A vast majority of the black people at my university tend to group together on a massive scale, just to taunt and belittle white people. I don't care what happened in the past. None of us were alive then, period. It's over. Read it, but don't re-enact it. By dragging up all of that second-hand hatred over and over again, nothing is ever solved. It's always an us-against-them mentality.
That was a good video. I didnt agree with everything they said, but they brought up some good points. The saddest thing about today is that the most dangerous thing for a black man to encounter is not white racism, but another black man... blacks kill eachother more than any other race.
I know in the graphics there was a double statement pointed out, where at first it was stated that Blacks had no organized unions of hate...but then the Malcom X's and the like were mentioned. But the difference is between an initial hate...vs a defensive stance of perservation in response to an initial hate.
Racism is something that is taught that leads to hate. It is this perception that separates principle, regardless of any physical aspect of a person. Heavy multiculturalism demonstrates this theory to me.
i couldn't even watch this entire video. ok, you guys are racist and i honestly think you guys believe you're not. racism can come from every race. i went to a school that was 99% black and i experienced good friendships and racism as well. i'm boggled that you guys actually believe in this crap you've put out.
Actually, if you watch the entire video and read the comments you would see that we all don't believe that. It's just two people in the group. The entire reason I shot this video is because I argue with one of those guys at work about that point. I personally believe that anyone can be racist.
I really enjoyed watching this. It seems that race is a hot topic on you tube. I think that we should always keep history so we do not make the same mistakes. However, I do not understand why people are so hung up on race when sex slavery and work slavery still happens all over the globe. I agree with fact that the only way to stop racism is to stop the stereotypes. We have to change as a culture before we can move on.
Racism in this day and age isn't as much about skin colour as it is about cultural and behavioural differences. At least that is what I'm starting to think and see.
If black culture and the general social behaviour of black people was the same as that of white people, then racism would be almost non-existant.
For the most part I agree with that. However, I still think that even if we all had the same social behavior there would still be a few people in EVERY race that would believe that they are superior.
I agree with you that there would still be racism, but I do think it would be significantly less prevailant if blacks and whites were culturally and socially more similar.
The greater the difference, the greater the fear/anxiety/dislike/contempt for another group of people.
Yeah we do need some kind of revolution within. Like some re-wiring or something. Cause it's true were not united. As a race it's pretty sad to think, as far as unity we were doing better in the 70's and 80's. However the good thing is, we have progressed as far as getting more well rounded and promoting cross culturally.
Yeah growing up in the suburbs would you believe I got more hate from other blacks, than I did white people. Now that I'm older it's different and its not that much of an issue with other blacks. But back then it made me confused.
That's good intelligent stuff. I'd like to be there discussing this w/ you even though I'm white.
I think racism goes both ways and every which way.
You talk about how the history is involved and I agree, but for me as a white person, it's like being held responsible for something I didn't do. I didn't own slaves. I didn't discreminate. Why should I be treated differently for something other people did when I wasn't even born?
The reason I did this topic was because I was arguing with Yusef at work about this subject. Personally, I couldn't disagree more with the point that a black person can't be racist. I think more often then not a lot of black people tend to be.
I have yet to experience any extreme degree of racism (I'm Puerto Rican and Black). For me to start making assumptions just because someone is white is no better then when it happens the other way around.
Oh and btw we had planned on having a slightly more diverse crowd for this discussion, however, the two other guys I planned on having take part were late beyond belief. So I would have loved to have you there myself...lol.
thedispatcher thanks for the comment. And I am sure dragging a black man on the back of a pick up truck by a bunch of white guys had everything to do with race!
that was a horible racist act but you did not answer my question why is that racist but blacks beating up a white man is just blacks be supressed and angry
A group of black people beating up a white man is not suppressed anger, that to me is racism if the beating is just based on someone's ethnic background. But if it's just a random ass whooping that is something totally different.
you guys make me really pround to be blk.

That's a funny, but very valid point. As a community it seems that we have regressed in many ways.

your telling me that pulling a white guy out of a truck on the street and beating him to near dead had nothing to do with his race

or beating a black guy between 4 or 5 polices is not racism too? hmmm
