I think its only partially socialist. They do use socialist symbols but they allow private ownership. By the way this year in Russia they resumed parading military hardware. Do they do that in Belarus. Also it seems that the Belorussian military uniform is exactly the same as the one Russia had prior to this year.
I noticed the nukes and other hardware in the 2008 parade; it's nice to see them back.
It sickens me though that they have taken to covering up Lenin's Mausoleum in recent years. When the President and Prime Minister go back to standing on the tribune for the parades, then the parades are truly back to their former glory.
