  • the old girl is burning a bit of oil there

  • nohab is made in sweden

  • @SuperTrobe NOHAB is a Swedish company - Nydqvist & Holm AB.

  • She must have picked up that smoking habit down there. In Denmark, it was not as bad.

  • Send more Danish locos. We need to have all of your locos. You don't need them.

In this vid, our locos are very friendly to the environment; they are doing nothing ... nothing at all. No emissions, nothing! Very, very friendly :-)

  • Oh man - And here I thought we send our old MZ engines unto an easy retirement!

Poor old dear is having her work cut out for her - You meanies!

Good to see they are still working though, they seem to prefer hard work over sitting still. :)

If you google for this :

    "Jens Raaby DSB MZ 1426"

You can see some photos of a sister train, in the old danish colors and a worn and dirty look.

  • This is how we treat all of our pensioners here! And you thought Australia was just a land of cuddly koalas and cute kangaroos, HA!

Here, all ageing immigrants are expected to work in their golden years! Send us all of your women ... and your locomotives. Only here will they learn the meaning of work. Muahahaha!

  • Noooo ... we'll keep our slim 'n' fit women, thank you very much!

  • Old Danish MZ loco, Great vid!

i've heard that MZ nr 1446 is alså going "down under" soon!

  • Send all of your Scandinavian beauties here!

  • No, it's the wheel flanges which hadn't seen any real use on NSW rails up until that time. Perhaps the wheels had just been overhauled like several other aspects of the locomotive. This vid was shot using a pocket still-digital camera, set to movie mode. This camera seems to dramatically increase high-pitched noises; the screeching wasn't anything like that at the time.

  • Great footage! The second loco is an old Alco World Series diesel. These found there way onto a number of railway properties around the world, including the New South Wales Govern ment Railways and the old South Australian Railways (albeit as different classes, with slight mods differentiating them)

  • old danish lok :-)

  • Ja, Helga lok!

  • built in Sweden

  • Yes, but the Danes don't like to admit it.

  • I like the graffiti on the es-Iraqi 44 class.

That's an ALCO V-12, BTW, that second unit, for overseas folks....'56 design.

  • "es-Iraqi", what does that mean?

  • kiero trabajar en los trenes de australia

  • Nice :) we can call that hard working!!

  • amazing video,heavy dieselpower.
