@kdemonde it's a 2010 powertrain development car, hence 'sneak preview' - we were riding in a Lincoln development mule - you can see the disclaimer + sticker info on the dash at the start of the video. @MovementDesign Thanks for the clarification...certainly you can can see why i had doubts but i am 100% clear on what your video entails and i am planning on buying an MKS ecoboost so my concerns are high and i want to make the right choice, it's either the 300c SRT-8 or the MKS

Yeah, its quiet and nice. But it weighs FUCKING 4400 POUNDS !!! MORE THAN ANY OF ITS COMPETITORS !!!! Also it gets the same gas mileage as the Infiniti M56, which packs a huge 5.6 liter Good ol' rompin' V8 packing 426 HORSEPOWER, any questions ???? There is nothing EcoBoost about it, it gets the same gas mileage as the new 2011 BMW 550i, WHICH HAS A TWIN TURBOCHARGED 4.4 liter V8, with 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque !!! Yes that's 100 more than this, and it gets the same gas mileage.
That looks like the 2009 MKS gauges. Im a tech at a Lincoln dealer. The 2010s have a bigger speedo in the center of the panel, the tach on the left side, gas gauge and coolant temp on the right.
2009s didn't offer EcoBoost... Although this video was made in Feb. 2009, they might have put the EcoBoost engine in a 2009 as a test...
The car is VERY nice, and I would definately reccomend it to anybody who wants to buy a Mercedes, BMW or Audi. Plus, its assembled in America! Great quality!
@shannon122005 That is Southfield Freeway. That building when they first start off is Automotive Components Holdings, Headquarters located at Rotunda and Southfield Fwy.
Porsche uses a twin turbo V6, and they are the most profitable auto maker in the world (or close), so Ford is making some good choices: no bailout money, bringing some UK cars to the US (hopefully a Focus RS in the future), and using two turbos in the place of two cylinders. They are the only choice in buying American as far as I'm concerned. Even Ken Block switched to a Fiesta/Focus
Pure ignorance! Toyota and Subaru among many others (BMW!) have factories in the states employing many Americans. Not to mention that they are corporations whose stock is owned by Americans. As for Detorit cars, they would be more popular if they were competitive which for many decades they simply were not in design, interior quality, and reliability. This is quickly changing (mostly by Ford), but the point stands that "supporting US" shouldn't mean: "buy crappy cars just because they are US."
I don't think it's fair to just say "hey buy American", like people are unpatriotic. Calm down son, all I said was , "support our country", read it again if you want. I never stated it made you or the car "good", second of all, you bought a nitro by dodge, WTF??~!?!? Seriously?!!?? Son this is about Lincoln not (dodge?!?)I mean sure it is an American company, but a nitro is nothing compared to a lincoln or any other LUXURY SEDAN for the matter. Now, I'm glad you support our country, that said, I also think you need to do more research on what you buy, and where you buy it.
Uhhh where did you point out that this was about Lincolnshire all you did was say buy American. Your the one who needs to do your research because this Lincoln is not worth what you can get from Benz or BMW in terms of fit finish and resale value. I'm just letting you know that a majority of what is out their from us makers is not great and to just flat out say buy American when other cars perform better is just stupid.
Go ahead buy your BMW( I hope it doesn't break we all know how expensive that can get), I'll go have fun with my Z06 and my 66 mustang, after all that you said, I still love my country USA! By the way, it's not "stupid", it's called an opinion. Others have them, like you. So, " perform better" ? HA!...
Well Chryslers are generally worst than Ford and GM. It never ceases to amaze me how Chrysler never seems to take the heat that Ford has to put up with.
I can see where you are coming from. The challenger is a PoS. Dodge doesn't make the best quality cars anyways. If your going to buy American and you want quality, you have to buy Ford, Lincoln or Mercury. Although the Christler 300 is very nice ride ( just rode in one yesterday i was very surprised) Look into a Ford next time you won't be disappointed, i hope.
I'm American, I chose to become educated at an American school, after learning business practice and engineering, I also learned that American companies tend to copy European and Japanese technology years after it is developed then slap a cheesy name on it and use it as a stupid gimmic, so yes I'm American and I'll stick with the country that it's developments are what still drive 80% of current automotive technology...
"rednecks" like us can live with a car for a few years. we can do that because we keep up on maintenance .usually. lol and enjoy driving. and our american cars are very comfortable and larger with almost like fuel economy and judging by this car the lincon MKS, are going to surpass toyota/honda and their luxury companies in all fields. size, efficiency, power, and durability.
Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world. If you really believe this MKS can surpass Lexus, M/B, BMW, Genesis and Cadillac, you are dreaming in your own perfect world, because nobody believes Lincoln MKS is the best car in its class.
To start, Lincoln put a cheap engine and transmission on a cheap chassis. All of these parts come from cheaply mass-produced Ford part bins.
How can that be a good foundation for building luxury cars?
i never said it was the best. but i do think it is showing how ford is stepping up. which i have noticed for a while now. so they will be a very good, almost perfect car. as cadillac and buick are. (yes i know that caddy and buick are the same company but their cars can be, well, different) my grandfather has worked on and driven many different cars at home, not in a shitty midas, and we are seeing ford getting better and better. im saying that they are GOING to surpass those companies.
they tested the new MKS against Maserati, BMW, Mercedes, and Jaguar on a road course in Loveland Pass and only the BMW 550 beat the lincoln. the MKS is at least 20 grand cheaper than all those competitors. sounds like MKS is by far better for the price.
@mcgoof17 The turbo was the whole reason the Lincoln came in duece since standard engines lose about 5 percent of power for every thousand feet in elevations...but I would totally love this car if there was a way to make it rear wheel drive or rear all wheel drive biased ala audi.
@mcgoof17 I don’t think German engineers can be beaten that easily. German khow how to make a real car and you must give them credit. I had Lincoln LS in the past the comfort is great, the performance is top the price is very great if you compare to Audi or BMW, but the main problem is reliability. I loved my Lincoln, but it makes me pay stealership thousands of dollars and sit me in the rain and given me a lot of headache. Unfortunately reviews on edmouns give the MKS very bad in reliability.
Clearly a man who has no idea what he is talking about. Did you just say Genesis? Did you really? You pay for what you get, and with bmw and lexus you pay more. There are good and bad cars coming out of all countries. Cheap engine!!! YOu know nothing about the engine.
Well that's a very ill-thought statement, quite alot of old Hondas and Toyota's are sitll on the road past the big 500k and onwards....
but the main reason you might notice more old-school American trucks on the road is simply because of the fact that most Foreign market vehicles wern't sold as in such high volume as domestic on our own soil, if you lived in another part of the world, whatever cars where manufactured in your country would be the most common from older era's.... duh
why are people brainwashed and think the japanese cars are so much more quality than american? how could a stupid chink create something better than an american? we invinted 90% of the stuff they use: electricity, telephone, airplane, assembly line....the only thing they created good was the hybrid car and thats because fuel efficiency has been critical in their country for longer than us..
Wow, ignorance in both race and technology! Visit Japan one day....if they'll let you in. Their technology is 3 years ahead of everything currently being sold in the United States. That includes cars. Fine to be patriotic but you're also delusional.
yes but honda toyota still havent figured out a solid body system. that or they got cocky, and for got all about it. tacomas WHOLE front body is held by the rad supports. hondas wheels fall off and are just plain flimsy. nissan is good and american is good. there is more to a car than the engine...wich is obviously being surpassed by american technology one step at a time. my moms corolla 100K knock, loss of power, kept up with ALL maintainence. GMC 1500 no maintainence. no probs.
But Japan is far more advanced in technology than we are. I have a friend who's cousin had to be sent over there because he has a rare form of disease that no one here nor no machine here that could help him. And we aren't expecting him to live anyway, but at least Japan can keep him alive longer than we could. Lol...
yes they are advanced more in some things...but not in space exploration...our nasa and russias space exploration puts them to shame...theres pros and cons to everyone and everything we just have to learn to accept it and be open minded about it..
i rode in a lexus, and a infinity...and the power performance was a little more, but when i hit bumps in the lexus and infinity, it wasn't as smooth as the lincoln and ive noticed it's been like that for years but besides that, this is a nice quality car, and i'd rather support the americans than the communist japanese...especially in this economy, it's dumb BRAINWASHED people that are runing this economy by buying japanese garbage.
That's because MKS weighs 300 pounds more, and uses shitty dud, suspension that failed Ford Five Hundred was on. Maybe, that has something to do with it. But then again, you dumbnut rednecks think it's actually better than modern, much better quality chassis found on Lexus, Infiniti, M/B and BMW.
the bmw doesn't ride as smooth as a lincoln or caddy because it's sport tuned as well...my uncle details nice cars and he had a lexus and he was comparing the quality to his aviator and your not getting your money's worth with the lexus...it's a slightly decorated toyota and lets not forget about toyota and all their recalls LOL 2007 they recalled more than they sold!! hahahahah
This MKS is yet another attempt from Ford to copy Japanese cars and hope they can sell these shitty cars to dumb Americans with little money they have left over from the greatest recession ever since the great depression.
MKS is basically made of cheap parts put together from Ford's left-over parts of failed Five Hundred. ROFL!
lol you dont know what youre talking about, 390 hp is definately shitty lol, high end leathers are def shitty, go back to cars of your liking bud, if you dont like it then keep it to yourself, if you have constructive criticism then speak
lol look whos talking you horse mouthed fugly pale ass fuck, its the same with most leathers used in luxury cars, stitched in a 3rd world country then shipped to a plant to be installed, go back to your worthless cars cause im done with your crumpet fucking ass
all you people need to understand that when the idea was conceived it was called "twin force." it was meant to be a performance option, which it is. And a huge money saver. They designed their 3.5 L V6 once, and add direct injection and twin-turbos to get V8 power. It's a genius move on Ford's part, because it saves them sooo much money. But of course with the state of the market and consumer perception, fuel economy is at the top of people's list. So they changed the name to "ecoboost."
I can tell by the Hyatt hotel at 1 min 34 secs in the video that this is on the Southfield freeway as you enter from Ford World HQ in Dearborn, Michigan.
So my guess is that this is a pre-production model in regards to the instrument cluster. Plus the feb 2009 date suggests that too.
there werent really any interior changes to the MKS, they just changed some mechanical things around, other than that its pretty much the same car as the 09
Are you kidding? These dumb fuckheads at Ford can't come up with shit like cylinder deactivation. they put a cheap ass twin turbo engine and then called it "Ecoboost", as if we will fall for that bullshit.
This engine doesn't even save any gas, either. In fact, MKS with V6 Ecoboost gets worse gas mileage than most of the comparable cars with V8 engines.
MKS with ecoboost V6 gets 17/24. That's it! I can name at least five MKS-class sedans with much bigger V8 engines and yet get equal or better gas mileage.
Don't you see? You are being fucked by Ford, again. Sneaky Ford fuckers will trick you into thinking this piece of shit V6 with cheap ass turbocharger is good for environment, and much better than V8. But, nothing is further from the truth.
We know this shitty Ecoboost V6 engine doesn't save any gas over bigger V8 engines. So, what good is it?
Well, it does a lot of good for Ford!
The Ford fuckers can save tons of money on engine costs by making them mass-produced and smaller in size. Do we, as customers, benefit from their cost savings? The answer lies with sticker prices. Did the sticker prices go down? Hell, no!
In the end, the Ford fuckers are cashing in, so they can pay off their debts and pension funds.
I can't agree more. MKS is a piece of shit, 52K car with shitty V6 3.5L turbocharger engine. And yet, these fuckheads at Ford are trying to trick people, saying it's Eco-friendly Ecoboost engine.
WTF?
Get a life Ford fuckheads! It's a same old, shitty turbocharged engine! It's been around since 1905. It's not something you dumbfucks invented.
you seem to be the engineer type. Make a small engine to get great fuel economy for a 2 ton car, but it most be as powerful as a premium v8. Good luck
I'm not so sure of that, my '06 Mustang GT doesn't feel very 'tinny', it's feels really heavy as a matter of fact. The interior could be better though, too much black plastic, the plus side though it has no rattles what so ever and it has 30k on it.
Clearly you don't know what your talking about, alot of steel is bad, it makes the car heavy, thats why we use aluminum now for better fuel economy and stability and you can still achive 5star crash test without steel. Ford's and lincoln's have good quality and realiablity also (2009 models and up) and they are far from cheap but they're not the best either.
This ecoboost is like a turbo but it seems like there using an engine with many other where they drop off engine cyilders to save fuel. I have been wait for a long time for engines to have direct injection because it means more power and fuel to hall some butt.
um it looks like dearborn which is like the middle of nowhere i live southern east michigans but thats down river which is bad and that where ford hq is; all the execs live up orthish with all the lake front porperty thts where i live but the subs where they r drving arent tht bad
Well..., I'm not sure if, they'll put a manual tranny in a luxury vehicle like that(atleast, I think, they shouldn't)! I think, it'll damage the car's image. I think, a autostick will do just fine. ;-)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
sure. they put a more efficient engine in the big ass fuel sucking lincoln, but the compact cars don't improve their mileage for the last 25 years!!!!!
Which is fine. If Lincoln is going to charge more, their performance ought to be superior. Lincoln is known for performance luxury anyway, and they need to return to that.
(continued). The G8 and, the Charger only have one of the two, not both...like, the new SHO.. The Ac. TL and, Saab 9-5 are too short...but, can compare in the luxury catagory...but, the MKS would still win. I think, the new Niss. Max. would be a good comparison to the new SHO, though! ;-)
That's true. Well..., they're trying. I hope, they offer a V8 along with, the Ecoboost V6. If so..., Lincoln can be taken seriously as, a luxury, performance brand, again.
Well they're getting there. They're what you might call a Tier III luxury brand. No longer with the products or reputation of a Tier II or Tier I, but a luxury brand nonetheless.
Cars like the MKX and MKZ are still woefully uncompetitive.
I can agree with that...but, it's said that, a huge percentage of people would choose the Linc. MKX over the Lex. RX...and, the new 2010 Linc. MKZ is going to be a force to be regconed with(especially, with the ecoboost engine)! ;-)
how do you like your MKZ compared to your 328? I have a 2008 328xi and the lease is coming due. I was thinking of getting an MKZ with the Ultimate Package.
eco boost gives you the power of a v8 but when ur normal drving fuel economy of a v6 so basically it is a v8 but they r doing it that way to be more green friendly
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Oh...and whatever happened to "Ecoboost" only costing $700 dollars? Or was that another lie from FMC as well?
Once you factor the extra $5,000 of extra crap you need (FWD-BASED AWD being one of them), to keep the car from torque-steering off the road, and Ecoboost is not a deal at all, just another gimmick from the Queen of gimmicks, Ford Motor Company.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Here's the thing with "Ecoboost"...
There is nothing "Eco" about it. It does NOT
offer V8 power with V6 economy. That is a flat LIE from Ford. Here's why:
The (faux) 2010 SHO has 365HP...the G8 GT has 364.
The G8 GT will get 24 MPG on the highway...with it's V8. The (faux) SHO, will get 25 MPG highway. So, statistically, they are equal. So, Ford is lying.
Now, if the (faux) SHO got real V6 mileage (30 MPG like the regular V6 Taurus), then there would be something to talk about.
Lets see..current Taurus AWD gets 17/24 and the FWD model gets 18/28..so the SHO still gets the same MPG as a standard Taurus AWD with an additional 100HP
the Hyundai Genesis is a fabolous vehicle...but, I don't think, it could be compared to the Lincoln MKS's luxuxry and, technology! In the engine catagory? Maybe...but, I think, it's more comparable to the new Ford TaurusSHO. ;-)
I think it could. It doesn't have a luxury badge, but Lincoln doesn't have a good reputation as of now either. Its technology and luxury are very comparable too. It's also aimed very much for luxury, so it's more MKS than the performance-oriented SHO, which compares more with the G8 and Charger, or even the TL SH-AWD and upcoming 9-5 Aero.
Good points made...but, I don't see where Lincoln have a bad reputation. I never heard of things going wrong on a Lincoln. Lincolns are very good reliable luxury cars. If not..., FoMoCo. would be in trouble...rather than, GM or, Chrysler! The G8 may be comparable to the new SHO...but, I don't think, the Charger is(atleast, not with luxury and, technology). The new SHO is going to have the features of a luxury car and, the performance of a sports sadan.
It's not that they were unreliable. It was that they had too many boring, uncompetitive cars for too long. Like Buick, they became a boring old folk's car. Now Lincoln's trying to get back on track. The Charger is actually kind of close in technology (MyGig, etc), but it's interior quality isn't. But the 2010 Charger will be new, so expect it to be pretty good. That car should have the proper isn't to be luxurious. And the SHO is a bit big for the cars Ford wants it to compete with, meh.
Well..., you do have a point about that, with Lincoln(except, for the Navi.). Buick is trying to get back on track, too. The vehicle they've made over the past 4yrs. are very nice. I wonder how, the new Charger gonna look...but, whatever it's going to be...I think, it shouldn't be a retrostyle, again!
Thats not a 2010 MKS he's driving, the unstrument cluster is different from the 2010 and the 2010 models all have throttle shifters on the steering wheel. Wow! why would they false advertise like that??

"rednecks" like us can live with a car for a few years. we can do that because we keep up on maintenance .usually. lol and enjoy driving. and our american cars are very comfortable and larger with almost like fuel economy and judging by this car the lincon MKS, are going to surpass toyota/honda and their luxury companies in all fields. size, efficiency, power, and durability.
highdeserthater 2 years ago
In a perfect world?
Yes.
SpiagiaVita 2 years ago
i never said it was the best. but i do think it is showing how ford is stepping up. which i have noticed for a while now. so they will be a very good, almost perfect car. as cadillac and buick are. (yes i know that caddy and buick are the same company but their cars can be, well, different) my grandfather has worked on and driven many different cars at home, not in a shitty midas, and we are seeing ford getting better and better. im saying that they are GOING to surpass those companies.
highdeserthater 2 years ago
they tested the new MKS against Maserati, BMW, Mercedes, and Jaguar on a road course in Loveland Pass and only the BMW 550 beat the lincoln. the MKS is at least 20 grand cheaper than all those competitors. sounds like MKS is by far better for the price.
mcgoof17 2 years ago 12
@mcgoof17 The turbo was the whole reason the Lincoln came in duece since standard engines lose about 5 percent of power for every thousand feet in elevations...but I would totally love this car if there was a way to make it rear wheel drive or rear all wheel drive biased ala audi.
amberpoovey 1 year ago
@mcgoof17 I agree, the MKS without the ecoboost is still has plent of power to pass and plenty of power to speed, it just has plenty of power period
TomJackson986 1 year ago
@mcgoof17 I don’t think German engineers can be beaten that easily. German khow how to make a real car and you must give them credit. I had Lincoln LS in the past the comfort is great, the performance is top the price is very great if you compare to Audi or BMW, but the main problem is reliability. I loved my Lincoln, but it makes me pay stealership thousands of dollars and sit me in the rain and given me a lot of headache. Unfortunately reviews on edmouns give the MKS very bad in reliability.

@mcgoof17 I would expect a forced induction car to do well in HIGH ALTITUDES, as the N/A cars would dwindle......

Well that's a very ill-thought statement, quite alot of old Hondas and Toyota's are sitll on the road past the big 500k and onwards....
but the main reason you might notice more old-school American trucks on the road is simply because of the fact that most Foreign market vehicles wern't sold as in such high volume as domestic on our own soil, if you lived in another part of the world, whatever cars where manufactured in your country would be the most common from older era's.... duh

why are people brainwashed and think the japanese cars are so much more quality than american? how could a stupid chink create something better than an american? we invinted 90% of the stuff they use: electricity, telephone, airplane, assembly line....the only thing they created good was the hybrid car and thats because fuel efficiency has been critical in their country for longer than us..

yes but honda toyota still havent figured out a solid body system. that or they got cocky, and for got all about it. tacomas WHOLE front body is held by the rad supports. hondas wheels fall off and are just plain flimsy. nissan is good and american is good. there is more to a car than the engine...wich is obviously being surpassed by american technology one step at a time. my moms corolla 100K knock, loss of power, kept up with ALL maintainence. GMC 1500 no maintainence. no probs.

man this thing sounds like an Audi wanna be. AWD and twin turbo? im surprised but impressed. I like ford and optimistic. yes i drive an Audi
GDET09 2 years ago
all you people need to understand that when the idea was conceived it was called "twin force." it was meant to be a performance option, which it is.

Why does the vehicle have a 2009 instrument panel?
MadlockNJ 2 years ago
I can tell by the Hyatt hotel at 1 min 34 secs in the video that this is on the Southfield freeway as you enter from Ford World HQ in Dearborn, Michigan.
So my guess is that this is a pre-production model in regards to the instrument cluster. Plus the feb 2009 date suggests that too.

The Ecoboost is the premium engine so it will come with a premium price.
Being the CTS's V6 doesn't make near the HP and gets worse fuel mileage I'd say Ford is doing something pretty good.
cmh1975 2 years ago
Do EcoBoost engines have cylinder deactivation? Or are those two incompatible with each other?
banstaman 2 years ago
Are you kidding? These dumb fuckheads at Ford can't come up with shit like cylinder deactivation. they put a cheap ass twin turbo engine and then called it "Ecoboost", as if we will fall for that bullshit.
This engine doesn't even save any gas, either. In fact, MKS with V6 Ecoboost gets worse gas mileage than most of the comparable cars with V8 engines.
itgeek8888 2 years ago
The point of the Ecoboost engines is to give V8 performance with V6 fuel mileage.
Try getting past your ignorant hate for the company and appreciate what they are doing.
cmh1975 2 years ago
"V8 performance with V6 fuel mileage"
Are you sure?
MKS with ecoboost V6 gets 17/24. That's it! I can name at least five MKS-class sedans with much bigger V8 engines and yet get equal or better gas mileage.
Don't you see? You are being fucked by Ford, again. Sneaky Ford fuckers will trick you into thinking this piece of shit V6 with cheap ass turbocharger is good for environment, and much better than V8. But, nothing is further from the truth.
itgeek8888 2 years ago
We know this shitty Ecoboost V6 engine doesn't save any gas over bigger V8 engines. So, what good is it?
Well, it does a lot of good for Ford!
The Ford fuckers can save tons of money on engine costs by making them mass-produced and smaller in size. Do we, as customers, benefit from their cost savings? The answer lies with sticker prices. Did the sticker prices go down? Hell, no!
In the end, the Ford fuckers are cashing in, so they can pay off their debts and pension funds.
itgeek8888 2 years ago
he's like "yea we're getting that v6 fuel economy..." yea...because its a v6 lol

egn83b 2 years ago
I'm not so sure of that, my '06 Mustang GT doesn't feel very 'tinny', it's feels really heavy as a matter of fact. The interior could be better though, too much black plastic, the plus side though it has no rattles what so ever and it has 30k on it.
thatguy281v8 2 years ago
Clearly you don't know what your talking about, alot of steel is bad, it makes the car heavy, thats why we use aluminum now for better fuel economy and stability and you can still achive 5star crash test without steel. Ford's and lincoln's have good quality and realiablity also (2009 models and up) and they are far from cheap but they're not the best either.

Or re-do the Ford Falcon. Give it a Lincoln body and interior for the look and quietness and luxury befitting of a Lincoln.
Then give it a detuned EcoBoost of about 320 hp for maybe 36-37K, and the new 5.0L Coyote V-8 with up to 400 hp for about 43K or so.
THAT I would buy.
TheNewMrCool 2 years ago
If that happens..., you might as well kiss the Ford TaurusSHO goodbye!
BklynJayL 2 years ago
Which is fine. If Lincoln is going to charge more, their performance ought to be superior. Lincoln is known for performance luxury anyway, and they need to return to that.
TheNewMrCool 2 years ago
(continued). The G8 and, the Charger only have one of the two, not both...like, the new SHO.. The Ac. TL and, Saab 9-5 are too short...but, can compare in the luxury catagory...but, the MKS would still win. I think, the new Niss. Max. would be a good comparison to the new SHO, though! ;-)
BklynJayL 2 years ago
That's true. Well..., they're trying. I hope, they offer a V8 along with, the Ecoboost V6. If so..., Lincoln can be taken seriously as, a luxury, performance brand, again.
BklynJayL 2 years ago
Well they're getting there. They're what you might call a Tier III luxury brand. No longer with the products or reputation of a Tier II or Tier I, but a luxury brand nonetheless.
Cars like the MKX and MKZ are still woefully uncompetitive.
TheNewMrCool 2 years ago
I can agree with that...but, it's said that, a huge percentage of people would choose the Linc. MKX over the Lex. RX...and, the new 2010 Linc. MKZ is going to be a force to be regconed with(especially, with the ecoboost engine)! ;-)

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Here's the thing with "Ecoboost"...
Now, if the (faux) SHO got real V6 mileage (30 MPG like the regular V6 Taurus), then there would be something to talk about.
sho942000 2 years ago
Nice twisting of facts!
Lets see..current Taurus AWD gets 17/24 and the FWD model gets 18/28..so the SHO still gets the same MPG as a standard Taurus AWD with an additional 100HP

sho942000 2 years ago

makeachange17 2 years ago
the Hyundai Genesis is a fabolous vehicle...but, I don't think, it could be compared to the Lincoln MKS's luxuxry and, technology! In the engine catagory? Maybe...but, I think, it's more comparable to the new Ford TaurusSHO. ;-)
BklynJayL 2 years ago
I think it could. It doesn't have a luxury badge, but Lincoln doesn't have a good reputation as of now either. Its technology and luxury are very comparable too. It's also aimed very much for luxury, so it's more MKS than the performance-oriented SHO, which compares more with the G8 and Charger, or even the TL SH-AWD and upcoming 9-5 Aero.
TheNewMrCool 2 years ago
Good points made...but, I don't see where Lincoln have a bad reputation. I never heard of things going wrong on a Lincoln. Lincolns are very good reliable luxury cars. If not..., FoMoCo. would be in trouble...rather than, GM or, Chrysler! The G8 may be comparable to the new SHO...but, I don't think, the Charger is(atleast, not with luxury and, technology). The new SHO is going to have the features of a luxury car and, the performance of a sports sadan.
BklynJayL 2 years ago
It's not that they were unreliable. It was that they had too many boring, uncompetitive cars for too long. Like Buick, they became a boring old folk's car. Now Lincoln's trying to get back on track. The Charger is actually kind of close in technology (MyGig, etc), but it's interior quality isn't. But the 2010 Charger will be new, so expect it to be pretty good. That car should have the proper isn't to be luxurious. And the SHO is a bit big for the cars Ford wants it to compete with, meh.
TheNewMrCool 2 years ago
Well..., you do have a point about that, with Lincoln(except, for the Navi.). Buick is trying to get back on track, too. The vehicle they've made over the past 4yrs. are very nice.
