I remember Frank singing this in Elkins, WVA back in l986. I wonder, why the Irish love the French Napoleon, and I g uess anybody against England was who they liked.
Also, Frank taught us a song, "Bonny Light Horseman," also about the Napoleonic wars.

Napoleon followed suit and won the admiration of the Irish; even sailors sang his praises. A number of Poles were similarly hopeful that he would free their country from foreign occupation and fought bravely for the Emperor of the French.
