch crabs down there?
Typo. Its north of the border. Have you taken the raymondville route? Thats the route we take all the time. Its good to know you stayed here for 50 years. I been here for 10 years only and i like it here. I was from east coast. Dont mind the heat than the snow. Whew.
When did they move the border (along with the Rio Grande river) to the north? I've lived here almost 50 years, in that time I've made many trips from the town of South Padre Island to the Mansfield jetties by 4 wheel drive, always over 25 miles along the beach (leaving park road 100, you're a good 7-8 miles north of the SPI jetties, which are themselves several miles north of the mouth of the Rio Grande). To go from the Mansfiled harbor to the SPI jetties by boat is well over 35 miles!
